String test for horses

Using the string test to find out if Fatty will grow any taller.
* use a piece of string to measure from ergot to shoulder - swing it up towards the withers to see how high the withers are projected to be....i.e. the horse height
* use a tape measure to measure from the centre of the knee to the coronet band. If your tape measure shows 13 inches, the is equivalent to 13hh etc.

The second one didn't look like mid knee it looked like it was over the knee.

Probably my wishful thinking measuring wise - she was supposed to make 14.2 (she's 13.1 on a good day!) so sometimes I over compensate to make myself feel better 🤦🤣

Do you pit the rope in the air or by the body till wither?

Once a horse/pony gets to a year only, the length of their legs is virtually adult height - sounds weird and unlikely but according to everything I've read it's true :)
