The look the two in the front gave each other at 0:29 before they all put their Shako's/Hats on was just great reminds me of that look you give your best friend before a final run.
Absolutely, nothing like that tunnel look over at your best friend who you will maybe never see again for 20 years or ever again after Finals, but you did the work and the work never changes. Go BLOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That was my favorite part of being in a hornline. I get chills everytime I hear a hornline sing their part. Regardless of which corps it is, its amazing. Beautiful cutoff at the end.
4 years of warming up to this. I’ll miss it so much. When I first heard this arrangement I cried. It was the moment I decided that I wanted to do band for the rest of my high school career. 4 years of marching and I wouldn’t take back a single moment of it for the world.
Kenny De La Cruz Wait until you get to be my age, so far removed from the music that was a part of your very soul. I promise, watching these clips will break your heart and fill you with joy at the same time.
I've been watching The Blue Coats since the Seventies. They are for their time in the spot light. Inovative shows, heartfelt emotional performaces, just plain fun and entertaining. I always enjoy your Corps. I feel Blue Coats will have a Cavies experience, where you will dominate for a good chunk of a decase or more. Like the Cavaliers, Bluecoats have been putting out thrilling performances over the years, and finally DCI will catch up to us who have figured it out already, then watch out....
I know that Bloo themselves may never see this, and that I’m a bit late to this video, but I’ve always looked up to you guys. Only about two years ago did I learn what drum corps were, and the first show I saw (not in person ofc) was Bluecoats 2017. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart. You really did deserve the W this year. You, Bloo, were the reason I joined marching band. Or band in general, even. I haven’t seen this show yet, but I’ll watch it right after I write this. Bluecoats, you never have, and never will, cease to impress me. Every year your shows get cooler. I love you Bloo. Six words!!
The way the Bluecoats adapted this Radiohead song is profound, really. The arrangements, both vocal and brass, are stunning. But more stunning is the way this piece captures that beautiful, painful, tenuous feeling of not fitting in-- in love, and in life-- especially in your youth. One of those moments when performer and music are one. Universally human. And profoundly unique. Wow.
My band is playing creep as our ballad and I was so excited when they announced we were playing it! Unfortunately it's not as powerful as this version but oh so great.
Closing in on 200,000 views is proof Bluecoats "Creep" is one of the most epic openers ever in the history of DCI. Overall, Bloo's Creep videos are still running strong. I WILL NEVER, EVER GET TIRED OF CREEP. Go Bloo and best wishes for another great season!
I listen every day too. I love it so much. Super powerful when running for exactly this::the bluecoats is my dream. And being a flute primary and out of shape means there's a long way to go
It's June of 2022, I'm listening to this and excitedly waiting the return of competition which hasn't happened since the end of the 2019 season. Can't wait to see you guys on the field Bluecoats. Much love from your hometown of Canton, OH. #goBloo
Thats the beautiful thing about things like drum corps, they are all dedicated musicians and love what they are doing, and put real emotion and effort into what they do.
I wish I had played any of the instruments that are available in Drum Corps when I was of that age bracket (30 years ago). I can imagine what this would be like for a whole year because of the people that I met at the Eastern U.S. Music Camp at Bard College during the summer of 1981. I played woodwind instruments at the nearest DCI group to where I live was more than 75 miles away in Bergen County NJ (the Garfield Cadets).
I could never grow tired of watching this beautiful video. Goosebumps on top of goosebumps. The 2012 season can't quick enough for us fans! Thank you BLOO for an incredible season. Knock our socks off in 2012!!!
I agree..no one really understands what you do or why...not until they actually do it...I mean it's just so rewarding to do somthing you love...doing it is a reward in itself...everything else is a plus. I love marching
I think that if you've ever played with a group that REALLY got to make music you can feel the sadness in this video, it gives me chills. This is the last time that they're going to be able to perform together as that unique ensemble, hours upon hours of work for that final moment... there is not a feeling in the world like that... playing those notes with that group for the very last time.
I can also tell you as a former member of a corps that made finals (in div 3...) I can relate to the felling that you don't belong there...I still find it hard to believe that I did that for three summers. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything and am still humbled by the level of performer I was both in concert with and in competition with.
When you're at that level of excellence, scores are the equivalent use of scouters after the first few episodes of DBZ. It's about the music, the effort, and the entertainment.
It seems like every year I watch a Bluecoats show I am forever saddened that I did not march in that one. Even though they may not win championships their shows are always fantastic.
I understand that, and i realize the scores dont matter it the long run to the people in terms of a emotional experience, but the main idea about drum corps and why people do it is to strive for perfection, thereby getting scored. I believe this show exceeded some of those that placed above it, so that is why i came across as mad. Trust me, I know what you mean, marching a top 18 corps
This, exactly. My family and friends don't realize why I would put in that amount of time and money to get my ass kicked during rehearsal all for 12 minutes of payoff. But honestly, I don't think anyone can get it unless they've done it.
@ibrokeAstick Are you kidding?! Of course they sing well! They're the hornline, they have to know what perfectly in tune with each other sounds like. I mean take it for what it's worth, a bunch of horn players singing, but still this video is amazing
I don't know that my playing ability is as developed as necessary, or if I've yet to develop even the mental capacity to withstand it, but I know that my heart tells me I am spending the 2012 season in the Bluecoats.
@KaylynnBlair according to Princetons wordnet a marching band is a band that marches and plays music at the same time and a band is simply a group of musicians organized for ensemble play. Ipso facto a drum and bugle corp is a marching band regardless of the instrumentation or their affiliation. They could play kazoos and be a bunch of kids from Mars but if they march ie move their feet at the same time they are a marching band. So say what you want it's already defined
Bloooo.!♥ omg, it's so wunderful... i can't really discribe my feelings when i'm watching this vid cause.. yees.. *.* it's very emotional.. (: I still love bluecoats and one day I'll also be a part of it ;* luv ya guys ♥
@JessEkah47 Drum Corps doest stop at DCI. DCA can be just as intense as DCI with an all age range. I proudly march The Connecticut Hurricanes with friends in both DCI and DCA. Im starting my 7th season at 26.
The part that gets me every time is when they’re walking through the tunnel and it cuts to them on the climax of the song walking onto the Lucas oil turf. BLOO!!!
Please bring back these uniforms and head gear. Please!! I'm begging you and all other D.C.I. corps. Bring back the traditional uniforms and headgear. You can still advance the marching arts but do it in the signature uniforms. Please!
This video is what made me realize what my dream is. I am going to march Bluecoats one day. Whether I learn to play a brass instrument or I keep with guard, I will be a bluecoat someday.
@Mrfunkyoyo I'm fully aware. I'm doing my best to make the switch, actually. But I don't have a knack for brass like I do for flute, and I'm worried that I won't be up to par soon enough. As much as I adore my first instrument, If I'd known about DCI back then, I wouldn't have chosen a woodwind. Oh well. I was only complaining a little, chill out. :)
The look the two in the front gave each other at 0:29 before they all put their Shako's/Hats on was just great reminds me of that look you give your best friend before a final run.
Rob Velez YAESS!!
Absolutely, nothing like that tunnel look over at your best friend who you will maybe never see again for 20 years or ever again after Finals, but you did the work and the work never changes. Go BLOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"What the hell am I doing here" been awhile since I have heard a band say that XD.
It's apart of the song creep by radiohead.
BurntMellow That's probably why I recognize this. XD
+Bruce watson its a great fucking song
"Band"
I know this was a year ago but this is not a band, it's a drum corps.
If you can watch this without getting chills, you are emotionless.
I am emotionless, and I still got chills
I've just watched it too many times xD
ThatCheapDrummer my mom's emotionless cuz she called it annoying
The first few seconds always give me chillsssss
I got chills with every note change.
Here for my daily visit
Sandman Gaming saaaame
Still coming back
SandmanHD never gets old
frrr
Me too
That was my favorite part of being in a hornline. I get chills everytime I hear a hornline sing their part. Regardless of which corps it is, its amazing. Beautiful cutoff at the end.
Click. Clickclick.
BLUECOATS!!! No more wishing you were special! You've always been special, and now you've got the gold to prove it!
possibly winning another this year the way things are looking
Top 4 this year is crazy! Not sure if Bloo can pull it off this year though...
corps that sing their music are the best :D

Been watching this clip for years and it gets better every time
I cried. I miss Marching Band so much...

@@zachlewis1437 I’m getting there. The feeling still rushes through my veins. I’m near that age now probably.
The kinda video that really makes you want marching band.
And leave after half time.
It's not a marching band, its a god damn drum and bugle corps
Yes, but I'm not in a drum Corps.
Andrew Nico Neither am I....
+Dill Pickle they're literally just a marching band.
For those who are wondering if it's normal to cry watching this... hell yes.
I've been watching The Blue Coats since the Seventies. They are for their time in the spot light. Inovative shows, heartfelt emotional performaces, just plain fun and entertaining. Yes we drum corps people...are creepy and weird...and thank god we have each other!!!
Okay, but the way they lined up "Bluuuuuuuuue" with "creep" is the best thing ever. Great video!
I know that Bloo themselves may never see this, and that I’m a bit late to this video, but I’ve always looked up to you guys. that cut-off Though :O
i have to watch this at least once a week to keep me going
Whoever narrated and created this video, I give you mad props. It was like poetry.
WHY IS THIS MORE AND MORE AMAZING EVERY TIME I HEAR IT
0:22 MATT KAT IN THE BACKGROUND
Me and a few bandmates from high-school actually played this at my last concert. It was the most beautiful piece played. I will forever love this.
LOVED hearing this moving song by bluecoats voices...beautiful@
I seriously can listen to this on repeat lol. Amazingness. Just absolutely breathtaking.
It's June of 2022, I'm listening to this and excitedly waiting the return of competition which hasn't happened since the end of the 2019 season.
Can't wait to see you guys on the field Bluecoats. Much love from your hometown of Canton, OH. #goBloo
I would love to hear them do Fake Plastic Trees
*Uma performance incrível* 💙💙💙
The 32 people that disliked this. Who are you and are you human?
Christian Briscoe they're salty that their band isn't that good
Christian Briscoe they're probably like die hard BD fans and just jelly that we finally got our gold.
Thats the beautiful thing about things like drum corps, they are all dedicated musicians and love what they are doing, and put real emotion and effort into what they do.
my marching show did this for ballad it was very fun considering I play baritone and we had same rhythm and every thing
Six words is (not, but should be): This corps is filled with musicians.
These kids are wonderful performers and musicians. Much love for Bloo
THAT IN STEPNESS
Blue Coats > Blue Devils
My reason?
This.
@phildawg200 It's basically a concert horn with an extended lead pipe and some reinforced metal where the shoulder goes.
I've watched this TOO many times

What great video moments to go with the tune! Well done, thank you.
I could never grow tired of watching this beautiful video. Goosebumps on top of goosebumps. The 2012 season can't quick enough for us fans! Thank you BLOO for an incredible season. Knock our socks off in 2012!!!
this was our last years senior song and now i miss the so much!!!
The "a" in "I'm a creep" is the best one second of this video.
Best DCI video I have ever seen. This is inspiring. This video has converted me to a Bluecoats lover.
I agree..no one really understands what you do or why...not until they actually do it...I mean it's just so rewarding to do somthing you love...doing it is a reward in itself...everything else is a plus. I love marching

MR ANDERSON!!!!
Superb video captures more than the great year for the Bluecoats.Makes me wish i was a Bluecoat,i'd be super cool.
You guys made my band director go buy this and now its a new marching band warm up. I love you guys
When you're at that level of excellence, scores are the equivalent use of scouters after the first few episodes of DBZ. It's about the music, the effort, and the entertainment.
first of all im a huge radiohead fan. and this just made my day. its beautiful
"I wish I was special" every time I see a drum corps
I used to not like the Bluecoats. But now, after having seen them live, I love them.
Lol, I play sax. I'm a senior this year and I've just begun learning euphonium. Trying out for Crown season of 2013!
I teared up and got more goosebumps than I've ever gotten.
It seems like every year I watch a Bluecoats show I am forever saddened that I did not march in that one. Even though they may not win championships their shows are always fantastic.
om-gosh they started singing and i got chills and started crying this is so goooooooooooood
This song is so beautiful and it’s in my marching bands halftime show this year!
@phildawg200 They are marching contrabass horns. Most drum corps use them instead of the marching sousaphone.
I understand that, and i realize the scores dont matter it the long run to the people in terms of a emotional experience, but the main idea about drum corps and why people do it is to strive for perfection, thereby getting scored. You're so fucking special!!!!!
yeah man, definitely. They get sooo much love from the crowd but barely any from the judges.
dude i feel the same way!!!!
this is the reason why im starting on baritone now
I mean, I'm a Phantom Regiment fan, but THIS IS AWESOME
"no description available"
Well obviously. There is no way to describe how beautiful this is.
It's been 6 years and I still get chills when I watch this
Although I'm only fourteen, I will one day join your ranks Bluecoats. This contra will find his way.
I was in the audience at New Meadowlands that night. They did amazing XD
...uuhhhhhhh
Imma go pick my jaw off the floor
so beautiful. that cutoff gave me chills.
This is an amazing video. I love whoever put this together, it's beautiful.
@ibrokeAstick Are you kidding?! Of course they sing well! They're the hornline, they have to know what perfectly in tune with each other sounds like. I mean take it for what it's worth, a bunch of horn players singing, but still this video is amazing
Such a great performance and video. I have a competition in the morning and watching this is just inspiring.
This might be the greatest video I've ever seen.
God, friends, family, and drum corps are the only reasons I like this planet anymore.
I don't know that my playing ability is as developed as necessary, or if I've yet to develop even the mental capacity to withstand it, but I know that my heart tells me I am spending the 2012 season in the Bluecoats.

This is just simply BEAUTIFUL..
The video was perfect with the music and gave me chills all over my body....
Brilliant Musicianship!

Ohhh Yeah!! Amazing!!! It's very wonderful!! =)

It’s literally my dream to be in the Bluecoats when I am older.
Save a spot for a trumpet/mellophone/flugelhorn:)
This is amazing. Simply amazing.
Awesome as always.
The part that gets me every time is when they’re walking through the tunnel and it cuts to them on the climax of the song walking onto the Lucas oil turf. BLOO!!!
DAYUM!!! I GOT CHILLS! Thanks!
actually in between the time I commented and now I've decided to audition this fall for Teal Sound 2013, hahah but thanks!
Please bring back these uniforms and head gear. Please!! I'm begging you and all other
D.C.I. corps. Bring back the traditional uniforms and headgear. You can still advance the

This video is what made me realize what my dream is. I am going to march Bluecoats one day. Whether I learn to play a brass instrument or I keep with guard, I will be a bluecoat someday.
This made my skin crawl. Now I want to march Bluecoats, like, now.
@Mrfunkyoyo I'm fully aware. I'm doing my best to make the switch, actually. But I don't have a knack for brass like I do for flute, and I'm worried that I won't be up to par soon enough. Recruitement video...AWESOME !
Just keep doing what your doing Blue!
