No doubt. Most modern recordings are glued using an underlying synth of sorts. This would be a fun way to use the guitar for this effect without having to roll off the attack.

I bouth one of these YEARS ago once I found out how the late great Stuart Adamson produced his 'bagpipe' sound on his Gibson LP. The most distinctive trakc he used it on was 'Lost Patrol' The intro is an awesomely sustained note that feeds into the drum intro riff. Have a listen sometime he was MASTER with the Ebow. Ive always wondered if the Egde uses one for the intro to 'with or without you' - that sustain is INSANE!

To sound like a Didgeridoo you can with your left hand take the vibrato bar and bring the bar down far enough so the 6th string is an octave or more lower. Take your right hand with the Ebow and put it over the 6th string near the neck pickup. With the help of a wah wah you should get the Didgeridoo sound. Echo & reverb helps too. For taste a slight overdrive too. Ever so gently slide the Ebow over the pickup while lifting & lowering the vibrato bar a few cents and the wah almost all heel to mid sweep motion. Nothing to it. Thanks * mute the 1st thru 5th strings so no extra noise is heard.

@@guitarguitaruk thank you very much for responding. P. S. I apologize for not commenting on how cool your video was. My daughter wants me to make some scary music for her college film project and I think this will work instead of buying an actual bow. Hopefully the E or A string can play some low sustained sounds. Thanks again. Nice music you’ve created.

How did The Church get that bagpipe sound with an Ebow?

@@jonnblackwell7747 thank you! I bought an Ebow recently and I don’t know much about pedals and effects yet. I just love that sound on that song. :)

There is also some sampling done on that recording - where the ebow guitar was sampled into a synth and a melody was added to the mix alongside the ebow guitar line. Take a look at the video for "I Don't Know How I Don't Know Why" by The Church - you can see Peter playing the Ebow in that.

i cant play the e above e below the the others i can, but not that easy like ypu. i need to put it on the strings and after seconds i hardly hear the sound. could it be the batterie maybe. i mean i never changed it. or could is it broke?

Sometimes you just have to try different parts of the pickup or strings. Changing the batteries can help wonders too. Maybe try different amp settings and/or pedals too to bring out. Hope it sorts itself out :)
