I got an E-Bow a few months ago and never got round to using it, after watching your video I must find time to practice with the E-Bow to get some cool sounds.
ebow stands for 'energy bow', not 'electronic bow'. The master of this was Stuart Adamson, the genius songwriter and guitarist who fronted Big Country. Listen to their first album 'The Crossing' and you will hear Stuart's ebow all over it.
I think the optimal musicality with ebow is Opeth's Still Life. Not the mellow soft sound cello like, but that bright ambience drone. Long high notes giving the composition some character.
Thanks for the demo of ebow I personally found the same when I had one years ago. I must buy one some time. Thanks again. Keep up the nice work and I will check back. Have you tried stacking compressors also using a looper I would imagine a bit of chorus would be nice
Thanks for the demo! Next demo, feel free to use different notes on different strings. By the end, i found the sound of your 4 favorite notes to be a bit maddening.
Are Artisan series amps still being manufactured? I’ve been trying to get one. That or the JJN model 20 watt head and cabinet but both seem to have gone the way of the condor or the do do it seems. Any info much appreciated. I’ve been looking to get a BlackStar for the first time just hard time getting the models I’ve researched.
This is totally off topic but I'm super disappointed that you guys choose not to update the previous id core models to make every feature in the architect software usable. people would would respect your company more if you did solid stuff like that. god forbid you buy a used amp and the person doesnt give you the correct info so you can sign up for architect... real slimy stuff. Take care of your customers. just because a v3 is affordable shouldnt force you into upgrading, the only reason that cabrig lite cant be used on previous amps is a choice made by your company out of greed. please take better care of your customers.
Thanks for the comment Aaron - the reason Cab Rig can't be used in earlier ID:Core models is because V3 has new hardware developed specifically for Cab Rig that did not exist in 2016 when V2 was released. The long and short is that it is not possible to add this functionality to V2 or V1 by means of firmware update unfortunately. Regarding Architect downloads - any customer can download any software, for any product, by clicking on "All Downloads" within the top menu of our customer portal. @alexreich5996 i actually dont find it off topic. I think its bs these companies redesign the same amp once a year and almost force you to rebuy it for the newer features. Also i don't remember when i wrote this but find something better to do besides stick up for blackstar, a large company who really could give a shit about you me or anyone else. You sound like a real twat.
This is a useless tool for the money! The only way the E-bow could be worth $100.00 is if I were near the inventor after using it so I could wing it at their eye socket! It’s not bass friendly at all! It does work on guitar, but I can’t see this being useful for anything especially live or practicing I can see my band mates now as I fumble this oblong dildo of a device and rest it perfectly in place on the strings just so… 🙄 🙄 🙄 I think it should be renamed the pretentious overthinking indicator…
Loads of artists use them (or used them) both live and in the studio. R.E.M. are one example, the best exponents were Big Country, Stuart Adamson in particular. Also, Radiohead used it, I don't think these artists considered it a toy, nor did they find it useless. Maybe educate yourself a little.........?
Clear and detailed tutorial. Thank you.

Very off topic. I dont understand why people feel the need to comment shit like this that has nothing to do with the video 🤦

Might be good for session or studio work but I don't see anybody using it live unless you can show a video of it
I just saw Depeche Mode live last week and Martin Gore was using an Ebow on stage for a couple of songs. Sounded good.
