Me who Welsh and lives in Australia this song makes me think about my land more than some of my people that l have to keep a eye out on and for someone who listens to my love ones who are gone but still there
This song brings me to tears. My family came from Wales to the US in the 1800s. I owe everything to them and I will never forgot about them. I long for the day to return home where I belong.
Beautiful video and great choice in music as well. A song like this written out of love for God, family and country has an everlasting appeal. Combined with the Welsh/Celtic soul and you have a true masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this.
Composed by: William Stanley Gwynn Williams (1950). Lyrics: I am dreaming of the mountains of my home Of the mountains where in childhood I would roam I have dwelt 'neath southern skies Where the summer never dies But my heart is in the mountains of my home I can see the little homestead on the hill I can hear the magic music of the rill There is nothing to compare With the love that once was there In the lonely little homestead on the hill I can see the quiet churchyard down below Where the mountain breezes wander to and fro And when God my soul will keep It is there I want to sleep With those dear old folks that loved me long ago
@@patrioticarchive You have confused the word. Rhyl is a town in North Wales. The word that you are thinking of is Rhiw as in Rhiw Goch, a station on the Ffestiniog railway. The word in the song is an English word, "rill" which is a small mountain stream. I actually sang this song in our school many years ago in our school choir where the meaning of the word was explained to us. The Welsh word for stream would be "nant."

Rhyl???
Rhyl means hill or hillock in Welsh

@@philjones1013Every set of lyrics for this song uses "Rhyl"... Must of been an error by the songwriter maybe? Thank you for the correction mate.
