  • Yeah I sold this one, which was my 6th Riviera and my 3rd 1996 Riviera. Others were 1963, 1967 GS (what a car!) and 1971. I am getting a 1970 Riviera soon. I will not make a video until I do all I want to do with it. That will probably be before the end of 2022 if all goes well.

    I really like this car and I typically do not like GM cars from the 1990’s. You and the original owner took very good care of it and it shows. And I do like the wood trim and the Aurora wheels you added.

      I loved these wheels on this car. Many people think the emblem is an "A". No!! It is a stylized rocket. It was on all late model Olds, including the Intrigue.

    • @MostlyBuicks
      @MostlyBuicks  Месяц назад

      Yes, this is a 28 year old car. I bought my first 1957 Thunderbird in 1975. That made the car 18 years old at the time. The car that was the newest and also LATEST model I ever owned was a 2001 Cadillac ETC in 2011. That was a 10 year old car at the time. I have owned 89 cars, which includes junk parts cars. It was not until 2005 that I ever owned a later model car than 1972. In 2005 I had sold my 1965 Skylark, a GranSport tribute. That car being 40 years old at the time. I AM OLD. I consider a car newer than 1972 a NEW car! The oldest car that I owned at the time of ownership was my 1970 Electra (here on this channel) which was 53 years old at the time. These days there are so many scams and misrepresentations in collector's cars, I shy away from those that have been restored. I USED to restore my own cars. These days "restored" cars look good on the outside, but are useless for a car to actually drive. Most are meant to take to the local drive-in restaurant. They could not withstand a 5000 mile round trip like the cars I used to restore could. Hell they seldome even get the factory A/C working after having spent a fortune on the paint job! I drove my 1956 and 1957 T-Birds on such 5000 mile trips often.

    I was 15 or 16 when this bodystyle came out and I was totally wanting one! I still love the way these look. BTW in 1999 or 2000 I worked at a GM dealer washing cars after i graduated high school and I sat in a fully loaded tan color or champane colored loaded up Aurora and it took my breath away. Those are beauties still in my opinion but there are none around anymore sadly. Your Riviera is a beauty!

    I’ve had two of these. Insanely durable and affordable cars! You can hammer them down washboard at 80 if all the suspension joints are solid and the shocks aren’t blown. I took them off-roading several times to get to camping spots. Absolutely killer in snow too. My current one I got for 700bucks and piled 16,000 miles on it over a year. All I’ve replaced is the belt tensioner, supercharger coupler and tranny filter. Gotta do valve covers but it’s being retired to my run around town car since I acquired my 96 Roadmaster

    But I feel if I got the svt contour of still crave this car.
    I let one slip away just two weeks ago and I'm regreting contemplating the purchase instead of grabbing it as I'm terrified I may not get the chance to buy a good clean one again.
    I love how the delco stereo looks in this car. Mann.... But if have to go with a new modern stereo with a screen as it's a perfect placement for navigation reverse cam etc.
    What wish this car came with that the GRAND PRIX GTP came with is a H.U.D. heads-up display.
    Dude this car is amazing. I hate to say it but I'm borderline obsessed with this car.

    This car is worth at the most $6500-$7000. I tried to come and look at it. I didn’t answer his email about it until a day later and I called to put a time together to view it. He went off on me-totally bonkers and told me off without any justification.
    This guy is seriously deranged. Hope he gets some help and soon.

    • @MostlyBuicks
      @MostlyBuicks  2 года назад +3

      So you did not SEE it and yet you know how much it is worth? You sent me an email FRIDAY at 6:15PM. I answered your email 6:59 PM on that same evening. I sent two subsequent emails that evening with my phone number and a link to this video. You did not respond. Not even a "thank you". You had requested to see the car Sunday afternoon. I was not going to me home then. I offered to show you the car anytime Saturday (which was the day after your email) or anytime Sunday morning. It was THREE days later before you responded. You chose to not respond to me until Monday afternoon, wanting to see the car NOW. I was not home. Had you been courteous enough to at least let me know you got my messages and then asked to make another appointment, things could have progressed.
      You asked for my address and yet did not have pen and paper in hand to write it down. AND my address is published on the listing (not eBay) already. I made a character judgement and decided I would rather eat nails than show such a clumsy dimwit as yourself this car. I do not need the trouble. Now that I KNOW you do not think the car is worth more than $7000, I am glad I did not waste my time. Did you notice the other 1996 Rivera on my channel? It sold for $9500 and does not have sunroof, heated seat nor memory seat. And it is not a rust-free AZ/CA car. It is from Chicago.
      I am kind, polite and respectful until I am not. I do not suffer fools lightly. And I have no tolerance for people who are not respectful and courteous. Once you piss me off, I do go bonkers. It is funny the OTHER two people who came to see the car got along fine with me as I did with them, on email, on the phone and in person. They had advanced communication skills. They were experienced and courteous. No they did not buy the car, but we parted quite amicably. One person I will probably meet again via the love of cars connection.
      Note to any potential buyer: I do not NEED to sell any car I put up for sale. The minute I detect you THINK you have some advantage over me (whether you do or not), all bets are off. I just as soon give this car to a friend or family than to deal with any bullshit. Heck even Psycho Killers hate people when they are not polite, and wonder if you say something once, why say it again?
