Absolutely DELIGHTED to see in your homestead, Gaz. Been following you since the (almost) beginning and it's so inspiring to see your growth. Noticed that you're one of the few who is growing straight from the ground--no raised beds or containers. It would be excellent to see videos on: 1. Why you felt your soil would work (is not toxic and suitable for growing) 2. The cost of various projects like the greenhouse your dad helped with, any gardening supplies, etc. 3. The overall cost of starting, maintaining , and expanding your garden.

Here in the PNW of the US, It's been pretty cool (about 14 degrees C.) My garden is poking along! Did you know that fig leaves taste like coconut? I don't want the fat in coconut, so I make fig leaf tea and then blend cashews into the tea to make my "coconut milk.'

You have some great ideas for plant based meals. I'm certainly going to try some of them. My only point, being a fellow veg grower and self-sufficient wanna-be, is could you consider using more fruit and vegetables that are seasonal. Your last recipe used leeks, but our leeks from last year were dug up months ago and this year's leeks are the size of spring onions. Your veg plot looks amazing btw.

When I tell you all you should RUN, not walk to the kitchen and make that bean stew, I'm not kidding!
I made a few minor changes with what I had in the pantry (added soy sauce and dried sage instead of fresh and used canned butter beans), nothing too far away from the original recipe.
My partner completely devoured his portion and literally cleaned his plate with some remaining bread, like we all used to do when we were children.
On my end, I'll be sure to make it with dried butter beans next time, since Gaz's final result is creamier than what I achieved with canned beans.
I already bookmarked this recipe and will share it with my family and friends ❤️

You should try growing butter beans, they are great to keep dried and use as you want all year. Two varieties have been great performers for me, Spagno Bianco and Greek Gigantes, they are types of runner beans and boy do they run! I wrote down your beetburger recipe on the website, but you said add the tomato puree but its not in the ingredient list, how much do you use? And can I sub some of that coconut oil in the banana bread with apple sauce? We're reducing oils as we can. Love you channel and i remem er way back when you had your dad on!
