Hi Matt Well the Fold/Flip concept many carrier have adapted has been nothing short of amazing. Haven’t used it myself - as I’ve been “loyal” to Apple, but I’ve been rather curious as to what the experience would be like. Def would prever the flip over the fold though. I can see it having various advantages, but then again I can’t help but wonder - “how long will my screen last with all this flipping”? Would be keen to know others opinion about that. For the Apple product upgrade - I new iPhone would be greatly appreciated. Or perhaps this is my year to acquire my very first MacBook! Have a blessed one mate - cheers
Well to be honest it’s going have to be really unique for anyone to consider the rollable would be the best patent that Apple must develop but not for 17 maybe for iPhone 18 or 19 or whatever they going to call it but it’s rather interesting to see what they actually do looking to get the series 9 and possibly iPhone 16 pro max

If they replace the iPad mini with a large iPhone Fold, I would buy my first iPhone and go all in on the Apple ecosystem. I honestly don't care for smart phones but use tablets, eReaders, and loved how the original Macbook Air and iPad mini could fit in my minimalist bicycle bag. It'd make it easier to check/edit photos seriously on the spot.

Not buying an Apple in 2024. Getting tired of waiting for a foldable. Will never buy a flip. About ready for an upgrade. If nothing comes out this year to confirm, I’ll probably try out the One+ and say bye to Apple.
My prediction of what I maybe looking at getting is the new Apple Vision Pro it would be great for my Apple eco system, I also am so very keen on the new Mac book airs love my M1 iMac so am looking at investing in a Mackbook air or MacBook Pro for travel but with these M2 & the new M3’s coming out these days the Mac book air M2 is pretty fast going the extra $$$$ for the MacBook Pro isn’t as exciting now as they used to be 😊

You make a good point. My daughter needs a computer for high school. They would provide her with a Chromebook (nooooo!) I was just thinking about an iPad Air with a Magic Keyboard. That might be the best way to go rather than a Macbook air. She's never used an Apple laptop. I think the iPad is just more intuitive for her (having used one her whole life!!)
I promise you you will pay an extra $1,000 on the fantasy the iPad Pro can replace a laptop. The hardware can, yes, but the software can't, and Apple does it on purpose. The two most crucial aspects of a laptop are fully resizable windows and the file system, both of which have been hacked to death by Apple for something inferior. If you are fooled by the paid off advertisers that the Magic Keyboard is somehow magical, again, forget it. It is the most insanely overpriced basic keyboard I've ever used. It is very very heavy. The weight will far surpass any ultraportable laptop. Your iPad will tip over on your lap in many circumstances. Certain situations, your iPad will pop off and fall the ground. Hope you don't break that screen. There is no edge protection unless you pay an extra $70 on top of the stupid dumb cost of the Magic Keyboard. Will you love the hardware? Yes you will. Will you love that you paid a 50% Apple Tax hike just for the tablet, and another 300% Apple Tax hike on the Magic Keyboard? Seriously, if you would get mad being charged those tax rates by Uncle Same every time you bought a coffee, you absolutely should feel the same way towards Apple. Buy an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 and save yourself $1,000. The M1 is more powerful than you'll ever need. The min-LED is great. You'll never notice the difference without side to side comparison. Nothing the M3 iPad offers is worth $1,000. Nothing. If you still feel the need to throw away your money, please send it to me. I will make far better use of it.

This past year, I’ve switched from Android for Apple. Both in an iPhone 14 Pro and a 10th Gen iPad. Now that I’m in that ecosystem, I plan to migrate from a Windows PC to a MacBook at some point this year. I look forward to having all of my devices working together in a more seamless way. Also, I love my iPhone and iPad so much that I would be thrilled to upgrade to a foldable to would give me the best of both worlds.
Opposite for me. Both my macbook airs (intel and M1) had issues in just 1 year 6 months (dead pixels and dead logic board). The repair is ludicrous that I can almost buy a brand new macbook laptop. I am going back to a Windows laptop after those horrible experiences.

To start off I have two phones.....an iPhone 15 and a Samsung Fold 5. I was totally sold on Apple products WHEN Apple was a leader and was innovative. That was when Steve Jobs was the captain of the ship. Everyone followed them. That isn't the case anymore. The iPhone has changed very little over the past several years and has not been innovated. Samsung has stepped into that position and Apple is getting further and further behind. You can say they cared about quality and use that excuse for their lack of creativity but it doesn't hold water. They have had their mistakes and poor quality in phones in the past and will continue to. Stay with iPhones if it makes you feel good but unless they change their phones I will completely go with Samsung.

Answering your contest question, what hardware for 2024, I'm getting around to replacing my 13.3" MacBook Pro having Intel i5/16GB RAM/1TB SSD on board with a Mac Mini in configuration with M2 Pro 12/19/16 processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD. I think that such a configuration is quietly enough to work with virtualized environments.
In 2024 I plan to replace my wife's old MacBookPro from 2012 (which is still functioning, but is very slow by today's standards) for this exact computer that you have in your hands - the M2 MacBook Air with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM. I wish I could get it! I have the iPad Pro with M2 chip that I bought last year, which is very good, so maybe I will skip this 2024 generation. When I run remote play or watch movies on apps there are no issues on my Fold 3. It's a great phone. When I pick up my S23 Ultra. I'm still gonna use my phone that's how awesome it is. I think the Roll devices would be better 1.5 to 2.5 inch movement on phones….. I’m thinking in future we see a MacBook Air with fold or Roll soon with touchscreen that will work similar to Microsoft surface Pro .

Apple could do a lot of things.... But they won't. The LGG8X and LGV60 were the best dual screen implementations of a dual screen phone. The OnePlus Open is truly the current King of folding phones. Open Canvas is too incredible a UI . Even Google and Samsung are about to copy the form factor. Plus they and Honor have barely a crease. Apple buys it's display screens from LG & Samsung like everyone else so they won't ever adopt folding phones until they can manufacturer their own screens. So prepare to stay jealous of Android users for having all the cool features while Apple remains stagnant and "safe".

I’m thinking through a few Apple purchases for 2024. I’m a UI UX designer and am thinking to purchase a Vision Pro if just to learn and design for the new UI. If not for continuing education, I might otherwise wait for a second gen or Vision Air. Also, on the fence about upgrading from iPhone 12 Plus to a 15 Pro. I still don’t see enough improvements to upgrade but may upgrade anyway before the trade-in value on the 12 Plus drops.

I would TOTALLY buy a foldable device, ideally a phone into an iPad. As someone who uses my iPad and iPhone religiously. To have them combined would be incredible. I think they would do better then the Vision Pro, since it would replace having two devices. Much like the iPhone replaced having a phone AND an iPod. They should have canned the Vision Pro and waited till they had tech for make apple glasses, would would be a great replacement for run of the mill glasses and could possibly revolutionize the vision industry. I'll be buying an iPhone 16 Pro for my wife. The reason we skipped the 15 pro is because it didn't come with the 5x zoom that was only included on the 15 Pro Max, but the 16 pro will have it.
I plan to buy Ipad mini 6 (or 7 depending on specs and price). I'm using Ipad Pro 12,9 for 3d sculpting in Nomad, but it is not very portable. What appeals to me in Ipad minis (I had mini 5 some time ago) is their portability. I would use Ipad Pro working at desk with larger models, and mini for small quick assets in a park, cafe or a bus.
I'm glad somebody gave me gave me a server, actually another guy gave me a server as well that are now part of my Home Lab. I also salvaged PCs and laptops by simply adding SSDs and extra RAM that would have become eWaste. I'm learning practical skills instead of becoming an Apple lemming.
I use iPhone and iPad extensively everyday. But when it comes to iPad (12.9”), I don’t see the iPad OS is making good use of the extra space like how the Android foldable series of phone. Even the spilt screen is lacking behind the Android usability. Although it seems it should be quite easy for Apple to push iPad OS function to iPhone foldable, the benefit is yet to be seen.

If you are fooled by the paid off advertisers that the Magic Keyboard is somehow magical, again, forget it. It is the most insanely overpriced basic keyboard I've ever used. It is very very heavy. The weight will far surpass any ultraportable laptop. Your iPad will tip over on your lap in many circumstances. Certain situations, your iPad will pop off and fall the ground. Hope you don't break that screen. There is no edge protection unless you pay an extra $70 on top of the stupid dumb cost of the Magic Keyboard.
Will you love the hardware? Yes you will. Will you love that you paid a 50% Apple Tax hike just for the tablet, and another 300% Apple Tax hike on the Magic Keyboard? Seriously, if you would get mad being charged those tax rates by Uncle Same every time you bought a coffee, you absolutely should feel the same way towards Apple.
Buy an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 and save yourself $1,000. The M1 is more powerful than you'll ever need. The min-LED is great. You'll never notice the difference without side to side comparison. Nothing the M3 iPad offers is worth $1,000. Nothing.
If you still feel the need to throw away your money, please send it to me. I will make far better use of it.

This past year, I’ve switched from Android for Apple. Both in an iPhone 14 Pro and a 10th Gen iPad. Now that I’m in that ecosystem, I plan to migrate from a Windows PC to a MacBook at some point this year. I look forward to having all of my devices working together in a more seamless way. Also, I love my iPhone and iPad so much that I would be thrilled to upgrade to a foldable to would give me the best of both worlds.

Opposite for me. Both my macbook airs (intel and M1) had issues in just 1 year 6 months (dead pixels and dead logic board). The repair is ludicrous that I can almost buy a brand new macbook laptop. I am going back to a Windows laptop after those horrible experiences.

To start off I have two phones.....an iPhone 15 and a Samsung Fold 5. I was totally sold on Apple products WHEN Apple was a leader and was innovative. That was when Steve Jobs was the captain of the ship. Everyone followed them. That isn't the case anymore. The iPhone has changed very little over the past several years and has not been innovated. Samsung has stepped into that position and Apple is getting further and further behind. You can say they cared about quality and use that excuse for their lack of creativity but it doesn't hold water. They have had their mistakes and poor quality in phones in the past and will continue to. Stay with iPhones if it makes you feel good but unless they change their phones I will completely go with Samsung.
I’ve been in the apple ecosystem since the very first iPhone, but I’m NOT buying another iPhone until they make a large folding phone, not the little flip style that only becomes “standard” size when opened. My 13 pro max is still just fine, but I’m replacing it next year, hopefully apple gets their shit together and builds this. Otherwise, hello Samsung.

Answering your contest question, what hardware for 2024, I'm getting around to replacing my 13.3" MacBook Pro having Intel i5/16GB RAM/1TB SSD on board with a Mac Mini in configuration with M2 Pro 12/19/16 processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD. I think that such a configuration is quietly enough to work with virtualized environments.
In 2024 I plan to replace my wife's old MacBookPro from 2012 (which is still functioning, but is very slow by today's standards) for this exact computer that you have in your hands - the M2 MacBook Air with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM. I wish I could get it! I have the iPad Pro with M2 chip that I bought last year, which is very good, so maybe I will skip this 2024 generation. But I will replace my iPhone 15 Pro by the iPhone 16 Pro model!

When I run remote play or watch movies on apps there are no issues on my Fold 3. It's a great phone. When I pick up my S23 Ultra. I'm still gonna use my phone that's how awesome it is. My plan PlayStation, I'm watching movies on my phone 3. There's no competition and I love how I folds in half. So I can put it in my pocket.

I am an empty nester and my MacBook Air is so old, it does not stay charged, it gets hot, and I have to turn it off and let it rest. My iPhone is so old, it tweeks out on me, it is so slow, I can't hear. But, and, all my devices look pretty, because I take care of them. I think the Roll devices would be better 1.5 to 2.5 inch movement on phones….. I’m thinking in future we see a MacBook Air with fold or Roll soon with touchscreen that will work similar to Microsoft surface Pro .

The LGG8X and LGV60 were the best dual screen implementations of a dual screen phone.
The OnePlus Open is truly the current King of folding phones. Open Canvas is too incredible a UI . Even Google and Samsung are about to copy the form factor. Plus they and Honor have barely a crease. Apple buys it's display screens from LG & Samsung like everyone else so they won't ever adopt folding phones until they can manufacturer their own screens. So prepare to stay jealous of Android users for having all the cool features while Apple remains stagnant and "safe".

I’m thinking through a few Apple purchases for 2024. I’m a UI UX designer and am thinking to purchase a Vision Pro if just to learn and design for the new UI. If not for continuing education, I might otherwise wait for a second gen or Vision Air. Also, on the fence about upgrading from iPhone 12 Plus to a 15 Pro. I still don’t see enough improvements to upgrade but may upgrade anyway before the trade-in value on the 12 Plus drops.

Since i run both platforms of mobile devices currently using fold 5 and i like it. And the 6 is dropping soon. BUT IF apple actually pulls this off omfg im in the building!! They have the best customer service and repair service staff. And way more stores to go to locally then samsung.... smh
I would TOTALLY buy a foldable device, ideally a phone into an iPad. As someone who uses my iPad and iPhone religiously. To have them combined would be incredible. I think they would do better then the Vision Pro, since it would replace having two devices. Much like the iPhone replaced having a phone AND an iPod. They should have canned the Vision Pro and waited till they had tech for make apple glasses, would would be a great replacement for run of the mill glasses and could possibly revolutionize the vision industry.

I'll be buying an iPhone 16 Pro for my wife. The reason we skipped the 15 pro is because it didn't come with the 5x zoom that was only included on the 15 Pro Max, but the 16 pro will have it.
I plan to buy Ipad mini 6 (or 7 depending on specs and price). I'm using Ipad Pro 12,9 for 3d sculpting in Nomad, but it is not very portable. What appeals to me in Ipad minis (I had mini 5 some time ago) is their portability. I would use Ipad Pro working at desk with larger models, and mini for small quick assets in a park, cafe or a bus.

I'm glad somebody gave me gave me a server, actually another guy gave me a server as well that are now part of my Home Lab. I also salvaged PCs and laptops by simply adding SSDs and extra RAM that would have become eWaste. I'm learning practical skills instead of becoming an Apple lemming.
I use iPhone and iPad extensively everyday. But when it comes to iPad (12.9”), I don’t see the iPad OS is making good use of the extra space like how the Android foldable series of phone. Even the spilt screen is lacking behind the Android usability. Although it seems it should be quite easy for Apple to push iPad OS function to iPhone foldable, the benefit is yet to be seen.
