- Guitar and Synthesizer demo of the washy oil-can echoes within the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Black Fountain V3 + Tap Tempo
The Black Fountain V3 sees Old Blood Noise take their iconic oil-can delay device to the next level. It still sports the same hazy reverberating echo tones that made it so popular, but expands it all with extended delay time, tap tempo, programmable expression and momentary self-oscillation, seeing the old echo soul within this device get all the modern trimmings needed in today’s rigs.

Great job with the demo.
Thank you!
Good to be back with another demo, gang. The Black Fountain was my first OBNE pedal ever. So it's a treat getting to demo the latest and greatest version of it. If you dig the demo, then please consider leaving a like or a comment. Would mean so much to me. Thanks for the support!
Said it before and I'll say it again. You always seem to find the best musical qualities of each pedal you demo, which is absolutely awesome. It makes your videos exiting to see even if you're not interested in the particular pedal 🤘🤘🤘🤘
My first pedal from them as well and here I am jealous as all hell of the V3
Your videos, so cozy though, keep going.
Whether I’m interested in the pedal or not, I always watch your demos Stefan. Such great work.
That really means a lot to me. Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
@@thepedalzone seriously great stuff and Alexander is right. your videos have a great energy and uplift my day. love your playing!
^^ this right here. you get beautiful settings/applications you don't see in other vids + synth fun :)
Oh man you’re touched 😅
"Back in my day, delays used to use OIL!"
"Sure grandpa, let's get you to bed"
👴
LOL. 😂👍🎈
If you hear “oil check” beware
This is legit one of the most beautiful pedals I’ve ever heard. Instantly gives me so many ideas for pieces of music.
Happy you like it! It definitely contains a ton of sonic mojo
That is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen.
Thank you very much!
I love what you did with the Microfreak at the end with this. The Black Fountain warmed it right up. Wow!
Cheers! Yeah, the Black Fountain really adds a nice warm contrast to the brighter digital synth tones.
Stefan your pedal reviews are the best! Beautiful playing too!!! THANK YOU
Stefan!!! Thanks for being awesome! I was thinking back and forth for quite a while now wether I should buy the Black Fountain V3 and I just sold two other pedals today, go online tonight and find this. Wonderful, musical, with so much passion and sense for strengh of the pedal itself, as always. Will order it right away. You're are the best in the business, man! Thanks!
Don't need the pedal but need your demos. Inspirational as always, makes me want to go and create these tones with my toys. Nice work Stefan.
Fantastic my friend! What exquisite combinations of sounds! 👌
Oh boy!! Thank you ❤️
An excellent demo as usual Stefan !
Everything is gorgeous, sound, melodies, synth and guitar lines.,we want more !
That means the world to me. Thank you! ❤️
I'm not just in love with the pedal, but also with your playing ! Great demo man !
You’re too kind! Thank you ❤️
It's so refreshing to see your videos. They really inspire me and help me see a whole new perspective when approaching pedals and guitar. Keep it up! 💥💪🏼
Awwww, man! Can’t explain how much that means to me. Thank you! Makes all the countless hours going into the videos totally worth it ❤️
This pedal contains many cool sounds. The added control features are really sweet. Great demo!
Cheers, man! Happy you liked it
6:24 i really like your playing here. really shows the potential
Thank you! Very kind of you
That guitar is sick! And your playing always compliments the pedal perfectly!
Thank you very very much ❤️🙏
I picked up the pedal and the synth because of your demos. I’m having so much fun with them on guitar, bass and synth in different ways!
That's super cool to hear! I like the dark moody reverberating contrast that the Black Fountain adds to brighter pristine sources like a synth and guitar.
Gotta love The Black Fountain, it’s such a Unique Delay
Sure is! Happy to hear you dig it as well
Man, I am so hyped for your top pedals of the year list. Hope it's soon. I just started getting big into pedals this past year so I'm curious if any of the ones I got already are on the list. You and a handful of other channels on here are my go to sources for pedals. :)
Magnificent demo stephan. I want one.
Awww, man! Thank you ❤️🙏
Such a beautiful pedal from OBNE...and what an amazing review Stefan!!...your play is always a pleasure to listen and get lost Somewhere in our mind and thoughts...made me purchase a Black Fountain! Best regards 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻💜
Man! What a kind comment. Thank you so much ❤
awesome job!!!
Thanks you!
Great video!
Thank you! Means a lot to me 🙏
Oh man. I firmly believe that the Catalinbread Adineko beats out the previous iterations of this pedal, but the addition of the tap tempo and the at-will self-oscillation makes this the clear winner.
Love the shaved head, man!
Well thank you!
Superb!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video
Thank you!!
OBNE killing it, yer playing killing it, lovely! every pedal needs an 'oscillate' / chaos button IMO
Awwww, man! Thanks! And yeah, momentary oscillation is everything. Black Fountain rocks 😊
I wonder who gave this video a thumbs-down, and what has gone wrong in their life. I feel bad for them. Maybe they need a hug. Well done, as usual sir. So much tooooone!
An oil rig killed my pa...... and raped my ma.... I hate oil
Must’ve been the spirit of Queen Elizabeth in a different timeline, poor soul
It was the Strymon guys. I seent it
Thank you.
You're welcome! Happy you liked it!
Another great demo man. Love the BF. And also the crew cut looks great. Sadly some of us have to say goodbye to our lovely strands early in life. I’m One as well 🤓🧑🏻🦲👴🏻👨🏻🦲
Wow great demo! First time I have watched your channel.. subscribed! ☺️
Thank you so much for the kind comment and thank you so much for subscribing. Means a ton to me!
@@thepedalzone I was just searching for Black Fountain demos, but I found so many cool pedals on your channel, now I don''t know what I want! haha :) That NU-33 looks awesome! keep up the good work.
That clean tone is incredible!
Thanks, man!

@@christsatanatl - Oh wow! Thank you so much. Means a ton to me :)
@@thepedalzone I did a rig rundown for Premier guitar that you may dig. Just search “whores rig rundown,” and it will pop up
Awesome Stefan. You put a lot out there. Synth use killer
Thank you so much 🙏
Oil cans are just the best! I use the one in my Alter Ego as a sort of cascading slapback, so lush.
Yeah, it's a great way to add some unique ambience to your tone
I have the v1 in a limited colorscheme and this pedal will propably never leave me. although you did some things, I need to try! sounding good as usual. :)
I’m honored to hear my demo gave you some new ideas to try out with your OG Black Fountain 😊
Cool pedal! Great demo too! The drums at the end jam hit me in the memory banks: Final Fantasy 7 "Turks Theme" by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu?
Where is your online guitar playing course?! Lol but seriously. I really enjoy your playing and picked up this pedal hoping you would demo it later and I could get the most out of it.
Good boy. Good job. Keep being real.
The good boy says thanks 😊🐶
@@thepedalzone woof woof
@thepedalzone stefan! can you please put up n isntrumental record inspired by all those wunderful sounding demos? man - i love your guitar playing and the synth part was just too good!
Pairing Black Fountain with Procession is pure magic🖤
Sure is! Happy you enjoyed it 😊🙏
Oh i was waiting for that review, great. I wonder how it compares to CTB Adineko?
Love it man! Do you ever sell your pedals? I can only imagine that you’ve got like hundreds of pedals kicking round worth a ton! What do you do for work to pay for all these treasures my man
Great demo as always! Are you going to do one on the Fault you used?
Thank you! No current plans for a full Fault V2 demo. But you never know 😊
Awesome demo as always man!!! Seeing your obne expression slider made me think maybe I could ask you... I just got one and want to pair it up with my boss sy1. When I do, the pedal recognizes it for the sound hold feature (down on slider is off, up is on) but I want it to move the tone knob. Any idea? Works perfect with the drag control on my Afterneath V3? No worries if you don't know, but if you do I'd be pumped 🍻
Sometimes, I'm curious creative way you'll use some pedals. The main ones on my list the Boss TE-2 and Eventide Blackhole.
your demos are always the best. I know you always demo the weird and nice ambient styled pedals, but it'd be cool to see you demo something like the Mooer a7 or JOYO Atmosphere! They got that ambient vibe but are nice and cheap!
This pedal with a tone knob for the repeats would be epic! The Organ mode is to die for... Standard pickups in that jazzmaster Stefan? A Fender Squier has never sound that good to me :)
I’m all for flexibility, so a tone knob version could be cool 😊 Organ mode is awesome. Just the perfect slapback tone. And yeah, everything about that Jazzmaster is 100% stock. It’s just a phenomenal guitar
I don't have any Old Blood pedals, time to fix that glitch. 2:00-2:30, simply terrific playing and use of the pedals best feature!
Had to edit...I just grabbed this for $140 on Reverb...the only thing better than cool pedals. Cheap, cool pedals.
I have the MOOD so could you say I have half of one of their pedals?
Awesome demo! Would you consider doing a demo of the supermoon chrome by Mr Black? I love that reverb pedal and would love to hear you demo it to make some sweet sounds.
Happy you enjoyed the demo. Means a lot! I don't own any Mr.Black pedals, so it's gonna be tough for me to do any demos there. But he seems to make great gear, for sure.
@@thepedalzone No worries! Keep up the great videos!
Super curious how it sounds BEFORE drive or fuzz
Great Shirt! ;-)
great sound
Thanks!
Do you have a link to any of your music? I love your playing style
That guitar
Cheers! 🎸
[Buys it]
Rad!
I almost bought this pedal years ago but opted out from lack of tap, now who knows 🤷🏻♂️
Definitely give it a go. That tap tempo and programmable expression definitely made an already good thing even better 😊
I have a hard time choosing between this and the dispatch master. I know they're very different pedals. But id like to just have an ambient pedal to kick on and make a song instantly prettier and i feel like both those pedals do that so well.
Guess it all comes down to what kind of ambience you want. Dispatch MAster definitely delivers more pristine and precise ambience, whereas Black Fountain delivers really dark, moody and gritty vintage atmospheres. As you say, they are very different, and only you and your musical preferences hold the answer. Hope you figure it out. But if you have more questions about the two, then don't hesitate to ask :)
@@thepedalzone with the really general question I asked, I wasn't hopeful I'd get a helpful answer, but that was actually really helpful. Thanks.
I recently got this pedal based on this video, been having some issues figuring out the unity gain though, Modern mode volume is usually low while vintage mode is often super loud. at just above 50% vintage mode sounds okay but now I can barely hear modern mode at all. whenever I set it so up higher so that I can hear
Modern mode better, vintage mode just becomes super loud, not sure if its maybe my pedal thats screwed up or if I'm doing something wrong.
Honored to hear you picked up the pedal on the back of my demo. Warms my heart
Where did you get that pickgaurd? Gives that gutiar a whole new vibe.
Happy you like it. Richard of Indra Guitars made it. He's a hella talented dude
Did you change out the pickguard and plate on the Jennings?
Indeed I did
Stefan, what tuning were you using on this demo?
EAEABE. The Jennings is tuned a whole step down from that, so it’s in DGDGAD
Black fountain or adineko? Lovvv what you share btw..many thx
If you want truly authentic oil can delay tones, then Black Fountain. It just nails those tones perfectly with its sirupy sweet and warm echoes that sit somewhere between reverb and delay. Adineko is really cool as well, but sounds way more modern to my ears, and will deliver more classic percussive modulated delay tones. All depends on what you want.
@@thepedalzone Thx Stefan,
Never warmed to oil can delay
That’s weird. There’s enough warmth in those echoes to supply an entire town with heat 🔥😊 Joking aside, it’s all good. We’re not meant to connect with everything out there. Have a good one, bud! 🙏
Bald and bearded is beautiful
I also have a black t type with a gold pickguard
Dude as FZ said “ Shut up n play yer geetar ‘
Are you in standard tuning?
No. I’m in EAEABE
Wouldn't even know its all digital unless they told ya. Not that it actually matters.
Yeah, it nails those analog vibes
@@thepedalzone well thats something we can both agree on. I wonder if you agree though to show me them man nips.
@@thepedalzone you know I'm kidding man. Glad you're back at it with the vids and stuff. Creativity comes and go with the tides. You can't force it and breaks are nice every once in awhile. Im pretty sure most all of us will still be around afterwards when you come back whenever you must go for a little. High five! ....now about those man nips.....
It’s a nice sounding delay for sure, but I don’t know if it’s a good oil can delay emulation. Way too polite and modern sounding, not chaotic and swampy enough.
bro, your shaved head looks awesome, whhy u hiding it all the time,? get over it, you got a good shaped head, lucky bastard, im bald but my head is LARGE haha
Thank you! I’m not hiding it. You can clearly see it in several playing examples in my videos. I just like wearing my cap as well. Hope that’s okay 👌
I've abandoned my child!! I'VE ABANDONED MY CHILD!!!
?
@@thepedalzone You ever seen the movie "There Will Be Blood"? This pedal reminds me of it! It's about an oil man, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, great flick! Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead did the soundtrack.
