I've been playing my for two months now and WOW! I am a sucker for stereo pedals, I have this ad the end of my board. My favorite setting right now is a slight stereo image / chorus with a little distortion. The Violence side is amazing when you run other reverbs and delays into it. I love sticking stereo pedals at the end of the chain, because I feel it essentially turns any mono pedal/board into stereo and this does it the best. I think of it as a Strymon Deco that went to college and started listening to MBV and became really cool. I love this thing.
Hahahaha! Strymon Deco that started listening to MBV. This is the best pedal description I've ever encountered. Thank you so much for the laugh. And I totally think you're right. There's no better way to describe this amazing pedal ❤
Old Blood is my fave pedal co. Brady and boys are so cool and sooo creative. Best demo of this pedal I've seen. Your song in the beginning is incredibly good!!!! Cheers from Detroit Michigan. ✌

Loved the sounds you created here and being a way for people to get one on your side of the pond. It’s such a wonderful sonic joy to play.
Definitely an instant fave of mine as well. It just sounds so good, and it's absolutely monumental in stereo. I'm impressed by how many sounds they packed into this incredibly simple interface. Pure genius. Thanks for the kind words about the demo, Jo. Always means a lot to me :)

What a perfect way to demonstrate how damn cool this pedal is! Wonderful songwriting. Gave me chills. And I'm a sucker for your synth section. Great work sir, bloody incredible pedal.

LOVE the song you wrote at the beginning. And great work showing off the surprising versatility of this pedal. I got mine as soon as it was announced and it hasn't left my board since. I love to run my Plumes at low gain into screen, then into violence, then into the amp with a sunlight reverb in the fx loop. It's got a doomgaze vibe to it that I'm obsessed with. Glad you finally got to use it!
Thank you so much! I'm happy to hear you think my demo highlighted the versatility of this pedal, because it is indeed a surprising wealth of useful tones that are hidden behind that ultra-simple user interface. we say all the time that the companies should pay you, for all the pedals you sell, but today i learned that you're a double-agent: you also probably kept me from returning this thing. i play with all the knobs and toggles and it sounds ineffectual; i go back here and see all these magic settings. thanks for putting the little headers next to the shot of the pedal with its settings; i just took photos of all of them on my phone.
Honored to hear that my demo has made you give this pedal a second chance. I love Screen Violence dearly, and it's become an essential part of my rig. Remember that my settings might not translate 100% to you and your rig, since we both have different gear setups and playing styles. My best advice with Screen Violence is that a little goes a long way. All of the controls cover a really wide range of tones, so if you feel like something is muddy, then try and back Mix or Gain back a bit, and remember to leave the FIRST toggle pointing towards the Violence side, if you want classic (and more pristine) dirt into ambience action.
You are welcome! But seriously, make an album. I start watching your videos for the pedals and then I end up fast forwarding back to the tunes. It would be way more convenient if there was at least a playlist... 😅
Haha I was referring to the post-hardcore band Casey. Your song reminded me of them mixed with some explosions in the sky good stuff man. Absolutely incredible tones, you gained another subscriber ❤
Hi Stefan, thank you for yet another great demo! I’ve had the Screen Violence for awhile & it does amazing things. I just haven’t been able to fit it into my regular board, which is wah > Pitchfork > Black Fountain > MXR Carbon Copy > Walrus Fathom (or Neunaber Wet) > Fabrikat > Looper. I tried putting it in place of the Fabrikat, and while it sounded great, I missed the Fab & all it does. Tonight I tried taking out both the Carbon Copy & Fathom & putting SV in there….I’m just not sure the Screen Violence and Fabrikat get along, though :( They both have strong personalities, and things are complicated by the fact that I play violin, not guitar, and the tone felt a bit overwhelmed. Still, I could see where a shoegaze guitarist would love this pedal. Violinists have somewhat different needs, but I plan on keeping this around as a change of pace pedal for studio use. Thank you for inspiring me to dig into it more!
What a cool song that you wrote man wow !!! I seriously can’t tell you how much I love your channel and how much I get inspired by your videos to write new songs by myself for my post rock band. If you get the chance you should definitely try other offerings for this type of pedal from Polar Beat effects from Croatia and Holy Island Audio from the UK. Both absolutely stunning pedals. Awwww, man! Thank you so much. Your kindness goes straight to heart ❤ Yeah, Polarbear and Holy Island seem like pretty cool brands. Hope to check them out in the future.
Great reviews of a great pedal. It's great to see some of the US devices being marketed over here. PS, I've just discovered that you can't ship to the UK at present. I find this a lot since my neighbours voted to cut ties with our biggest trading partner. I used to build a few pedals. I used to ship 30% abroad, I stopped in the end. There were too many complications for me and my customers.
Welcome! Awesome to have you here. And thank you for the kind words ❤ Regarding the pickguard, it was made by Indra Guitars. He's amazing to work with.
I had no idea this was a distortion/reverb two in one pedal. I remember seeing on OBNE site but couldn't really tell what it was about nor did I see to many people talking about it. Thanks for bringing out this video for us to get a glimpse of this pedal. I think the Screen Violence sounds much better than the When the sun explodes, at least imo. (though when the sun explodes has possibly the coolest art on a pedal) Didn't like the sound of the distortion on the Sun explodes, the reverb was great though. This seems like a solid combo of both. Also, is your J. Mascis Jazzmaster pick ups stock or did you switch them out? I had to sell my Mascis Jazzmaster 2 years ago when money was tight and have been really missing it. Sucks that its also discontinued as of now so you can only get it secondhand. That Jazzmaster totally changed my opinion on Squier just being cheap crappy beginner guitars.
Cheers! Happy you enjoyed the sounds. Sure, I can do a video on how I use the IR200. My use is honestly very basic though, just a slight variation of Preset 1. That Natural amp sounds amazing to my ears. A really great pedal platform sound.
Thank you so much! Don't have any solo music out, but you're welcome to check out my former bands "Sky Architects", "Don't Come Looking For Us" and "Cloud Anthems"
Yeah, this thing is deceptively versatile. The controls are so bone-head simple, but together they hold so many incredible tones and textures. OBNE and CHVRCHES really knocked it out of the park with Screen Violence. The drum VST is Toontrack Ezdrummer 3 with their Post-rock EZX Expansion Pack installed.
Also, btw when did you buy your Baum Wingman you are playing here, as it seems (from the colour) the same year as my Baum Backwing? I bought mine in June. I will eventually buy the Wingman too 😅

@@thepedalzone NO ONE BELIEVES YOU! Love your playing, love your positivity, love your channel. I dream of making an album around your riffs, one day. Everything's so inspirational, keep up the amazing work.
Hello, again I would like to get an OBNE reverb/delay to go infront of my BOSS OS-2 Distortion to get similar giant distorted sounds like yours in this video but without copying the CHVRCHES sound completely. Do you think the OBNE Dark Star would do the trick? If not please recommend something else, preferably from your store, as I owe you my introduction to Postrock gear, sounds and techniques. It's my favourite channel.
I think Dark Star would be too dark and dense in its voicing, if what you're after is something similar to Screen Violence. Then OBNE Sunlight is probably more what you're after. I have a demo fo that pedal on my channel as well, and it's also available in my store. Thank you for the kind words and support. Can't express how much it means to me ❤
BTW, I would like to use it before distortion, like Screen before Violence. Do you think the Sunlight would do it, like in this video? A very early chain reverb, including clean-ish sounds. Please, let me know so I make an informed decision😊
I definitely do now! Hadn't heard about them before, but quickly gave it a listen after reading your comment. Sounds so good! Thanks for the recommendation :)
If you're referring to my Jazzmaster, then it's equipped with a Jazzmaster set from Righteous Sound pickups. So it's not the stock pickups you're hearing :)
Would you please please PLEASE consider offering Paypal or Banktransfer in the Pedalzone online shop? I was just about to order this pedal and then realised I don't even have a creditcard 😢
Done! 😊 Awesome! Really looking forward to putting the Screen Violence after my Memory Man with Hazarai for some massively overdriven pingpong drones ❤
The term Post-Rock shares the same douchebaggery as Elevated Horror created by critics trying to coin buzzwords. It's instrumental rock FFS Stop Posing or call it Poser-Rock since you are so insistent on trying to be different while not and still keeping the word Rock in it. Cool pedal
Post-Rock just means that you take the "normal" instrument set of rock (guitar, bass, drums) and add or substract instruments/effects to achieve something different from normal/classic (or even instrumental) rock. That's literally what Stephan does here, so maybe check your definitions before calling someone (or even an entire genre) a poser

You are my Eddie Van Halen as far as guitar goes. What tuning are you using on this total jam?
Well that's a first. Wow! Thank you so much. Beyond humbled and honored here
Best guitar pedal channel on youtube. Love your content, but you cost me a lot of money...lol
Oh boy! Thank you so much. Your kind comment really made my morning go from meh to marvellous ❤
Can't express how much it means to me ❤
@@thepedalzone Thanks a lot!
BTW, I would like to use it before distortion, like Screen before Violence. Do you think the Sunlight would do it, like in this video? A very early chain reverb, including clean-ish sounds. Please, let me know so I make an informed decision😊
Do you have a album out?
Not an album but a full soundtrack, right here: ruclips.net/video/lnIkHy1rtXQ/видео.html
Where is it available in Europe?
At my online shop: thepedalzone.com
@@thepedalzone ty!
Do you like Tristeza?
I definitely do now! Hadn't heard about them before, but quickly gave it a listen after reading your comment. Sounds so good! Thanks for the recommendation :)
P90s should not do that! I know they are more JM type but still! amazing. searching for pedals before xmas !! shh
We do bank transfers. Just reach out to sales@thepedalzone.com and we'll get you sorted :)
Done! 😊 Awesome! Really looking forward to putting the Screen Violence after my Memory Man with Hazarai for some massively overdriven pingpong drones ❤
What a beautiful car crash,i cannot turn away.
That would actually be a pretty killer post-rock song title 👌
Post rock is its own distinctive thing. Its not our fault you can't handle subgenres existing
All the flavours in the world and you choose to be salty.
