In 2004, George Jones celebrated 50 years as a country music legend with a tribute concert recorded for PBS's SOUNDSTAGE program. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the concert presents live performances of Jones's greatest hits by 20 country luminaries, including Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Kenny Chesney, and Martina McBride.

A Picture of Me (Without You)" is a country music song written by Norro Wilson and George Richey. According to Rich Kienzle's liner notes for the 1994 Sony retrospective The Essential George Jones: The Spirit of Country, the song was written specifically for Jones with co-writer Norro Wilson singing the song for George "imitating the Jones style to show how he wanted it sung. Even with the string arrangement, the country feel remained undiminished". The song is similar to an older Webb Pierce song called "That's Me Without You". It was originally recorded by George Jones, whose version peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1972. In his 1995 autobiography I Lived to Tell It All, Jones quoted lines from the song to describe his own sadness at the passing of his brother-in-law W.T. "Dub" Scroggins in 1993.
The song was covered by Lorrie Morgan on her 1991 album Something in Red. Morgan's version was released as the album's second single in June 1991 and reached #9 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in November 1991
Loretta Lynn Morgan : born June 27, 1959, was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and made her first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry at age 13, performing Fred Spielman and Janice Torre's "Paper Roses, so she is an American country music singer. She is the daughter of George Morgan, a country music singer who charted several hit singles between 1949 and his death in 1975.

I sang this song to my wife on our twentieth wedding anniversary eighteen years ago. I would have sang it again on our 38th this last year too but she passed away in January. This truly describes my life since then.

I had the surprise of my life, back in the summer of 1992, my son was 6 months old at this time. I had to run in the grocery store to get a few things for the 4 the of July party my family and I were having. I didn't pay attention to my surroundings when I got my baby out of car... Next thing I hear a lady say "bring that baby here" and I looked over my right shoulder and there standing in a bus door way was Lorrie Morgan!!!!! I walked over and she took my son and kissed him on the forhead...... She was really super nice... I will never ever forget that day.

I feel like she’s singing this for me. My husband went home to Heaven Feb 7, 2020. I’m absolutely lost! We would’ve been married 50 years in June 26. Jimmy Roberson stole my heart the night I met him in 1969 at a Christmas party! We were married in June 1970 six months later! Everyone we knew gave us 2 weeks! I guess we showed them! I fell in love with him the night I met him and I will love him till I see him again! RIP Jimmy Roberson!
