Tamron 18-300 is my most use lens, amazing pice of art. Bought it for my ZV-E1 (ACP-S) but using it daily on my goof old A7S (full frame), perfect lens to just take it on a walk and shoot whatever you want from a far or close... daily use, nothing else comes close (got 26 Sony lenses Mount-E).

Solid yes this lens was an amazing pick up . In the future a fixed aperture would be awesome but what can you do for 599 lol. Tamron is on the rise for sure and it lets you spend money on accessories to or just save money ahaha .. thank you much more to come soon.
Thanks for your video. I plan to buy Sony 70-350mm G-Lens before, but found this Tamron lens, 18-300mm. It’s versatile with the range and minimum distance and the price is so good, but I should trade-off with the 50mm longer distance from Sony lens. This is difficult for me to make a decision.
I like Tamron lenses as well! It is going to be tough to choose between this lens and the Fuji 70-300mm for my Fuji XT-5. The XT-5 is my travel lens, so I am leaning toward the Tamron 18-300 so I won't need to change lenses so often.

I was about to buy this for the Sony A7iv that I have on order but didn't realize that the lens wasn't Full Frame. Looks like I'm going for the 28-200. It's too bad, because this would be an amazing range for a travel lens or just an all in one'er that you can cover everything when out and about. The 35-200 is good and can do F2.8, but no optical stabilizer. Oh well...
@@KipJackson Ya, I can still use it, but can't get full frame. I'll just go with the 28-200 and then a few more lenses to fill the gaps. But having an all in one that covered the majority of shots (plus stabilization) would be ideal for a relative newbie like me.
Tamron 18-300 vs Sony70-350 for wildlife, nature & landscape? Does the extra 50mm matter a lot? Because i think the wide end on Tamron might be better to be an all rounder lens rather than being just telephoto right? If you have both lens can you make a comparison between the 2? Especially the focal length comparison at extreme ends? That would be super helpful man! I don't think anyone's done that with these 2 lens cause I've watched many many videos😅

Whatever option keeps more money in your pocket at this point ! Both are great in terms of tamron ! I never used the Sony option but the less lenses you carry the more you can focus on actually getting the shot and carry other necessary gear
I have an A6000 and after 8 years it's almost dead, Viewfiner doesn't work, doesn't recognise the lens have the time. Anyway I have the 55-200mm Sony lens and all I photograph is wildlife, everything from Hummingbirds to Frogs. Would love to know if 18-300m is the next step up for me and also what new body should I get? The 55-200 doesn't cut the mustard anymore, it's crap aperture and just not crispy at all. People are suggesting A6400. My budget is around 1k USD.
As I wind down from my accidental purchase of the 18-300, trying to watch more reviews to not make me feel so bad for changing from the 17/70 that I did do much research for. My order got shipped to the wrong store and when I went in to pick up, wrong city. The folks at my local shop , based on my conversation, said I would be happy with the ability of this lens. I am a very very beginner that has owned my a6000 since 2014 and only shot less than 50 photos with it. Shame on me. This will be the last lens I buy due to time constraints s as bd as it sits in the box, do I return and wait for the other lens to show up. They are both the same price at $699
18-300 has so much range and it’s worth it ! If you can learn it shooting nature, people, yourself, landscape ! Can all happen with this lens ! I have it in my a6100 at all times especially traveling … 17-70 is great for video in my opinion for vlog/ content creation 18-300 is my preference for photos !

I would honestly test both to be honest because the 17 to 70 has a consistent aperture throughout while the range on the 18 to 300 is crazy and they are relatively both the same size with the exception of the fully extended 300 mm
@@KipJackson - that lens is tempting especially kicking my A7R2 into suoer35 mode and punching that up to 225 effective FL. EVERYTHING is getting hard to find, kinda scary.
I would like to see a comparison with the SEL 18-135 before, but unfortunately nobody did it by now. I use the 18-135 together with the SEL 70-350 to have all the focal lenghts covered. If the Tamron produces an equal or even better image quality within the range of said Sony lenses, i would like to replace both of them with the Tamron. I am ok with loosing the 50 mm at the long end. But i dont want to loose image quality, wich is good on both Sony lenses.
@@schnubbel76i have the 18-105 f/4 by Sony laying around.. which is a close comparison to the 18-135. But going to 300 is just amazing by TAMRON here along with keeping the macro focus all the up to 200mm. There should’ve been more creators doing reviews here about this lens tho i feel you on that

I love this lens just don’t recommend it on gimbals because the zoom throw makes it long and throw off the balance after a while

This is true but the Sony a 74 also has APSC mode I believe but the 35-200 is a good option to.

Tamron 18-300 vs Sony70-350 for wildlife, nature & landscape? Does the extra 50mm matter a lot? It's a different league, with tamron you won't change lenses often especially when traveling.
But for far objects, 50mm is significant.
Haha who puts a 300mm lens on a gimbal anyway. Seems like a great lens. I’d use it from 18-50 on a large gimbal.
