buddy of mine growing up had his mom rent this on VHS for us from local grocery video store. watched it 5x in 24 hours. one of my all time favorite horror movies.
@kdusel1991 seeing miller zant and Sadler when I first saw the box art in my aunts video rental section of their gas station in Alabama I was like this has to be a great movie
Excited for Saving Silverman episode. Watched it religiously as a kid on tape and just recently rewatched to find they must’ve added some scenes to a future release or maybe the DVD always had the scenes…either way wasn’t expecting some of those additional scenes. Like when Darren goes to the laundry mat with the nun…definitely not in the tape version I owned.
Y'all are always great together, Tim is easily becoming my favorite co-host for Hack The Movies. He's like the Sean to Tony's Joe, or the Joe to Tony's Sean... idk, I'm not good at metaphors.
This is one of my favorite horror-comedy films I've _ever_ seen. Everyone is so good in it, especially Billy Zane, who spends the entire movie devouring the set.
This movie was one of the last “perfectly entertaining” horror movies in theaters to me. It’s not iconic like Bram Stoker’s Dracula or the Fly, but it was SO entertaining and so much fun that it’s impossible NOT to want to watch it again real soon.
William Sadler was in the pilot episode of Tales from the Crypt. He was also in Bill and Ted playing the Reaper. Dick Miller was in an episode of Eerie Indiana, the 1991 version.
The cat knows how to keep you weak Tony. The cat is dominating your life with it's cuteness and it's time tables. I too know this pain, as I haven't slept through the entire night, in my own home, for probably 7 years now. But hey, your sleepy brainfog is producing some solid material here! So, keep it up! ;)
I found you from Adam does Movies! So glad you reviewed this movie. It’s so underrated mainly because of Billy Zane. He was so great in it and totally agree, the hero in Titanic lol. Thank you for reminding me how great this soundtrack was.
Tony i agree with you, the opening to tales freaked me out too. This movie is great, "my nipples our smoking" was always said between me and my friends
I don't remember how old I was when I first watched this, but I'm sure it was my first Tales From the Crypt experience, and I still love it to this day
I was able to talk my mom into taking me to see Demon Knights in theatres when I was 11 years old. Got to tell Ernest Dickerson that little story a few years ago when I worked on a TV show when he directed one of the episodes.
Finally!!! I've been waiting for this episode just as much as I had waited for the Jason X one. I'll watch it tonight, beer in hand. Cheers from Argentina!
I saw this movie in the theater, when it was over i walked out wearing my duster jacket i started whistling billy zane's tune and scared the shit out of a group of kids who watched the movie. It was great.
This movie kicks all the ass. Best Tales story and some of the best casting around. And the most 90s soundtrack of all time where you can't listen to Cemetery Gates the same way again 😂
I used to just watch the intro to this show as a kid cause it creeped me out but would always change the channel after. Went back and watched a lot of the episodes on RUclips as an adult and man this show was amazing! So many great episodes ! Never watched this movie though
We never had HBO. So I had to watch Tales from the Crypt all through the 90's with the white snow all over the screen. Sometimes, the white snow was so bad that you couldn't watch it. But it's so great now how you can pirate everything in DVD or HD quality.
Same here Tony, I hated the crypt keeper when I was little my family would torture me with it, I’d cry if they even hovered over it on the tv. Now I watch the show religiously, still holds up. I still have the cryptkeeper doll
I have the double movie dvd on my table. One of my favorites to watch. First rime i watched demon night i was in the country visiting my grabdparents for the weekend. The local store had movies to rent i i seen demon night. I asked my grandpa to rent ut and he said no. I got my cousin to rent it for me and we watched it at his place.
I saw an interview with Billy Zane where he said he based the collector off of the Genie from alladin and he specifically refrences the scene where he pulls the spong out of his mouth. I think thats what made that character so great, its basically an evil version of Robin Williams Genie
Thanks for briging back memories fom when i watcht it in theaters back in 1995 !!!!! I was only 11 years old 🥁🤣 Here in Puerto Rico🥁🇵🇷 it was easy to get in theaters🥁 much love you guys🥁✌🏽🥁✌🏽🥁 And had the soundtrack wen it came out🥁✌🏽🥁🤌🏽
I always had faint memories of this movie from my childhood but never looked it up until last November. It seems like after finally figuring out what these memories were from that soo many content creators are making videos about it now. Am I in a simulation built just for me? WHO CARES? My favorite movie review channel uploaded a video about it and I'm all in!
I'm kind of disappointed this episode isnt longer😢 I discovered this movie a few years back and I terribly regret watching Judge Dread instead of this way back in 1995.
I checked out the images, and you are right, Billy Zane does look almost exactly like Marlon Brando in the new biopic. Probably the closest an actor has ever looked to the real-world person they are portraying.
I was able to watch all of Tales from the Crypt on RUclips a few years back. I’m sure they’re still on here. It really sucks there’s no high def versions to be found anywhere. It loses steam real bad in the last season and a half but before that it’s gold (or maybe goul-ed).
I was born in 88. My mom and my siblings watched everything we shouldn’t have. TFTC, in living color, beavis and butt head, the Maxx. Pretty much every thing a kid shouldn’t see lol. Some of my best memories.Fucking love TFTC.
ok tony your always saying your aging horribly but....if your the guy on the left of the cryptkeeper par for the course man your on pace dont be too hard on yourself...now...if your batman hoodie boy....dam bro what happened...
They wouldn't let me into the theater because I didn't have my driver's license on me so I bought a ticket to Highlander 3 and snuck into the theater next door to see demon knight great experience and a lot of fun! on the soundtrack is dope especially 1-800 suicide by the grave diggaz shout out to Wu-Tang also filter is on there as well great movie soundtrack just a great film
"ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS GIVE US THE KEY! AND THEN WE COULD MOVE ON OUR LIVES!!!" Demon Knight is a classic Tale from the Crypt, a perfect embodiment of the pulp horror schlock the show delivers and a damn fine creature feature with a fun sense of humour and great dialogue. The sequel-cum-series finale Bordello of Blood however was an awful sex comedy and a pretty rotten way to end things in my opinion.
Signs was a stupid movie. It gets dumber every time I think about it, but I have to admit that when I first watched it I was drawn in. It was terrible, but on first viewing it worked and that's got to mean something. As for Demon Knight, it was awesome. Maybe my favorite thing about the movie is just seeing how much fun Billy Zane is having.

Tony has gone full Billy Zane in the membrane.
Billy Zane took this movie to a whole nother level. The rest of the cast were great, but who could top The Collector?
Billy Zane is hilarious in this!!
Nobody in the film had more playing their role as much as Billy Zane did playing The Collector.
He's hilarious! Plus it's always nice to see Dick Miller
No one had more playing!
*fun? :)
"...had more fun...". Oof. 😅
@kdusel1991 seeing miller zant and Sadler when I first saw the box art in my aunts video rental section of their gas station in Alabama I was like this has to be a great movie
Haven’t seen Demon Knight in FOREVER can’t wait for this Zanie “Zane” of a time
Tony suffering for our entertainment truly the Paul Heyman of movie reviewers, thank you wise man🙏

This is one of my favorite movies. Billy Zane is spectacular. The comedy is great. The gore is awesome, and the soundtrack is badass.
Billy Zane is hilarious in this! Also yay for Tim!!!
I feel like bartender Billy Zane was like a shout out or call back or whatever to fear and loathing Hunter S Thompson
This is one of my favorite horror-comedy films I've _ever_ seen. Everyone is so good in it, especially Billy Zane, who spends the entire movie devouring the set.

Thanks for all the content. Buckaroo Banzai had one of those end movie tags as well.
William Sadler was in the pilot episode of Tales from the Crypt. He was also in Bill and Ted playing the Reaper. Dick Miller was in an episode of Eerie Indiana, the 1991 version.
I went to Bordello of Blood in theater. I was the only one who bought a ticket. I got so high in there.
The cat knows how to keep you weak Tony. The cat is dominating your life with it's cuteness and it's time tables. I too know this pain, as I haven't slept through the entire night, in my own home, for probably 7 years now.

The entire series is available on RUclips! I've watched some of my favorite episodes, so far.
"Entangled" with an oven LMAO Tony trying to nonchalantly sneak that one in 😂 17:38
Bordello of blood next?
I found you from Adam does Movies! So glad you reviewed this movie. It’s so underrated mainly because of Billy Zane. He was so great in it and totally agree, the hero in Titanic lol. Thank you for reminding me how great this soundtrack was.
Brenda Bakke, you like Godzilla movies so might know her from Gunhed ..or Hot Shots Part Deux
Kicking myself for not buying the movie novelization at a school book fair.....in 1998
Tony i agree with you, the opening to tales freaked me out too. This movie is great, "my nipples our smoking" was always said between me and my friends
This movie was a childhood fever dream. I remember it coming on TV at around midnight. It was an unforgettable experience.
Great episode! Fun movie, great chemistry and jokes. Tony looking great for 24!
I don't remember how old I was when I first watched this, but I'm sure it was my first Tales From the Crypt experience, and I still love it to this day
For whatever reason, the shot of Crypt Keeper in the thumbnail reminds me of Paul Giamatti in Big Fat Liar.
He does kinda look like Paul Giamatti! 😂😂
Tony since you love Billy Zane you should check and see he's doing any appearance's at Comic Cons.
My introduction to Tales From the Crypt. Met a few people at conventions over the years and had Billy sign it with his " f this cowboy" quote.
I was able to talk my mom into taking me to see Demon Knights in theatres when I was 11 years old.
Got to tell Ernest Dickerson that little story a few years ago when I worked on a TV show when he directed one of the episodes.

does anyone ever actually finished watching your videos?
Finally!!! I've been waiting for this episode just as much as I had waited for the Jason X one. I'll watch it tonight, beer in hand. Cheers from Argentina!
Love this movie. Doesn't get talked about enough. Great video guys. Love when Tony brings on Uncle Bucks nephew
12:10 the band is Filter.
I saw this movie in the theater, when it was over i walked out wearing my duster jacket i started whistling billy zane's tune and scared the shit out of a group of kids who watched the movie. It was great.
Billy Zane’s career SOMEHOW declined after titanic, he should’ve gotten bigger roles after if anything, makes no sense.
Tales from the crypt was no joke my childhood. I was 3 years old watching it lol.
I, my mom and brother used to watch Tales from the Crypt while my dad was at work. Good times.
Tony long time listener love the show you and everyone there are doing a great job much love and respect 💯💪🔥

I hope one day to have 1/10th the amount of fun that billy Zane had making this
Love tony from hack the movies

I agree that Billy Zane is a good actor, he's also very charming and funny in every interview I've seen.
I have the double movie dvd on my table. One of my favorites to watch.

Hey Tony is the "night at the roxbury" review with Cayley an upcomig episode or an patreon exclsuive? I can't find it on youtube.
It will be on her channel
I'm kind of disappointed this episode isnt longer😢
I discovered this movie a few years back and I terribly regret watching Judge Dread instead of this way back in 1995.
Thanks for doing what you do, Tony.
Does this mean you’ll do Bordello of a blood as well?
I checked out the images, and you are right, Billy Zane does look almost exactly like Marlon Brando in the new biopic. Probably the closest an actor has ever looked to the real-world person they are portraying.
Billy Zane is the best! Please review The Phantom. Please.
I used “please” twice. Probably more than I said last year.
Low key one of my fav movies.
Billy zane goes God mode in this movie
Yes that is one of my favorite ones.
The song is by Filter, Tony. I think X Files movie #1 used it too.
Does anyone know what band is on Tim’s hat?
Death Lens! Good guys and great band!

There's technically another Tales from the Crypt movie that came out in the early 2000s called Ritual, starring Tim Curry and Jennifer Grey.
In Willie’s fantasy, I always thought that Billy Zane doing a Hunter S. Thompson impression or was that just me?
I was born in 88. My mom and my siblings watched everything we shouldn’t have. TFTC, in living color, beavis and butt head, the Maxx. Pretty much every thing a kid shouldn’t see lol. Some of my best memories.Fucking love TFTC.
I can't definitely relate to Billy Zane, having started to bald in my mid 20s.
Oh cmon, how you gonna forget Sadler as the president in Iron Man 3
My favorite movie I have palm tattooed with the stars

I thought Billy Zane said he was the demon knight
1:02:49 Am I the only one that liked Bordello more?
Yes
@HackTheMovies I'm ok with that. Please do one on Bordello!
Signs was a stupid movie. It gets dumber every time I think about it, but I have to admit that when I first watched it I was drawn in. It was terrible, but on first viewing it worked and that's got to mean something.

Its Vietnam
Whoa this dude looks quite unhealthy
