Test & Fix P0090 Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit / Open

In this video I explain how I test the Fuel Pressure control valve when there is P0090 Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Control Circuit/Open Fault code on GDI engines. I explain the Fuel Pressure Control Valve operation, I show you the wiring diagrams, I explain how to test the control valve with a multimeter and how to test the wiring.

Thank you sir. That explains why the GDI car goes into limp low power mode when fuel rail pressure sensor error P0191 occurs. But can you explain why it is happening very often in hill driving conditions? Removing the error from OBD port tool gets the car back to normal engine working. Thank you again🙏

Hi my friend. It could be the fuel pressure regulator bad performance under the load as it should regulate the high pressure pump at higher pressure when driving at high load.

Hi my friend. Kia and Hyundai vehicles have ECU upgrade which can be done only through their OEM scanner and online. But in case that you have repaired the ECU, you need a virgin file, I can’t recommend any website for that right now as many of them provide a bad/ unreliable files. Mechanics normally use their own trusted files.

Hi my friend. For Kia and Hyundai, the best source is GDS software which is their previous OEM scanner. It includes all diagrams and manuals.
