No. There are several other things that could be the problem. First check the fuse and relay for the fuel pump, then check the fuel pump itself. The intentention is to test the simplest and easily accessible components first (though some vehicles may be more accessible than others). Then systematically proceed. You do not want to waste time and/or money, and still have the problem continue. Example: There's no need to check the regulator if the fuel pump is not getting power, or maintaining the proper fuel pressure. Unfortunately, testing the fuel system components require equipment that are not common in a normal household. However, places like AutoZone, Advanced Auto, O'Reilly's, etc. have tool loaner services that with a deposit will loan cetain one-time use tools. Then, when you return the tool, you get your full deposit back. Just ensure you know how long each store's loan time is before getting the item. There are many RUclips video that can probably guide you better in solving your issue.
Oh what's with your car? Wow that could a be a sign that the fuel pressure regulator is not working properly. Allow me to reinstate that 10 more times even though you get the point 😂
1991 302 five liter HO , can a fuel regulator go so bad that it will hardly run or not even at all ? Not the ignition , runs fine on starting fluid ,,, !
My Buick Regal has a problem, I replaced it last year . Now my car runs well till you cut it off and let it set for more than 10mins. and it want start backup without waiting awhile or if you release the pressure from the Schrader valve it crankup but get gas all over your hand.
Some of the information in this video is bad. To operate properly, engines need fuel, spark, and air (assuming there are no problems with the starter). Within the first 6 seconds it says the regulator is likely the problem if there are engine related issues. However, to begin troubleshooting at the fuel pressure regulator is foolish. Example: There's no need to check the regulator if the fuel pump is not getting power, or delivering the proper fuel pressure to the regulator. The video even lists issues caused by other components that (if faulty) would affect the regulator's proper operation. There are systematic approaches to solving engine issues. RUclips has plenty of good channels with proper advice. Please do not start with the regultor when troubleshooting engine problems. Start with the appropriate fuses and relays, then go from there.
...could be a sign that the fuel pressure regulator is not working properly. Got it.
Oh right didn't get that in the video. Thanks for letting me know 😂
😂 doesn't sound like an AI voice but damn, change the script at least a little.
I am going to wake up screaming "IT COULD BE A SIGN THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY"!!!
Who would've known that the fuel pressure regulator being stuck could cause the fuel pressure regulator to fail
Your information was much more useful , well-done .
This was highly informative & detailed. When suspecting an issue with fuel system in general…would the regulator be the first thing to check?

How could you turn the engine on if battery is disconnected. You therefore cannot adjust f p.r

Jim again..... I would try the FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR first ! YT a bad sensor symptoms ! Sounds like you were experiencing !
My back left tail light is out, i just know it has something to do with the fuel pump regulator.

Great information.... Thanks 👍
My spare tire is flat, could it be from a faulty fuel pressure regulator?
Hey @truetruths8090 - your "fuel pressure regulator" joke is ... NOT funny!
even if the fuel pump is not working at all, it could still be the fuel pressure regulator, who would've thunk

Hey @stephenharbisonsr.4557 - better to get a smart mechanic to help ... if the mechanic can understand what you are trying to say !!
If you watch this video...could be a sign that the fuel pressure regulator is not working properly.
Ok had an episode one day it was hot day and it was running stalled out waited several minutes restarted then it was ok ???
Wait what fails
You just gotta love AI
Here’s a game, take a shot for every time he says ‘fuel pressure regulator’.

Only problem is that you can't find a competent, qualified mechanic.
OH MY GOD FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR
