I actually grow up eating žincica almost every day, you need to get one originally from Salaš or Košiar and it should be milky water with pieces of cheese inside and should be eaten with a spoon. Also when I was kid my father add lot of sugar into it so you can try that too and maybe you will like it more.

  • @MattSteph

I'm Slovak and I like most of our traditional food and the fact ist that I hate žinčica and bryndzove pirohy too (there is just too much of bryndza :D) .. Respect for your bravery Andre! Can't wait for more videos! You should definitely try our food, which is not from cheese: Buchty na pare (Parené buchty), Makové šúľance, Langoš, Segedínsky guláš, Ryžový nákyp, Jablková žemľovka, Dukátove buchtičky, Skalický trdelník... and if you looking for some traditional products from meat, try find meat from Štefan Knižka - their bacon and sausages are just GOD tier (they mix the best meat from beef, pork and deer and if I remember correctly, you can order something like a gift box for like 45 euro with best of their products and do something like a tasting video :D ) good luck!

Zincica was not about to make "great tasting drink", it was more of about to preserve waste from "ovci syr". So it doesn't get wasted. Not many people like it for the taste, but it's traditional... in past times, to lost anything edible was disaster, there was lots of hunger, powerty, and also wars. And there was no refrigator. So Zincica was about to eat also "waste product from ovci syr". So it was not very smart to expect best tasting drink.

Andre, there are two different types of zincica - sour and sweet. Seems, you tried the sour one. My don't like it neither so much. But sweet zincica is soooo delicious... find it and try it

it is acquired taste for sure. kefir and butter milk are smoother. zincica is sharp and more of like occasional drink. even shops do not sell it and that mean that people do not buy it as much in comparison to other two.

It is not really the taste that is important here but it is very beneficial to your health 😉

its not overrated. Its just our drink, so people has need to recommend that. I like more sweet version of žinčica. Try some dishes with mak and sugar. But only from good restaurant.

Co se mi líbí, že si před dětmi nedáváš alkohol. Vydržíš bez těch panáků borovičky, slivovice i piva.
