This is an amazing concept. A brick joke not within the duration of the joke but duration of an entire show to a new skit. It's so cool.

@@artisdying to simplify it, the setup of the punchline is the first sketch of this episode. This bar sketch here is the last one near the end of the episode. It's clever because it comes out of nowhere and it's unexpected and kinda like extends the ridiculousness of the setup sketch. You should look up the entire episode to understand. Sorry english isn't my first language
Wish SNL would have done that more.
A well placed brick joke can have amazing payoff. I recently experienced one that took a week between the original sketch and the call back. The audience died.

I’m not about to go through the 30+ year history up to this point to confirm, but this might be one of the first moments of sketch continuity within an episode of SNL. I think this is why I love the (for lack of a better term) Seth Meyers-era because the team realized that they had 90 mins of content to fill, so they can tell bigger stories/jokes as opposed to 90 mins of funny sketches/independent silliness
Darrell's House also comes to mind!
The Death of Buckwheat saga (which spreads over 3 episodes, with multiple sketches in each, not counting when Eddie comes back to host the next year) probably counts, too. There was also "Amerida," a faux-TV movie about Canada taking over the U.S. (a parody of the then-recent miniseries Amerika, about a USSR takeover) which segued directly into a Nightline examination of the movie (just as there was analysis by talking heads and newscasters of the real miniseries), which served essentially as 2 sketches. But it's rare.
There's a fine line between "continuity" and a runner, of course. I wouldn't count things like Larry the Lobster but some show-long stories like Billy Martin drinking, Francis Ford Coppola being brought in to direct, and Charles Grodin hosting after having "missed" rehearsal all come close, too.
Forte and Hamm have great chemistry. I would love a MacGruber/The Falcon crossover!

I had NO IDEA there was a sequel to the closet organizer guy! He's a long way from the Vatican giftshop! Hamm was in the original, fitting he was in the sequel as well!

I wrote like 15 book reports every week. I'd get books of short stories and write reports on every chapter during the bus ride to school. I was pimpin' the system from day one. My Mom wanted to kill me, cause I made her drive me to Pizza Hut four times a week to get my ill-gotten personal pan pizza, although now I'd rather eat one of those overpriced Scholastic books instead of a slice from "The Hut". Come to think of it, my abuse of the Book It campaign is most likely responsible for the Philadelphia School District budget crisis which still hampers it to this day..... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
