I sure know what you mean about the weather. Cloudy skies and too much rain really get me down. I thought I would surely not like the "brown" jacket, but it is GORGEOUS. You look very pretty in that fabric and style. I don't like collars, but maybe I can find a jacket/shacket without a collar.
The nice think about the utility jacket is you could make it without he collar. It has a neck and button facing that work together so you would simply not add the collar. I didn't think I'd like the brown either but I must say I'm liking it a lot. 😉😘
The jackets look so very nice on you. I love your hair do. I’m just doing a bit of sewing myself right now. I’m vacationing down in Florida visiting family. We come twice a year for a month or little more to spend time with our grandchildren. Oh I wish I could bottle up their energy and take a swallow each day. We have had chilly, windy, and wet weather in Florida but last couple of days nice & sunny. I’ve been working on toile bootstrap pants form and some bowl cozies for a friend.
I remember you saying you were heading down to Florida. What a great time to go south and get better weather too. I know what you mean about wanting to bottle the grandkids energy up. We've been. Childminding this weekend and we're exhausted. Happy sewing. 👍😉😘
I like your jackets on you and your fabrics are perfect for that. They look beautiful for Spring! I wish to send my sincere condolences to you both for the passing of your Mother-in-law. Happy Spring! April is right around the corner. 🪡
Hi there. Love the shirts you made. Always enjoy our visit. I'm noticing you look well rested. Spring is on its way so maybe we all will feel like getting busy again.
Oh we are definitely well rested Sheila. I think it's a welcome relief not having to make a 150 mile round trip to see his mother twice a week. Though we do miss her and talk about her regularly. It's just nice not to be rushing off all the time. 👍😉😘
I really like your jackets. A versatile style that can be dressed up or casual. I’ve been sewing with my stash fabric and patterns I haven’t tried. Happy sewing, Michou!
I just get so fed up of paying too much for the patterns. I understand why indie patterns are so expensive but I've bought so many that I haven't actually used. When I think of how much I've spent on them I'd have been better off just buying ready made garments. 🤔🤨😉😘
Can’t wait to see that top with the different sections, would look super in different colours, it really lends itself to colours even the collar I love the look of. Well it’s a bit thundery here, one mighty crack! the cat and myself jumped in unison😂, roll on a bit of warm. Xxx lots love xx
Ohoooo - THE FABRIC SHOP is where I bought all my dead stock Liberty fabrics on my recent trip to Australia and New Zealand! I didn’t visit their pattern section - who knew! Great jacket pattern. I can’t believe that you made a couple already. Loving your new pattern choices as well. Yayyyyy Michou!
I hope you had a great time Loriann. I've missed quite a bit of catching up with your travels this time. I've kind of buried my head into sewing lately since Brian's mum died. Kind of a release after spending so much time driving up and down to Leeds to see her. 😉👍😘
I'm with you regarding the weather Micheline 😏... It's been diabolical hasn't it. Loving your jackets 👌💖. Hope spring can give us some sewing inspiration ✊🥰😘
These jackets are amazing. The free pattern is so good. They don’t look home made at all. Some free patterns are so basic they are good but not flattering. I’m still a great advocate of spray starch for beefing up soft fabrics. I love making rayon revere collar shirts if the fabric is too slippy I iron the fabric with starch before I sew it really helps.
Now that's a good idea. I was going to make up a spary starch the other day but the grandkids pinched my last bit for making (of all things) SLIME!!!!! 😂😘
@@michoumakes I think savers and home bargains still sell cans of it. I’m a bit heavy handed with the powder, I once managed to turn a dress shirt into cardboard 🤣
Love your jackets especially the blue one which is my favourite colour. Fabric is treated with various 'finishing' products once it is made which washes off, so hence why fabrics always look a bit different once washed. I am also a big fan of chore jackets. I have made the Peppermint magazine West End jacket and the Ready to Sew Julien jacket which is my favourite. Ruth on 'Seam Stressed Ruth' highlighted a gorgeous one on Toast covered in sashiko stitching which has me itching to try to recreate it. Have just found your channel, so I will be back!
Love both jackets & they give a totally different look. Thank you for the info that the pattern is free I’ve been looking at free pattern or tops & blouses. Look forward to seeing what you decide to make next.❤
Love the Utility jackets on you....I watch what you make as I'm the same figure type and age as you... I had dismissed Utiity jackets thinking theyd look too boxy and bulky... but they look terrific on you! Do please please make the shirt dress soon...I have a sheet I was thinking of making a shirt dress with so particularly interested in that one!
Wish I’d found that pattern! …looks so much like Friday Pattern Co. Ilford, which I paid for last week … both of yours look brilliant, such good fits too.
Love the Jackets ❤ They look great on you. I'm going to see if I can sew myself one. Did you line yours or just use the canvas fabric. Thank you Michelin.
I really love your jackets and would very much like to make one. I haven't made a jacket yet and wonder if it is a difficult make, also wonder if the instructions are any good.

Your jackets are beautiful Michou, so versatile. Thanks. 😊

Oh thank you Janice. 😉👍😘

Thank you so much for both appreciating watching my vlog and for your lovely wishes for Brian's mum. 😉👍😘

Both jackets are terrific! How clever of you to find a free pattern😊

Oh dear. We've actually had a reasonably sunny half day! Poured the second half mind you. 😂

Hi again Sally. Roll on more than the odd sunny day in a week. It's no wonder they moan about the British constantly talking about the weather!!!😜❤️
Ah, the jackets have me itching to make one. The look great one you!
I have enjoyed making them. Still more planned to make too! 😜😉😘

Oooh those suggestions for jackets are new to me so I'm off to check them all out. Lovely to read that you enjoyed my vlog too. 👍😉😘

I've almost rattled off a rather snazzy shirt this evening. That'll be added to some of the other makes I've done in the next vlog. 😉😘👍
Wow I love them both 👍👍🥰
Thanks Eileen. 👍😉😘

I do like the style of the utility jacket. So versatile.
I have cut the shirt dress pattern out so it might happen soon. 😉😘
Love those jackets. You can dress them up or down. Will certainly download the pattern. Thank.
I agree. That's what I like about them too. 👍😘😉
Love those jackets good job 😊
thanks. 👍😉😘
Wish I’d found that pattern! …looks so much like Friday Pattern Co. Ilford, which I paid for last week … both of yours look brilliant, such good fits too.
Oh dear. Mind you I do like the Friday Pattern Co. Milford jacket. That would have been my go-to buy version. ✨😉😘
Gorgeous painting
We bought it in France many years ago. Cost much more than we thought but well worth it. 👍😘
I downloaded that pattern quite awhile ago you have motivated me to get at it😊
Wonderful! Give it a try Shari. 😉😘
there's a RUclips sew along too.
👍😉❤️
Love the jackets. Have you tried starching the blue jacket to get the body back to it?😊
Not yet but I plan to. Thanks. 😉😘
Love the Jackets ❤ They look great on you. I'm going to see if I can sew myself one. Did you line yours or just use the canvas fabric. Thank you Michelin.
The pattern was an unlined jacket. Who h in a way means it's a quick make I suppose. 👍😘
Love ur jackets
Thank you. 👍😘
thanks. they've been very successful A
and I have received many compliments about them. So that's a positive. 👍😉😘❤️
❤
I really love your jackets and would very much like to make one. I haven't made a jacket yet and wonder if it is a difficult make, also wonder if the instructions are any good.
Hi Jennifer. If you go to you tube and search for Paola jacket sew along by Sew Happy. Age does a really good sew along for it. 👍😉😘
Both are very nice! Did you try spraying starch before ironing to give you more body?
Not yet but I plan to get around to trying it. 👍😉😘
I like your jackets very much, and I like the blue sweater fleece you were wearing. Did you make that too, and if so, which pattern was it?
Ah regrettably the fleece top was a bought one but I do agree it's a lovely top and I'd love to find a similar pattern to it. 👍😉😘
