I picked the wrong store bought dress. I thought the bright fabric of the store bought dress was more your usual make, so I thought that was made by you. Loved the new tops. I have a top that is too big on the bottom that the draw sting would work perfectly on. Thanks for the tip! I have recently fixed two tops (that I rarely wore) and felt like I had new blouses to wear. Now I can alter a third. Free clothes, ha ha. Thank you for the great “visit”!
I like a long top but being short I'm not sure it's flattering. So this little drawstring trick adds a little bit of what we french would say "je ne sais quoi" (a little something) to make it look different. 👍😉😘
I like all of the tops you have made and the side drawstring is a nice addition. I have a Simplicity pattern that is similar, but I haven’t made it. Both of the dresses are lovely. I actually guessed which one is handmade 😊 Happy sewing, Micheline!
I picked the right dress. Yours is LOVELY. I really like your tops, too. The side synching adds just the right detail. Enjoy your precious grandchildren ❤
I have bought clothes with the eye to making my own. I have cut apart a ready made garment to find just how cheaply and shoddily they were made. I figure if I take them apart, make a pattern, straighten out and adjust their lopsided cuts that I can make a better looking garment than the one I purchased in the first place. Love it when the stash starts shrinking.......but then, the clothes closet starts getting over packed with hanging clothes. 😂
Lovely to have another blog & hear what you have been up to. Love the tops you made, they look great & pleased you managed to use one of the fabrics I sent. Enjoy your weekend & take care Ali ❤
Well done You have made lovely replica of the store bought tops I like the dress you made better The fabric is beautiful Happy sewing Enjoy your grandchildren
I only guessed the right garment because you gave us a hint with the pattern, otherwise I would have guessed the other one. What is it about stripes that makes everyone I see in them look amazing. I’m obsessed with stripes! (And Liberty Tana Lawn). You’ve been a busy seamstress. Hope at least one of your grandkids decides that they want to carry on the sewing tradition. 😊
It seems I was obsessed with stripes too judging by all the stripey fabric in my stash! 🫣 Currently enjoying a family holiday and thrilled to talk with my niece (14) who loves sewing. When she showed my granddaughters the bikini she had made I think it it triggered off an interest. 🤞😉😜
I enjoyed all the tops you made and the style you used too. I thought the dress you made was the green colour way. Looked lovely. I wondered if the sewing bee had got your juices all fired up 😂 x
Love them, so miss my sewing room. It's all packed ready to move to Amble and the person buying ours has a Land Reg problem. Longest house sale in history. So stressful
Hi Michou good to see you. I love all your blouses and yay!! I guessed right. I like the hand made one best. The big flowers on the bought one gave it away. See you soon. Stay warm.
I prefer the made one too. the neckline was lower which I thought was more flattering. plus I love the green fabric too. and re: weather - currently on holiday and sunshine is expected for the next 6 days. 👍😉
Sooooo good to see you again!!😍😍🥰🥰 Love your new tops with the pull-up side....looks like an easy make! Could not see the difference in the 2 dresses....you look lovely in both! Missed the "love you & leave you" at the end😁😁
I like the tops with the drawstrings. Have you thought about extending the length and making a dress? The part of Virginia I live in has been quite rainy this past month. We’ve had over 10 inches for the month of July. When it wasn’t raining it was quite hot & steamy. We are having a couple of nice days with no rain & low humidity levels. I know a lot of our places were named after places over in England and we are across a bridge from a place called Portsmouth Virginia. In fact that is where I was born and where my husband worked.
a longer version sounds interesting. And definitely a possibility with all the fabric that I've got so watch this space. where I come from, we have a lot of towns that I think are the origin of the towns and cities in USA and Canada. 20 miles north of us is Washington, nearby is a little place called New York. in the south of England there's a place called Boston and so it continues. I think that the people of those towns and places went to America and named those places after where they had originally come from. I live in an old RAF estate near to our airport and it was originally built for the Canadian air force so we have Canadian/Americam names like Virginia Estate , Fairfax road and Denver drive. it's amazing. just how similar place names are in the UK to those in your country. 😉👍😘
thanks Jean. I tried all types of stitches without any success. In all my years of sewing I've only had this happen to me 3 times. The other 2 times I simply binned the fabric. So at least this time I managed to keep the end result. 😉👍❤️
thanks. I'm enjoying making my own dresses using sewist. So cheap and since I ignore the instructions and go my own way it keeps my brain cells active. 😜😘
currently on our annual week's holiday in my childhood county by the seaside. A family reunion is again planned. Hopefully I'll get some vlogs up soon. 👍😉😘

The handmade one is more beautiful than the bought one! Good job'
That is a beautiful neckline on you!!! My favorite is the pink flowered top
I picked the right dress. Yours is LOVELY. I really like your tops, too. The side synching adds just the right detail.
Enjoy your precious grandchildren ❤
Thank you! Currently enjoying being with the grandkids on holiday. 👍😉😘
I guessed correctly, your me made version was much better made. The lowered neckline is more flattering and the buttons were beautiful.
I guessed right, the one you made as its got a lower neckline and i like it more than the bought one xx
Always good to see you. Your handmade dress is way better than the bought one. 😊 Gill
Love all the things you made.
The dress you made is beautiful, great job. I couldn't tell. Your such a inspiration for me. Thanks

Lots of tops there! I guessed the dresses the wrong way round, both lovely dresses.
I'm pleased you enjoyed watching. 👍😉😘
Good to see you love all your makes. I love your handmade dress much better than the bought one. ❤😊
Thanks Elaine. I think I have to agree with you too

Well done
You have made lovely replica of the store bought tops
I like the dress you made better
The fabric is beautiful
Happy sewing
Enjoy your grandchildren
Your creative juices were really flowing! Beautiful garments, Micheline, you inspire me!
Our weather has been weird, hot and cold both in July!
The climate has gone bonkers Janice. Looks like we better get used to it. 🫣
I love all the tops you made!
thanks Madeline. so many though that I'll need to make a real declutter clear out soon!🫣😉😘
Michaud, grateful idea with the drawstring! All of the tops are really cute and your haircut looks so cute on you 😋
Thanks Verna. I get fed up of my texts being changed for words I'd have never even considered! 🫣😉👍
Your tops are beautiful Michou and I prefer the dress that you have made.😍
thanks. I must say the bought one is nice but it's a touch too cottony crisp. I much prefer the looser viscose drape and swirl. 😉😘

I do hope it all happens soon for you Janice! 😘
The drawstring tops are very attractive on you Michou😊
Thanks Karen. 😘

You always make beautiful clothes.

@@michoumakes I enjoy making my own clothes too. I've been sewing all my life, but, my videos are about how to read and follow the instructions.
Nice to see you my love , I have missed you. Where is happy chappy . Hope to see you both again soon. Don't leave it too long next time xxxxxx
currently on our annual week's holiday in my childhood county by the seaside. A family reunion is again planned. Hopefully I'll get some vlogs up soon. 👍😉😘
I've been missing your posts, Micheline. I hope you are okay and will be making new vlogs sometime soon. I always look forward to them!
all fine Sue. just having too good a summer. 🫣
I've just posted a new vlog this evening. ❤️
I guessed correctly. Your made one fits better. Well done with all your sewing. I have fabric and time but rarely energy to sew. Frustrating
my sewing enthusiasm is starting to wake. not helped by 2 sewing machines crashing on me. I'm wondering if they're trying to tell me something! 🫣😂😉
Sorry, this thing changed the spelling of your name!😜
ha ha. not worries
