When you explained about being able to break it down for flat storage… 🤯 Mind blown! You provide solutions to problems we don’t even yet realize we have! You are not just a great maker, you are a great instructor. You include practical tips and considerations. You aren’t just showing us how *you* did the project. You really come from the perspective of teaching how to do it ourselves. 🧙🏻‍♂️

This video came up the very night i was thinking how i was gonna do it. I took your idea and ran with it. My trees look AWESOME! Thank you sir. Very soon i will throw some ideas your way that i have been thinking about and i am sure you can show the world an easy economical way to make and or construct with the supply shortage we are experiencing. • @ModelLights

Windy -- Long term I've found the best thing is the farm type green, flat stamped fence posts. Just hammer them into the ground to the flat blade in the strongest wind direction, and then put a pool noodle over them that way they're a little safer for you or any kid etc who runs into it. Then just put your stuff over or in front of it, and secure.
We get too much 45 mph wind here at the coast for anything else to work long term. This works great even for blow ups by having the foam pool noodle on the posts. Instead of guy wires running everywhere that still don't hold it down, I put a post or two behind it and use amsteel rope from the side ties back to the posts. Paint the foam for the posts a neutral background color and they're not that noticeable, and you can usually have them close enough to the body that they aren't that visible anyway.
I have to do all my deer, sleighs, blow ups, and other Christmas decorations this way. Just normal stakes won't cut it here things still blow over when the ground gets wet and softens.
Easy to remove too, just push against the flat way back and forth a few times. That spreads the ground a little and they'll pull up fairly easily in most cases. Use gloves, the posts have a lot of little ways to grab or cut your hands.

But a question or two. 1. It seems lock-tight is more “sculptable if you wet it over “great stuff” or am i wrong? 2. Do you still use great stuff for some things or switched over to lock tight exclusively. 3. Is great stuff sculptable? If so how? 4. The “foaming” glue confused me, what caused it to foam in the cup? Again learning so much! Thanks again.

A tip for cooling the foam after shaping it with the heat gun: get a can of air (from office supply stores for cleaning keyboards, electronics, etc) turn the can upside down and spray the foam. The propellant gets very cold and cools the foam instantly. Works great when working with hot glue too.

Your video was a LIFESAVER for this gurl! Stumbled onto this one when trying to figure out how to make realistic looking faux campfire logs to go with the tent & misc camping schwag I got for my grandson's 3rd birthday gifts. They live in the city & can't have a real campfire for their backyard campout so Grammi made him a fake one. These will cover the base of the fire prop nicely and turned out MUCH better then the ones I was looking at making at from another tutorial. I've watched your videos for quite some time now and just want to tell you what an incredibly imaginative creative force you are! All of your videos are easy to follow, filled with a great tips/tricks, well produced & entertaining. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and making it easier for folks who just love to create like me to create some quality pieces. #fanforlife

I love your advice on how you should think about how bad things occur like the sides peeling up. Think about how it happens and then add your cement to fix it. That's actually genius advice that is so simple to overlook.
I used to read books on how to make haunted houses when I was a kid lol. SFX and how to do illusions in haunted houses like making a rocking chair rock on it's on just by using an osilating fan that also blows the curtains around lol. I loved all of that stuff. Your channel reminds me of those books. Super cool ideas that just about anyone could recreate. I really love all that you do!!

I had a BLAST making this guy!! I added some "Rustic orange" which brought out some details of the Gorilla glue. That Gorilla glue texture is THE BEST THING EVER!!! It made all the difference. I added some real branches at the top too- just poked them inside the tree top..now I can hang bats. Not only are you cute and funny(This is a "YOU CUT"..hahahahahhaha!!) but you are a WONDERFUL TEACHER!!!! Thanks so so much!!!!

I wish I saw this video first !! I just made the trees out of thick cardboard cement tubes and I’m concerned they won’t hold up in the weather 😭 this seems like such a better alternative and is a lot more light weight and easier to work with .❤❤ I’m definitely gunna try this method next time I get the chance . Genius. 👏🏼👏🏼

I have 1948 brick 5 foot light post on either side of my drive way, I'm working on a way to wrap or cover them with these for all of October or to whenever i get letters from the neighbors. I need a little bit more diameter i think.
