Wow! Makes such a difference if troubleshooting the issue is done properly. I really hate when Dealership Service only comes with the extreme solutions for customers. Like, "you need a new turbo" or "your engine will need to be replaced and it will cost $46,000" (personal prior experience with Mercedes).
You are such a good teacher for this young man, You are a true Master Technician, taking time to teach a young Lad and giving comments on his work. It’s really nice to see someone teaching our young guys these days.
You are a great person and mechanic I have q5 2014 same engine 3.0 TDI also I have 2016 A6 same engine TDI 3.0 Just thinking if one of my cars has minor problems, and dealer will be telling me that I need the whole 9 yards to be replaced!!! Thanks 🙏 for your video, I finished watching all three of them, battery first, then limped mode and this one after insurance was applied on to be fixed
Watched your first video on this and now this one. You do an excellent job of explaining every little step. My Q7 has a problem which might be "limp home mode" - Sep 13, 2024 had it towed to dealership and have an diagnosis date for Sep 18, 2024. My son was using the car when this happened so I don't know that the glow plug light was flashing it did flash one time when I started it up. Engine sounds good. Did not attempt to drive it because we were on an on ramp to I95 at rush hour. With the knowledge from you video I feel that I will be able to double check the dealership. Thanks so much.. . .
there should be a quality control audit at the audi dealer. how many wrong diagnostics were processed under this dealer brand ? is the commercial model a simple swap out ? this is a bad customer experience overall and bad rep for Audi. Thankfully there some honest analytical and curious mechanics out there as both of you. The young apprentice right under the wing if he stays on this correct path can achieve immensely over the coming years with older cars in the parking lot market. Car manufacturing is sadly no longer DFSS, meaning they build it not flawless like before and specs and parts do not have a quality level as such. Nice work!
The Audi dealership in Frederick Maryland and surrounding areas (Gaithersburg, Rockville) are crazy. They'll lie right to your face with a smile on theirs.
Did you get any code for the limp mode? I have similar problem with my 2007 Q7 3.0 TDI but no error code what so ever. If it idled for 20 minutes and limp mode happened. Restart the engine the limp mode gone for only 5 minutes and happened again. After all this oddly strange experience and still check no error code from the auto repair shop.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair BTW, after limp mode kicks in and I go drive for a little bit and the turbo would restored. FYI I live in Taiwan, the temperature here right now is around 28-37C that’s 82/98F. My technician told me it could be the ECU/DME is malfunctioning. One thing I noticed, the fuel efficiency readout display is weird sometimes. As I drive on the road the readout would change depends on how much I press the acceleration paddle. When the car comes to complete stop the read out should be 0.0L/100km most times. However the readout sometimes show otherwise. 9.0L/100km or 46.0L/100km. When it is stop there shouldn’t be any fuel consumption. So, ECU/DME could be malfunction and the Fuel consumption abnormalities? Since the ECU controls fuel injection, a malfunction could cause the fuel mixture ratio to become imbalanced, potentially leading to either an abnormal increase or decrease in fuel consumption. Could this the cause the limp mode? Thanks!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair my technician told be the ECU/EDM could be the problem since it detects no faulty code where actually it does have faulty somewhere but it just shows nothing.
It was a due time for you to quit your job and come out to help people. Because dealerships sometimes can't fix instead they call people like you to do their job and charge the customer too much because they have to get a share as well. South Africa
Great content, no one explains the diagnostic procedures like u do 👌🏻
@BlackStigz Thank you!
It's important to understand the fundamentals of mechanics not just changing every part a scan tool says defective great job kits
@misheckakashambatwa2593 Thank you! I agree!

Nice work Deo!
@ladeishawilliams7735 Thank you!
Dealing with the basics is the solution to most problems but dealers and garages sometimes over complicate matters in order to earn extra money.
