Just wanna say. I did hear before the noise test that they were going to be run on max mode. For anyone getting upset here, jees, relax. Great video. I bought the v6 based on price and I did wonder what I missed out on. I only need a few minutes run time, so now I know the more expensive ones wouldn't be that much better for me. Glad I found this video.
I’ve had my Dyson V6 for about 2 years now and it’s still perfect for my little house, however I never knew how to empty the bin properly! I was jabbing a screw driver between the outer casing and filter to get the fluff and dust out, in fact I had to to and try it the proper way before the video ended 😂😂 very informative. Great presentation AL 👍👍
I'm thinking of buying a cordless vacuum for our Cabin, which is off grid. This is a very good video! It shows the power left in the battery (the V11) and the demonstrations were excellent and informative! I never wanted to buy a cordless, thinking the suction would be useless, and it would always need recharging...but I think I am sold on the larger Dyson V11!! Thanks!!
Thank you for a great comparison video! V8 has actually the longest charging time - 5 hours. It’s nice to see how V10 & V11 are big and heavy in comparison to older models which are significantly smaller and lighter. However, this can be a big advantage (for older models) for a car vacuuming. The minimum suction power on higher models (V10&V11) goes bellow older models and should be rather called “eco mode”. That’s why comparison with medium power level on V10&V11 would be more appropriate. It would be helpful (especially for allergic people) to mention that V8 and higher models have very good lifetime HEPA filters while V6 and V7 don’t have. I bought V8 absolute for car vacuuming and I am extremely happy for that. A small motorized head does a great job on car carpets. I was nicely pleased how different heads work well also on different kind of floors at home. I didn’t expect that but thanks to motorized heads V8 absolute overcomes my old Dyson DC19 in home vacuuming as well. Dyson = Ferrari among vacuum cleaners! :-) Unfortunately, also with their price tags. :-/
Hi there. Just so you know, your statement about the suction power of V10 and V11 vs earlier models on lowest power is inaccurate. The V11 on eco mode has 26AW of suction, whereas the V8 only had 22AW. Your point on the V10's low power mode is absolutely correct, hence why dyson increased the base suction power on the V11 and rebranded the low mode as eco mode. Cheers
Great video. I replaced my old heavy corded dyson and treated myself to a cordless I love it and find it great for quick cleaning and yes you have a lovely voice for this kind of job.

Very comprehensive and detailed video. Thank you. I put central vac in our new build townhouse near Vancouver In 2015 as it was already roughed in by the builder. We bought a much larger house and though central is again roughed in I thought I would take a look at the cordless dysons. I didn’t know a thing about them and the website could have been a little better. So thank you as i definitely know now which is best for me.
Given the pricing, we bought two refurb V6 to use in our small two storey house, a charging mount on each floor. Beats the heck out of the newer, bigger, heavier, more expensive models. As the V6 are hard to find now even a pair of new V7s is less than a V11.
besides from older to a newer model, the higher the model number, the bigger the battery and its run time. and of course its ascending PRICE! in simple word, BATTERY is life/money for Dyson cordless vacuums or even any other brand of cordless vacs.
I know the older dysons like the V6 & V7 etc are a lot better for car cleaning , as the design works better inside a small area like a car “not so long”
I just upgraded from the V6 to the V8 Animal. It has improved across the board and is only marginally heavier compared to the v10 and v11 I think its performance and drive point make it a winner. I didnt bother with the V7 as its not a huge upgrade from the v6
Great video! Very clear comparison and helpful statistics! I have a question! Can I use the same set of accessory heads across different versions? I got almost all shapes and models of heads when I bought v8 absolute but that one is dying. I'm considering getting a v11. I just wish I don't need to buy any more heads..
@@beccasmeltz3994 all non-motorised tools from V7-V11 are compatible. The soft roller and mini motorised tools are also compatible. Don't use the torque drive or high torque heads on vacuums they're not designed for however, as these have different motor wattages in the heads and can damage the battery if one is used that draws too much power from the battery
Christina A 1000sq feet apartment is small? So what is a big one? Just curious.. Here in Vancouver, Canada, an average good size 2 bedrooms 2 washroom apartment of 5 years old and newer is around 700sq ft
The V8 has an on/off button...or u have to press the button permanently while u r vacuuming? And haw can u charge it? Just like a phone or u have to use the wall station?
The V8 has a trigger so you have to keep your finger on the button all the time. You don't have to use the wall bracket, you can just plug it in with the charger if you want.
Great video, very informative. I have to be honest, I came here looking for differences between sub models like animal, animal pro, hepa, base model, etc.

You shouldn't need to buy a whole new vacuum, but if it will not operate and won't work after trying to put it back together then you may need to replace the head itself.

It really depends on the runtime you need and the budget you have. The models like the V10 and V11 will always outperform the more basic models, but if you only have a small area to vacuum and runtime is not that important, then perhaps the V7 is ok.
