We lived and worked in the Middle East for a few years, and this reminds me of the beautiful ankle jewelry that the belly dancers wore! There are so many possibilities with this design, and I love it. I am going to make a Christmas necklace and center some red, pearl and green Swarovskis on the dangles. Thank you so much, Gina!
Just so feminine. Loverly. Thank you. I have noticed the lack of your presents and fantabulousa designs here on RUclips. I hope everything is good with you! You’re a gem Gina, Thank you. May ur beads be many and ur line never tangle.
DaMon Turnbull LOL, may your beads be many too! I am okay, just have had a lot of distractions lately. Tying to get my bead on now...ha! Hopefully, I can get a few more videos made in the next few weeks 😁
DaMon Turnbull Yes, they have been good distractions, traveling around one weekend to my brothers home on the western slope, then to see my son in Arizona, now I am planning to go see my other son in Nebraska, the one that goes to the school the ruler is from😜
I like the way you show all the colors sizes that you use in your tutorials, I've been watching a few tutorials that are in Russians but not in English that makes it very difficult.
I truly enjoy your videos. Thank you so much. As with Lady Jane's you make your videos relateable, easy to follow and I enjoy your company. Thank you. I'm having a very hard time with crimping. For some reason I just can't get it right. I generally leave a bigger gap on each end than I want and it looks terrible so I'm trying everything without having to use crimp beads. If you have any suggestions I'd be grateful. Again, thank you for all of your time, efforts, and wonderful videos... :0)
Try pulling the tail side very tightly to the crimp. Put something inside the loop on the side with the clasp first, like a tooth pick, or something an appropriate size for the loop you need. Once the wire is tight, then crimp, it will move slightly as you crimp, that is all the slack you will need. As you get better with it you will not need to do this.
Hi Lovely Lady .... Waving.... seems ages since we spoke ... Hope you are well .... Love this little sparkler ... would look so fancy at the beach !!! This may be for beginners , but i love it !! Hi ya Jane! It has been a while. I am trying to get get back to beading, been doing everything but. I am glad you like this one, it’s the simple ones that are so elegant.
Sometimes , things get over complicated and there's no need is there , i totaly agree the simpler ones look so elegant .... im really into boho chic at the moment ... and loving ankle bracelets at the moment to with being in summer , this is on my list of makes just for me .... sometimes a break away from beading does you good as it can get alittle into overload and then not be enjoyable .... Great to see you back though 💕
Hello Gina. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with all of us. i love your beading ideas. I have a question. if i were to try and make a necklace, how many units should i make? my worry is i wont make the right about for the right about of draping. i hope you understand what I'm trying to explain. thank you in advance.
You can do both, my ankle is average size so 9 inches works well for me. But, I usually add an extender if I make one for someone else. You can of course try it around your ankle as you make it, or measure your ankle by putting a string around it then measuring that string on a ruler.
GGC's Beginning Beaders thank you very much, that is a beautiful anklet, I can imagine it in a variety of fun summer colors as well. Thanks for the tutorial.
Sorry, where do you find your closed jump rings? I have found them very hard to find, I did find some on line but they ended up being very very small! When I do find them in stores I tend to buy all I find, I also like making my anklets with the lobster clasp I feel it holds them well!
Hi Gina, quick question about nanofil: I've made many attempts at this anklet using the nanofil you recommend, however it just keeps snapping on me! I have problems with my hands, so it's not that I have the strength required to snap it easily. Have you ever had this issue? I wonder if there's a difference in what's being sold in the UK? But it says it is 5.73kg. I'm so frustrated!
No, I do not have issues with it, I use 8 or 10lb test weight. Use shorter lengths as not to weeken the thread by pulling long length through the beads. Be careful to pull it through the center of the bead without rubbing the thread of the side of the holes. Or try Fireline instead.
Nanofil and Fireline are both Berkeley products. Nanofil is much smaller in diameter but stronger, so the same test weight compared to Fireline will go through the beads more times. You can use Nanofil the same way you use Fireline, you can extend with a lighter and square knot the same way. It also tends to be smoother, it frays less too.

Sounds lovely, I can see how this design would remind you of jewelry in the Middle East, though I did not see it before you mentioned it. Have fun!
Thank You for this beautiful piece of Jewellery that will make any ankle look fabulous xo🌹❤️💐💞

So so gorgeous and pretty.. thanks 😘😘😘
Thank you!🌺
Very pretty, what do you gauge your anklet size by? Do you just use a standard size or by measurement?
You can do both, my ankle is average size so 9 inches works well for me. But, I usually add an extender if I make one for someone else. You can of course try it around your ankle as you make it, or measure your ankle by putting a string around it then measuring that string on a ruler.

You can find them on amazon, do a search for closed jump rings, closed textured jump rings or round connectors for jewelry making.
Get them 6mm in size
GGC's Beginning Beaders thank you, I tend to forget about amazon.
