How do you know what gems can withstand the heat? Is there a specific video or phrase to research when considering a stone for the piece?

My method is a bit old-school-I just bought a bunch and did a lot of testing! There are only a few types of gems that are heat-resistant. For instance, spinel can generally withstand high temperatures. For Cubic Zirconia (CZ) stones, only specific colors are heat-resistant.

Great video, you make it looks so easy! How do you know which stones are able to take the heat and which ones come in the kit?

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, figuring out which stones can handle the heat involved a lot of testing-and yes, a bit of trial and error (and money) along the way 😂. The stones included in the kit are all heat-resistant for sure.

Hi your video is great for me. ^^ I would like to ask is it ok if I do not put the ring in the oven nor use fire gun? Can I just dry it with hairdryer and put it on the gas stove for firing?

Yes, you can definitely use a hairdryer to dry the ring, and use a gas stove for firing. Just ensure the clay is thoroughly dried to prevent any cracking or damage during the firing process :)

1:06 in my (humble) experience- putting hand cream on, especially oil based, could potentially contaminate your silver and affect the final piece’s porosity. This is just my understanding and I could 100% be wrong… Love the video 😊❤️‍🔥

Thanks for sharing that tip! I haven’t run into any issues so far, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Really appreciate your input, and I'm glad you loved the video! 😊❤️‍🔥

Do you wear a mask when smoothing the ring down? I’ve seen some people say it’s unsafe to breathe in the particles

Absolutely, wearing a mask is crucial when sanding or smoothing down the ring due to the fine particles. Sometimes I get lazy, but it's definitely a safety step I shouldn't skip!!

Can I put a gemstone in it like labradorite ?

🤔 Labradorite might not withstand the high temperatures... but haven't tried yet

I just looked and your kits are under $100? So I could make one of these cute a** rings for under a hundred dollars???
