I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see a tutorial without an animated intro, EDM background music, memes and bad jokes. Just stripped down to great content throughout.
you can cut about five minutes of work from this by pressing shift+A, images as planes, find your fire video, tick "animate image sequences", and tick "emit". It will set it up at the right aspect ratio, the length of the clip and emitting light
Little trick btw! Instead of rendering them as Ico-spheres, you can cache out the sim as a alembic file (file-export, selected object). Then read it in and use geo-nodes on a plane, add the alembic cache object, -> set-position and mesh to points to get perfectly round sphere objects that you can apply a light material to. From what I understand, those perfectly round spheres you get with mesh to points will be more efficient than rendering ico-spheres. Allowing more particles for heavier stuff (maybe not for embers but something that is a little more intense). Bad Bormals has a great video covering this in greater depth
My morning with your video... ❤❤ Oh its a wonderful day now... Love your videos bro... The tricks you show are very useful... And the best part is the way you explains them is so intresting.... You always give useful information.... Without any useless talks.... Love your videos... Keep making them
Could you do a little video on render settings and denoising and stuff like that? I found it interesting that you don't have a noise threshold set and you do your denoising in the compositor, and at just 100 samples for such a low light scene you still get super clean results.
Once again great vid! For the particles u can render them as points with geometry nodes it only takes a small setup with 5 nodes and you'll have perfect spheres with no extra geometry cost :)
@@maxhayart Not really sure how to describe it in words (not native english) But Bad Normals shows it in his Tutorial " How to Simulate SAND in Blender 3.1? " at 17:55 He used it on a mantaflow sim but its the same on a particle simulation.

Hi Max - this is great... I love the content you're putting out, really improving the way I think about this stuff.... One question on this video: how to prevent the video from casting a shadow... I have a flickering black shadow on the floor from the point light. I've tried turning of Shadow off in the Object Properties for the video plane... but I still see a black shadow on the floor. And if prevent the point light from casting shadows then it looks a bit weird. It's probably something simple I just don't see it. Cheers... great content as usual.
Max where do you get the people models? Is there any site where I can buy them? Or maybe you can make a video of your assets or something? And tips for that?
Been playing..... I added a track to constraint to the plane so it tracks an empty. The I added a camera and added a track to constraint to it to track the plane. Then parented the camera to the empty. Now you just animate the empty and the plane will always face the camera. Again.....awesome tutorial!!!
This is not really what people mean... This is 2D fire, rather than 3D. That's why you could only do a slow zoom in on the fire rather than a full orbit, for example. May as well render your sequence without fire and just composit the fire on top.
Thanks for your sharing, but I encountered a problem here. After I connected the video to emission, there was no considerable light as in the video, instead, there was only a little weak light, even though I adjusted the intensity to 1000
hello brother I create 3d night fire in Blender after seeing this video and i export as .fbx to another blender project its not animate properly it show like (clay) not fire animation Can you please explain how to export to another blender project & Finally export to ICLONE 8 Please Explain be Brother it request
Hey bro in 4:41 when adjusting the plane color with the color ramp, you are seeing your changes in real time or are you rendering? I have to render and it seems that you're seeing it in real time.
Great and useful video as always! You mention in the video that you'll edit the png sequence in PS and then export it as a video. How do you edit all images at the same time?
I had the issue of not making scenes caus I thought I have to make the entire world around it lol But seems you can get away with just filling up the camera space like movie sets
When i create a new particle system, there are no circular orbs that appear, like they do at 12:30. When i choose 'hair', i see hair. When i choose 'emitter', i see nothing. What am i doing wrong? UPDATE: Under 'emission' the start and end frame numbers were too low. I was further along in my time line and had to increase the 'end' number, in order for the particles to appear.
The easiest way is just to do a quick fade back to the beginning of the video in post. But if you wanted it to be perfect you could keyframe the alpha of the fire in blender to overlap/fade back to the beginning maybe.
dragging and dropping the video isnt doing the same thing for me. the video shows up in the node editor, but nothing changes in the viewport or render. seems like a step is missing to make the black in the video transparent. plugging color to alpha not helping. edit: needed to be in cycles, not Eevee. as per usual.
This should work in eevee too. double check shadow settings for the object, enable screen space refraction, all the usual checks etc. when you drop it in the node editor don’t forget to plug the color into the emission color
Your videos have really changed the quality of my work
Glad to hear it :D

It's insane how I was just looking up Blender fire tutorials. I ask and you continue to deliver

Love this tutorial!!! Thanks for sharing this with us Max. Saving to my reference library.
Png sequence to Photoshop, post production and video export could be the next tutorial 😏 fire video man! 🥁
Loved it Max. Thanks for making all this amazing content. :)
I'd have to say this is one of my fav tutorials!
Little trick btw!

Do you know what the video is?
Thanks Scouty!
Max hay is an asset to all the blender people out there!! Treasure him 💛
Ian Hubert vibes!! Love it!! Great work legend

Hope to see you succeed even more, Sir.😌💜
My new favorite Channel! Amazing contents Man!!!
Love this tutorial, thank you so much for the effort!
love how you just appeared one day and started blowing up.
So we do follow exact same workflow. nice job Max 👌
INCREDIBLE! Clever af.
I hv loved this trick. So time saving and really cool 😍
Nice technique! Thank you for such cool, short and very understandable tutorial :)
Very cool. Thank you for this it’s really useful for my current project. 👍🏼
Add a low strength wind force with some noise to this and you can make the particles seem like they’re part of an outdoor environment :)

Fantastic result, thanks for sharing.
Excellent, to the point informative video
Please keep posting sir
Thanks A lot 🥰🥰🥰
This was super helpful. THANK YOU !!!
Max Rocking with Art of Thoughts
you mean FORWARD slash. It's the one on the ? key. The particles add a nice touch. thx for the tuts!
I had no idea Blender had a video node, this is much quicker and easier than fiddling with Blender's fire physics.
this is what im looking for!!! thank you
Once again great vid!
For the particles u can render them as points with geometry nodes it only takes a small setup with 5 nodes and you'll have perfect spheres with no extra geometry cost :)
Oh interesting, I haven't tried that. Do you mean set the render object inside the particle system to just be a geo node point?
@@maxhayart Not really sure how to describe it in words (not native english) But Bad Normals shows it in his Tutorial " How to Simulate SAND in Blender 3.1? " at 17:55
He used it on a mantaflow sim but its the same on a particle simulation.
Thank You so much. Great Video!
Very valuable vid i keep coming back to. liked commented and subbed
Thanks a lot Max!
Dude! This is so cool
ikr?!?!
really cool trick !

That's what I did for my clone video 😂it's a very good trick I discovered I'm surprise not many people would teach this technique
let's go!!
Could you do a tutorial on painting foliage on objects? Moss, ivy etc
Thanks for sharing! :)
thank you!
Thanks!
Have you tried occlusion culling for camera rotations instead of 3D fire or whatever else? Probably gonna try that when I get off work...
Cheaty just like in after effects, exactly how I like it :D
well done
coool!!!
YK its crazy cause i just modeled a torch and put a fire sim in it, then have a camera soin around the torch burning. an hour ago
Max where do you get the people models? Is there any site where I can buy them? Or maybe you can make a video of your assets or something? And tips for that?

This is a great tutorial! Although the word 'make' in the title made me expect us to make the flames from scratch
Thanks Sir please can you make a tutorial on a car splashing water on a road❤️❤️

Bro please make snow tutorial
Would this work in Eevee?
Please enlighten us with a tutorial for you nebula (loop) video. That’s the craziest shit I’ve seen in Blender ✨🙏🏻
Nice

I am a big fan of ian hubert too
if i use this in a game will it work on more angles? or is it just on one agnel?
How did you get the fire extracted from the black background of the original video?
hello brother

Nice work. How did you get the water look below the rocks?
Glossy shader
how do you do the photoscans?
HI MAX, how did you make it slow motion?
How to composite a fire asset in Blender. Hope it's not misleading for anyone who's actually looking for how to simulate a fire fx
Great and useful video as always! You mention in the video that you'll edit the png sequence in PS and then export it as a video. How do you edit all images at the same time?
After effects surely is a better method
Just import it as an image sequence, do any effects you want, export as mp4.
Where can I get those trees 3d scans?
how do u get through with only 100 samples?
does AI denoising take care of the volumes ?
20:38: Is EXR sequence not better than PNG sequence as it allows for more editing flexibility afterwards?
I guess EXR is better if that fits your workflow better. I just like PNGs so that's what I use
bro how you avoid denoise artifacts at such low sample count
I had the issue of not making scenes caus I thought I have to make the entire world around it lol
But seems you can get away with just filling up the camera space like movie sets
holy cow... is that real or what!?
Is it work with Evee?

I don’t understand how to get rid of the black plane …?
everything i try to download from pexels just says "video not found"
I'm gonna find that 1 guy which disliked that video.
trying to perfect fire and smoke sims
Can this be looped?
The easiest way is just to do a quick fade back to the beginning of the video in post. But if you wanted it to be perfect you could keyframe the alpha of the fire in blender to overlap/fade back to the beginning maybe.
holy 🐄 man I thought that was embergen
22:51 is it possible to edit video in Camera Raw Filter ? 🙄
Yes, just drag and drop a video into photoshop as you would with a photo
Как сделать огонь в блендере?
- надо взять огонь и добавить его в блендер! ...
