      Yep. I haven't touched blender since high school. I am now very tempted to reinstall it and see where we go from there. This guy's tutorials are both awesomely informative and wildly inspirational.

    Outstanding tutorial. I love how you constantly show problems then the magical setting that solves it.
    I tried making an explosion tutorial in 2020 and got 6 weeks deep before hitting two critical bugs that stopped me finishing it (and they're still not fixed!). Glad to see someone stepped up to deliver a thorough mantaflow tutorial to bring more people to the simulation side of Blender.

      Thank you kindly Andrew!! You’ve taught me so much! I remember following your large scale explosion progress in 2020, and I still have no idea how to do explosions in Blender. I’m just really happy we’re getting Cycles X, making at least rendering much more available!

      Matter of taste, if there is music, I don't even try. I will not be able to focus on the explanations. I really wanted to watch it but.... Too sensitive to music.

    I just need to stop for a second 5 minutes into the video to drop this comment.... this has been an incredibly well-explained tutorial on fire sims. If you haven't already I would love to see you chat about water sims. Keep up this masterful work.
    Update: I finished the tutorial, not do I understand fire sims, but the compositor . . . quality tutorial!

    During the “No smoke without fire” introduction, I could very quickly see this as being used to animate sea life, spirit orbs, fire - duh - and many other things for games or animations. Getting my first real good computer ever this coming week, so I will be saving this tutorial as I can now FINALLY truly utilize Unreal Engine 5, Blender and Cinema 4D to their fullest potential. So excited, thank you, Polyfjord!

    The only people that have disliked this video are the other blender tutorial gurus who can't get even 10% as good as this! This is gold! I appreciate not just the informative side of this tutorial but the way you keeping the viewer engaged with the b rolls, end parts, music, side notes, and cutting the fluff off... pure value!

    quick tip : Just set the resolution of the smoke to be more than 4096 or smth like that and you will get a real life smoke sim ,how cool is that ?

    Video is absolutely cool and useful, thanks alot. The "advanced part" though felt like a situation when you sitting in class, paying attention, teacher like "7+8=15, clear?". You like "ab-so-lutely". And then you blink and that triple differential equation appear. And please, make less references to seconds, I've got only laptop with 3050 and that sounds more promising that it should ;)

    Another idea for a tutorial... can you please show how you make HDR Renders? I have tried, but there is such a lack of information on it, let alone info for doing it in blender. Thanks!🙏

      Thanks!!! Hmmm... Right now working with HDR video seems too dependent on relatively expensive external hardware, so I still haven't figured out a good way to integrate that into a tutorial that has value for most people

      As you can see it requires both a separate 10-bit HDR display and an external capture and playback device like the UltraStudio 4K Mini

      ​ @Polyfjord AHHHH ok thanks! I thought that since it was generated footage, just exporting it as a HDR Compatible format (Like EXR) and telling adobe/davinici that it is HDR Content, it would let you export/upload it. or at least let you play it back on ur PC (if you have a 10 bit monitor that is)
      But thanks, i didn't realize how much went into it, i just wanted to make some sweet renders like you did for your HDR Montage ❤Thanks!

    I'm currently having a small issue where the fireball is large for the first couple of seconds and then goes to the scale I chose.
    I'm new to blender animation so I'm probably just doing something wrong but I am quite confused

      have you forgot to disable the autokeyframe button? If so there will be keyframes of scaling.

    Insufficient tutorial: I tried creating smoke and fire simulation in blender but instead my pc caught fire and started emitting smoke..

    Fantastic tutorial, thank you for sharing this gem!
    For those who couldn't make the fire appear in th viewport like I did, consider that this quick smoke action creates cube with liquid effector and applies same effector to the selected object. To achieve the fire emition you have to change fluid type to "Flow" on your active object, not on the cube.
