I used to drive a heavy duty tow truck. I loved scaring truckers at the truck stops before I parked to get my dinner. All I had to do was a slow roll through the lot and stop every so often and some moron would be hot footing it to their illegally parked rigs. The truck stop would make an annocement that a tow truck was on the grounds looking for something to tow *but I wasn't really, just there to eat).

Been fasting intermittently and puttin some miles on my feet since the end of last winter and it seems that I average 10 lbs lost per month. GITERDUN brother! When I was a driver I made it to 235lbs and i started simple by cutting out candy. I also cut out as much fast food as I could. Tried to eat a little better. I think i was down to 220 or so when I left the truck. Since this last Christmas I restarted, cut out all candy and soft drinks. Changed my diet completely. I went through physical therapy and learned an exercise routine that works for me. At Christmas I was 215 and I'm down to 178 and feeling great. Lookin forward to 160. I've never in my adult life exercised and ate right like I do now so I always find people like you to give kudos to and encouragement.

Wanna know how to lose a ton of weight real quick? Do some form of kickboxing. You don't have to do it to learn how to fight. Just do it for the fitness. I kind of let myself go a few years ago due to a mix of stress, depression, poor dietary habits, and some other things and decided remedy the situation. I went from almost 300lbs down to damn near 200 within 5 months by doing high intensity cardio sessions via Dutch and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Only 3 hours a week. A one hour session is a burn of 800 to 1,000 calories. Regulate your diet as well and get off the sody water.

If you get the chance to stop at the World's Largest Truck Stop in Walcott, Iowa, I-80, EXIT 284 and you got a few dollars, buy yourself a squeegee. Or cleaning truck products. I use old t-shirts. Truck Stops provide the buckets of water or a water spicket. And please find a parking spot while cleaning your truck. And make your time spent in the building short, if parked in front of the fuel lanes/ pumps. I take 6 to 7 minutes, because if those 18 wheels are not rolling, I'm NOT making a dime. Every trucker is on a different schedule. Or you can be world famous on Bonehead Truckers.

    • @Ironiclobster69

Reserved spots should definitely be a thing but I think truck stops need to be limited to like 25% spots paid. These places with 50-75% paid spots is crazy especially since local guys and dropped trailers take up 99% of free spots.

    • @BlueOvals24
      @BlueOvals24 10 месяцев назад +3

@@Ironiclobster69 That I can agree with. I also think there should be some rules implemented that allow them to be free to anybody during a certain time. Like maybe have mid night or 1am be a cut off time. If nobody's reserved it by then, let anybody take it. And as OP said, have them open to anybody during slower hours so people can use them for a shower, or food, or taking their 30.

Never drop a trailer on asphalt (bad things happen). Thanks fellow drivers for sending in your videos to Ike.
I'm not the perfect old school trucker. But in my 33+ years. I had 13 minor accidents. 7 out of 13, I was the 2nd or 3rd party involved (4 wheelers cause the accident). 4 out of 13 was those crazy yellow and red concrete poles, high curbs, tight backing into dock doors. 2 out of 13 were lite minor bonehead accidents in my 1990 rookie year (Less than $500 in damages).
I worked for 6 different trucking companies (3 of them are out of business) and 2 local businesses with daycabs & pup trailers and got 14 safe yearly driving awards.
3 Driver Of The Month awards, a 5 and 10 years service awards with the current trucking company (Soon to be 15 year service award).
19 awards out of 33+ years.
I did local & short regional trucking too
    (No Awards).
    But, I'm not perfect.
May of 2026 is retirement for me (36+ years).
God Bless and Good luck to my fellow truckers out there.
I don't criticize my fellow truckers, except for those who don't have the will to learn the trucking industry. But in today's industry, you fu*k up big time, say goodbye to that CDL. That's why I hate the FMCSA for changing the industry. Government controlled.

There's plenty of sleazy doctors out here looking to make a quick buck; what better way than doing D.O.T. physicals for $100 a shot. I know of a driver who had a heart attack and had a double bypass, he was off work for a year. He couldn't pass a D.O.T. physical, then he was told about a doctor who had a small clinic and did physicals on the side. He did the eye chart, hearing check (doc whispered and he had to repeat what was said), tapped his knees, checked b.p., and asked him some health questions. In and out in 30 minutes.

Had me rolling on fat shaming. And what an operation. Well you invite him to your cruise. Just advise him they are charging extra for seating. And on dot must have used trumps doctor. On the talented pisser. Man hold that product up. I have been in the truck stop and forget to use the restroom. But he can't put down his stuff. On the banging door doing his hustle. Didn't understand it till a comment said it was about paid parking. Unless it is over flowing why do these guys mess with them. And was going to follow him to the shower. Such service. And hopefully the driver removes that windshield sticker.

Yep! Dedicated route with stops in Virginia and NC all at night. Drop at closed stores in empty parking lots.
I only take a 10 in a truck stop one day a week.

Brother here’s how I feel about confronting other drivers. Sometimes we have to pick our battles out there. Especially if a fight or confrontation could potentially put our jobs or freedom in jeopardy “all because of some idiot” Sometimes it may be unavoidable but we shouldn’t be encouraging drivers out there to do things that in the end will not be worth it for them. Now I won’t hesitate in reporting a driver to his or her employer or even the police if it’s serious enough. But won’t be approaching them with my phone out and getting into an unnecessary argument just for the sake of a RUclips video. That’s reckless and I got better things to do. And if you are out there working as hard as I do; I would like to believe you got better things to do also and don’t have time for all this crap. No one is going to come to the aid of these drivers should they lose their job or wind up in the slammer. -Respectfully

If thousands of truckers weren't such incompetent, selfish, inconsiderate, lazy, and disgusting pigs, then your opinion would be totally valid.. .particularly if you were never any of the typical offenders on the show. I'm personally glad that at least the backstabbing truckers like the fools that pee where we walk and the fuel island blockers and the trash dumpers who get us banned are getting exposed.

It’s not like you have to take a PT test to pass a physical. As long as your vitals are ok THAT DAY you pass.

Yeah, I watched a driver come out of the truckstop in Kentucky with food in his hand, puts it in his truck and then goes behind his cab to use the restroom. I already know the guy never washed his hands. It made no sense, but I guess some are afraid of water and soap.

Just one of many reasons why I absolutely will not ever never ever do business with a TA ever again not even if they were the last truck stop left in the country
