Don't think there are many (any?) singers that would attempt that big note towards the end today without the assistance of auto-tune. Just pure talent.
He was so sick & in pain. He passed 6 - 8 wks after this. However, he didn't stop, he never lost his sense of humor and his voice was even more powerful! He loved his fans & we love him & miss him. Loyal til death! God bless this beautiful soul! TCB ⚡❤😇
@@bertsplci "Filmed" is the key word here thank you as most people believe it was his last concert but he went on 5 days later to do another concert on the 26th of June.
No one has ever had a voice look his. From the lowest notes to the highest he never hit a bad note. No auto tune in his day. I saw him live in Lake Tahoe in 1976 and he sounded just like his record. I remember thinking wow what a voice even though I was only 16 years old. He was not only a fantastic singer but the greatest entertainer ever. He played piano and guitar with the best of them. He never had a voice or musical instrument lesson in his life.
One person who can never be replaced or copied, the best ever nobody else is even close. Plus he did the most for humanity. Have the most back to the needy
He was not in his best shape, physically but his voice was richer, had more dept and soul then ever! Weird thing is that his voice began to change since 67, 68, 70 more raw and soulful. From ´72> it became more and more rich and full less raw. If you hear the studio albums from the seventies, more dramatic and the depth and emotion he put in it. I just love this guy! Greatest singer ever!
I was Blessed to get to see him December of 76 Dallas TX an he was amazing!! you would never have known he was sick so so sad he left us 8 months later😓 Ive loved him ever since im definitely an Elvis fanatic fan love him he was an will always be the G.O.A.T😘💙💜💙💜 thank you for another great reaction🤗🙏💖
His voice, a total miracle. Elvis raising the roof, the greatest communicator of emotion that ever graced a stage. He could have sung opera if he wanted to. This kind of singing can not be learned, this is something that comes from deep within. We really could need an Elvis these days. He gave, and still do,give so much joy and comfort to people. Elvis should have lived 1000 years, in my heart till I draw my last breath.
I saw this performance live!! He didn't look his best, however he was not struggling - just listen to the power in that voice!! He was, as always, amazing!
Simply amazing! How Elvis did that given his health is so extraordinary! His voice never failed him and he gave 110% in his performances, even when ill! His fans meant the world to him and he meant the world to us even until today! TY
I had the privilege of seeing him perform this live in Atlanta Dec 30th 1976 and he blew the roof off the Omni. He looked great and had a great show.. Love your review and have subscribed. Thanks
Wow, Wow, Wow, and a quadruple Wow for good measure!!!! What an absolutely downright stunning performance in every sense of the word, from a bona-fide master showman. Undoubtedly one of the most brilliantly, remarkably talented, gifted, mesmerizing, captivating, spellbindingly magical entertainment personalities to have ever graced the world stage. Elvis Aron Presley, the echoes of the incredibly rich legacy and immeasurable impact he left behind on the musical landscape, will never, ever, cease reverberating throughout the pages of time because the sun never sets upon a legend. May you rest easy and peacefully eternally Hillbilly Cat until we meet once again. You are immeasurably loved and truly, deeply, sincerely missed great one❤🎉❤
@Carly- Elvis even at not being his best heath wise here still could sing and hit the high notes when they called for it. Hurt is a another great cover song done by him. Thanks for this great reaction. The anniversary of Elvis death is August 16th.
It's so hard to believe that he'd pass away in only several weeks from that concert, many people didn't know that Elvis had been experiencing a lot of pain and also that he had serious vision issues too along with other health issues as well
In 2023 bands canx shows because their tape playback machines are missing or broke or lipsync vocals (Vince Neil and Paul Stanley) and even "playsync" their instruments (Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx). It is well-documented by several Elvis insiders how sick Elvis was during the June tours, yet he gave 1000%. This is why he is the undisputable GOAT
That high note at the end of the song is Amazing on Hurt. There is a song that I wish you would react to by Elvis. It’s called You’ll Think Of Me. Hardly nobody reacts to it and it’s a great song. Please check it out. It’s a studio version with pictures.
Great reaction as per usual. One helluva battle but he won through magnificently. Can't find that you have reacted to What Now My Love from Aloha From Hawaii 1973 REHEARSAL version, you will love it Carly .....I kid you not.
Your reactions to Elvis moves me. And the way you found a place there in your heart. From my point of wiev it is not possible to hear Elvis sing an nott get attached. Thank you for bringing all this songs to us. If I could suggest a song; Something from the Aloha from Hawaii consert.
Even though he is not looking his best, he sounds as good as ever.. It comes from the purity of his Soul.. I love Elvis.. He is Love.. He just is love, Unconditional Love from the very core of his Soul...
Despite his poor health, Elvis was in the middle of renewed chart success at the time of his death. While his R&R days were behind him, he was having success on the AC (Adult Contemporary) and Country charts. Hurt was #7 AC and #6 Country followed by Moody Blue, the title track of his last album, went all the way to #2 AC and #1 Country. I was was given a blue vinyl edition of the Moody Blue album around noon on my 16th birthday which was August 16, 1977. Just a little while after, I had the album playing when my Grandfather called to tell me that Elvis had died.
Firstly the obvious, Elvis was incredible in so many ways. Baz Luhrmann missed the chance to show Elvis' inner person, the kind, incredibly generous, self deprecating human being who gave everything both professionally and personally right up until his last breath. TCB as ever.
YEH right on i agree, I mean why didn't they use Bill cherry who is a split of Elvis OMG you can't tell Him apart from the real one. He has all the moves and has his Mannerism to a t. Baz Luhrmann was ok, he had a go bless him, But NAA not for me. I loved this is Elvis Johnny Harra 1981 film that is amazing. As for today, Pete storm was very good a resembles very close to the king of rock and roll. so why Baz, No disrespect, But It wasn't bad bad, But It didn't blow my socks off. It was a very weird film that one. Although i enjoyed it for what it was, Still could have been more couldn't it mate.
Hi Carlie, i watch a lot of the reaction channels but I think this is the first time I have seen yours. I just love your reaction to Elvis. All the other comments say what I was going to say, that Elvis was a oneoff superstar, a supernova blazing across the universe. I flew from Melbourne Australia to San Francisco in 1976 to see him on stage and I was blown away, his voice and incredible good looks..❤❤❤❤❤. He sang Hurt at this concert too, and his voice went through the roof. I have made a video for my channel, of myself talking about the concert, and I got quite emotional just remembering the experience. Thank you for such a heartfelt reaction to this immortal song and the Man who sang it😊😊😢😢😮

Came across your video looking for this song, what an amazing video, and info you gave to this song, and to Elvis. I wasn’t around for the Elvis era either, was only 4 when he died, but as you said we have these amazing videos, and no matter how sick he was at this show, you would never know with his voice, it never left him. He was so sick an yet so amazing was that power in his voice , no one before or after have come close ,an that's why we still watch him , we still listen and we will always remember.
Imagine that, and he had a disease that affected his lungs. Sometimes you can hear that he can't catch his breath in certain songs. I saw him in 2 concerts in 1976 and early 1977.
❤ another tear jerker... it broke my heart to see him sick.... but he loved his fans... and Lord knows we loved him... still do... ❤ thank you for your reviews....
Elvis passed mere weeks after this performance...He never lost his beautiful voice, we lost a true legend way too soon.. I love though that the generations to this day are keeping his music and his memory alive.. a true KING
Yes I remember back in 1977 when i was 19 years old , i remember watching the CBS TV that this Concert was presented on before his death , and my mother talking about how heavy he had become , because 4 short years before that Final concert we saw in his Hawaii Concert in1973 on NBC , and he was very slim and at least on the Surface at top of his game , now here me watching your video Jan. 24 2024 , at age 66 i now can feel when it seems like things become more and more out of your control , I have a weight problem , my energy is much less , Elvis look so much like a person in their 60s then their early 40s , but one thing Elvis gave it all he had when he sang his songs , one of the saddest things Elvis looked so broken hearted , the last few Albums that Elvis had recorded , were some of the saddest song that i think he ever recorded and you feel the sadness in those songs , like it's midnight , never again and Hurt this song here , but still there were some that had some warmth like And I Love So and Unchained Melody among some others .
Good Song ! I have a favorite Elvis song ! I truly believed that he sang this song I'LL BE THERE to a beautiful woman like you. It might just end up as one of your favorite songs by The King .😉
