Elvis is different for me because he is ALWAYS the best! He makes every song his own. No comparison to anyone else! Always loved him, always will! I am almost 74 and loved him since I
A huge hit in 1970 for Elvis, topping the UK charts for five weeks, and reaching US Top 10. Ray Peterson, who had a hit with this song many years earlier, tells a story which shows what kind of person Elvis was. Elvis called a stunned Peterson, and asked if it was OK if he (Elvis) recorded «The wonder of you». Peterson replied; «you don’t have to ask my permission, you are Elvis Presley!». Elvis replied; «I had to, because you’re Ray Peterson». Humble to the core, talented beyond belief, a charisma that decades later shines like a beacon. Elvis, to this day, loved from Timbuktu to Iceland, the greatest performer we will ever see gracing a stage.
I love it when you do the Elvis videos your comments and your knowledge of Music is greatly appreciated please continue doing what you do so well recognizing Elvis true genius
I think it always comes back to emotionality with Elvis' vocal performance. There is a sincerity and depth to his music that transports you emotionally and there is an Elvis song for pretty much every emotion!
I love Elvis' voice. It is so deep and rich and it always sounds like whatever he's singing is true. I like the fact that Elvis sang several different genres (besides basically inventing one!). There are SO many great Elvis songs that you NEVER hear on the radio. (Even on his channel from Graceland.) Most of his songs have beautiful melodies. I like the rhythms from the 50's and 60's also. Although I wasn't born until the very end of the 1960's, I spent my teenage years listening to all the Elvis I could find! I always wish his brother could have lived and that they'd both lived long, healthy lives.
Love everything about the man. Own this and all his recordings you might say fan doesn't quite explain may obsession. Thanks for the breakdown of his vocals and his backup group who were one big family and loved each other right up till he was gone. thanks for making an 80 year old fan have a great day. Be Blessed.
Hello everyone. You are like a goddess on Earth. Thank you bringing Elvis back with us through is music. He was definitely ahead of his time. Is voice got better and better with time. On his performance at the Madison Square in New York in 1973, his voice got warmer and better. He was a prince from another planet, and he left us a legacy that will not ever be forgotten.
What makes Elvis my favorite is the beautiful tone of his voice - and the versatility of what he does with it. He excelled at working with other musicians and having them create their best as well imho.
Hi! I appreciate your reactions as you explain so well why we love Elvis. First, the voice-there is just something about his tone (even when talking)-it is so smooth and rich. Second, the things he can do with his vocal instrument-the cry, vibrato, yodel, scat, you name it Elvis could do ALL the vocal dynamics! Third, the sincerity and emotion-he sang every song like he meant it. Fourth, the intimacy-he sang songs like he was singing directly to you. Fifth, his physical investment in each song….etc, etc, etc I could go on and on. Also, Elvis was the first solo artist who required and desired back up singers for all of his songs-he loved harmony-he is the one who made it possible for people to make a living singing ooo’s and ahhh’s. It wasn’t a thing before Elvis.
Wonderful performance by Elvis. Phenomenal voice and range! That top female sound is from Kathy Westmoreland, the suprano. Amazing! Cissy Houston only sang with Elvis the 1st six weeks of his opening concerts in Las Vegas 1969. Thereafter she left the Sweet Inspirations. Very nice reaction. More Elvis please. ❤🤗🎧🎵🎙🎼
@@russjohnson2478 Yes, Millie sang the soprano backgrounds to " Blue Christmas " amongst others, going back to 1957 ! I think Elvis's 1970 Summer Season in Vegas, might have been her last with Elvis, as, like Cissy Houston, she wanted to stay home with her children. Both of them could still make good money as " Session " singers, Millie in Nashville, and Cissy on the East Coast ...
@@rawschri and I think Kathy Westmoreland was from the west Coast. lol. He had all time zones covered. Yes. TTWII session was her last. He really loved having her back him up, but he also loved Kathy, Sissy and the rest of his backing band and singers.
Very nice critique of the arrangement and individual musicians. I believe Elvis is so great because everything he sang came from his heart and soul. He had an incredible ear for what a song should sound like. He is so good that he has spoiled me so much, I have a hard time listening to or watching other performers. ❤
Every bit of that song (and every Elvis song - other than the movie stuff) is his doing. The band instruments, the singers, he arranged all of it. He could not read music, but he certainly could hear it and decide how he wanted it to be heard by others. That is one of his talents that many are not aware of. Elvis was the whole package wrapped up in one of the most handsome and sexiest humans ever.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS❤️ Elvis inspires you to be a better human being❤️ You bring me and other Elvisfans a lot of Joy and Love❤️ Welcome to the Elvisfamily..It is filled with LOVE and FUN❤️😉
I'm an old guy now, but one advantage to my age is seeing Elvis in concert. It was April, 1972 in Charlotte, NC. I remember the emotional static around us - It was intense. When zarathustra started, I felt goosebumps. Women were going crazy. A blue eyed blonde behind me was so pretty, but she had a piercing scream! I guess part of it was me being young as I had only been to a few live concerts, but the feeling from that day is still with me today. When Elvis died, we made the trip from Charlotte to Memphis for his wake. We stood in a line for 3+ hours to view his body, It was so surreal and sad. Some people were crying as if Elvis was a family member. A few years later I traveled back to Memphis to tour Graceland. While in Memphis, I met Elvis' friend and confident, Jerry Schilling. He was a super nice guy. We talked for probably 20 minutes. He told me several stories, the funniest being about some girls who came for a tour and jumped in the swimming pool - just because - clothes and all!
I absolutely love your Elvis reactions. Please do more! ❤❤❤ You could even react to some of the number one studio hits, like It's Now Or Never for example, with some absolutely tremendous singing on it earlier on in his career.
The beautiful high voice during this 1970 Vegas session was Miss Millie Kirkham. She sang with Elvis for years on his recordings. She was the high voice on Elvis’ 1957 recording of “Blue Christmas”. That’s what catapulted her to stardom with that voice.
Yes Elvis was for sure in is natural environment on stage, the single release for this song was a live recording from the Jan/Feb 70 engagement a UK number 1 in Aug for 6 weeks.
Thanks for this video Nina. It's always nice to see vocal coaches 'dissecting' and appreciating his amazing voice. Elvis had a grueling schedule when it comes to giving concerts, and was wearing very warm jump suits which were not made of breathable fabric. Despite all of that he was still able to give memorable performances. I look forward to your reaction of the following Elvis videos: 'If I can dream' and 'Trying to get to you', both from his 68 Comeback show.
Before anyone did anything, Elvis Presley did everything. Without question, the most brilliantly, remarkably talented, gifted, captivating, mesmerizing, spellbindingly magical entertainer to have ever graced the world stage. The immeasurable impact he made upon the musical landscape and the incredibly rich legacy he left behind will never cease reverberating across the pages of time because the sun never sets upon a legend.
@SultanofTwang1956 This comment sums up Elvis so perfectly nothing else to add everything is right there in that one paragraph. He's too good and important to ever forget, I hope and pray that this and future generations will ensure his memory and music will continue to be recognised and celebrated. May you continue to rest in peace and thank you Elvis I speak on behalf of all humankind who love you and respect you for everything you did and continue to do, you make our world a little more bearable in these current difficult times. Signing off and TCB/ Love from everyone. Xx
@PuzzlePicPlayhouse Hello there 😀 Just wanted to reach out and say how truly, deeply, sincerely much I love your comment, wonderfully spoken indeed. Much love and prayers that you'll be abundantly blessed throughout this year and far beyond. Take care and have yourself a good one 👍
@PuzzlePicPlayhouse Hey there once again 😀 Just wanted to reach out and say thanks a million for your fantastic response. The kind and thoughtful words you sent my way are very meaningful as well. All my best to you and yours, and TCB FOREVER 😉
I believe that high voice was Kathy Westmoreland (Minnie Mouse as Elvis called her), who was a long time vocalist and friend. She also has an amazing range and it really comes out in "Why Me Lord".
Elvia voice is one of the greatest. He can hit all the notes. He also had a great ear that is why he is able to keep turning songs into hits. He is among the greatest like Pavarotti with vocals of Angels.
Elvis built this incredible group by himself. The total number, with the orchestra was somewhere around 40 people total. Johnny Cash, who was friends with Elvis, said once that Elvis' music became overproduced as time went on. Elvis said himself he loved a big sound and he had the vocals to match. When it came to that, Elvis was in full control.
Nina because you love the backing singers I suggest you check out "Are you lonesome tonight" (laughing version live in Vegas 1969) it's Cissi Houston, Witneys Mum.
What a performance again i was young when i started this Elvis tour best ever the king hes voice hes looks wow ...can be only one and thats Mr Presley wow thanks fr the reaction love it
I am enjoying your In Depth Analysis of Elvis’ singing so much. You are just confirming what all of his fans have known, sometimes, like me, for sixty plus years. A wonderful, kind & generous human being …. Humble too. A great entertainer, with an Amazing voice. An American Triology would be another great song for you to do an In Depth Analysis on, & is a favourite of most of his fans, & even many who just love him singing that particular song. I love him singing it at the Aloha concert in 1973, with 1.5 billion people worldwide watching it via the first ever Satellite concert performance. My other favourite song by Elvis, is Don’t, which in 1958, was his eleventh Number One hit. ‘Don’t’ was written expressly for Elvis, but sadly there do not appear to be any videos of Elvis performing it in concert, that I have come across yet, but there is a great video showing Elvis rehearsing it in 1970, followed by him singing it with the Philharmonic Orchestra (Re Sync), on the same video. This song beautifully shows his lower range vocals, & I would love to see you do an In Depth Analysis of what seems to be a less-known Elvis song.
Suspicious Minds was his signature song. He had fun with it. He would do like he's firing a machine gun, playing guitar fast, and a bunch of other movements. At those points the band was playing to what ever Elvis was doing. That's according to his band members in an interview.
Hi. Just come across your channel by pure chance - Elvis you certainly can't go wrong l gladly watch any vocal expert reactions to his performances as they are the like of which we will never see again! Even if he didn't actually like being called it, there is a reason why he is the king. Also though, a reaction suggestion...have you heard of Lucy and Martha Thomas ? They are 2 sisters who have recorded music together, Lucy also having done solo recordings but they both are hugely gifted singers with the most pure angelic voices you can imagine and both still only young Lucy won the the UK Voice Kids think roughly about 5 years ago. But yeah would love to see you do vocal reaction to them cause individually and together, they are precious and just off the scale amazing!
Terrific review Nina. I'd love to see you review Elvis' amazing cover of You've Lost That Lovin Feeling from 1970, or his Never Been To Spain from 1972.
Elvis Was and is the greatest performer and singer in the entire history of music. I don't think that anyone has been born yet. Who's going to take that mantra.
If you watch him in Elvis: That’s the Way It Is” he rehearses with the background singers and develops the arrangement by singing to them what he wants to background tagging vocals to sound like after the lines.
Absolutely beyond awesome; he became the master of his craft and is the King ❤️🔥 just as Angelina Jordan is becoming so she will be and is the master of her craft and will be King 🌟
The official live recording released was actually a different version. They are very similar ( possibly recorded on the same day) but i believe the audio only version is even better than this wonderful video. You can tell they are different as the applause in the video begins before Elvis starts to sing, in the audio version the applause occurs after he starts to sing. There are other subtle differences as well. Here is a link to the audio if anyone is interested. ruclips.net/video/njoBMZD_jP0/видео.html I know, Elvis nerd, LOL.
Hi Nina, I love your reaction to "The Wonder Of You", Please can you react to the following Elvis Song, "An American Trilogy" (Aloha Version 14th January, 1973), "Never Been To Spain" (From Elvis On Tour - 1972), "Let It Be Me" (1970 - las vegas), I think that you will like reacting to these Elvis songs, As i am keen to see your reaction to all of them, Please keep up the good work, as you are doing a fantastic job.
Nobody can match him.....after so many years Elvis is stiil the King....some of my favorite songs include I'm left, You're right, She's Gone....Anyway You Want Me.....I Forgot To Remember To Forget...Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water and Let It Be Me.
Whitney Houston’s mom was one of his back up singers. He was told his back up singers weren’t welcome in St. Louis, so he said he wouldn’t come. They changed their mind and he sang. He sang with all his heart and soul.

If you watch him in Elvis: That’s the Way It Is” he rehearses with the background singers and develops the arrangement by singing to them what he wants to background tagging vocals to sound like after the lines.
He is singing and directing at the same time. He was unique
Lots of lots in the song! And on top is Elvis
The song was arranged by Elvis piano player Glen D Hardin.
You do a great job Millie Kirkham the female wonderful
Kathy Westmorland sang soprano. When Elvis introduced the members of his backing he would call her “the little girl that does the high voice singing”.
Tooru did great with this
Check out Let It Be Me. I think you will enjoy it. Great reaction video.
Absolutely beyond awesome; he became the master of his craft and is the King ❤️🔥 just as Angelina Jordan is becoming so she will be and is the master of her craft and will be King 🌟
The high note you hear at the end was Kathy Westmoreland.
Here is a link to the audio if anyone is interested. ruclips.net/video/njoBMZD_jP0/видео.html
I know, Elvis nerd, LOL.
What captured me in this video is you. You are so beautiful.
there is a video with a compilation of images taken from the 70's wonder woman series with this song in the background which is perfect.
The best ever and the rest is 3😂😂❤
Hi Nina, I love your reaction to "The Wonder Of You", Please can you react to the following Elvis Song, "An American Trilogy" (Aloha Version 14th January, 1973), "Never Been To Spain" (From Elvis On Tour - 1972), "Let It Be Me" (1970 - las vegas), I think that you will like reacting to these Elvis songs, As i am keen to see your reaction to all of them, Please keep up the good work, as you are doing a fantastic job.
