That IS where Adam is from. He grew up in the hood in Chicago. He was a battle rapper and gained so much respect.
The point of this song is both races are stereotyped.
The first part of the song talks about “White Trash” in the trailer park, wife getting beat and smoking around the kids and such. Most people would consider that white trash. Then there are Hillbillies….. those are the country folk that work hard and hunt their own food and make a good life for themselves in the country. Then he goes on to talk about the stereotype of a “N###@“ having saggy pants, selling crack and not taking care of their kids, that’s the stereotype, right? Then in the second half of that verse he talks about “black folks” that work hard and want the violence to stop in their neighborhood and just raise their kids and live life.
So to put the song into perspective, white trash and N are judged the same and the government did it. They penned us against each other and they sit back and watch the hate and feed off of it. You can’t let that happen.

We have to come together with love and respect for each other before it's too late. 💗🙏🙏🙏💗

Perfect example of this music explained.
The elite was us at each other neck
      They promote division and disrespect.
We need to speak our peace and be at peace with each other. We are sisters and brothers.
Before america. Division was thru religion. The slave owners saw the peasants and the slaves speaking. So they created the N word to create division. There vision was to segregate each of us. Every where in life including the bus.
They wanted us to hate each other. Not to relate to each other.
We all have the same problems in the hood. The government throws us some cash and that's what supposed to make it good. Putting us in projects as a cage. Living on top of each other enraged.
      Nah fu@k that.
The rich and elite think shits sweet.
We need to sit and speak.
Create a army against the elite.
Before it goes to another level and we are all enslaved to the digital currency. With no privacy. This is the time to be alive. This is the time to survive. This is the time to pull our neighbors up when the fall. Or our progression will forever fall

I get along with everybody here. Alot of shit goes down but i mind my own business and never have problems. We all here struggling. And as a white dude i can see how it is to get stuck in the projects. For one these projects are set up to try keep u in them. The more money money u make working the harder it is. The less I work and do side jobs the more I save. It's all backwards. It's designed to keep certain folks in one area for others political gain. It took me living in it to realize it. It's called economic privilege. Same as living in trailer parks or any housing project. They want u to live in these areas so they can get your vote. They want people to depend on the government and control u and for u not to succeed

I agree with most of what you said, and don't really disagree with anything. You're on point about the haves and have nots.
The one thing that gets overlooked too often, is that black people are disproportionately in the have nots. Same goes for the incarcerated, with wealth distribution etc. This is a systemic dysfunction, or rather a function by design.
It's really hard for a white man like myself to even imagine, I mean less than 60 years ago racial segregation was still the norm and the law. And while those Jim Crow laws were ruled unconstitutional in 1965, the majority (of white people) who were pro-segregation didn't just flip a switch and change their perception and beliefs although the laws changed.
The whole nation suffers from kind of a PTSD because of the racial injustices and issues have never been resolved. Laws don't change these centuries old beliefs and values in people.
Modern Germany would never be what it is today, a wealthy and trusted Western ally, had they not faced their ugly Nazi past head on and take accountability. They teach that shit in history classes, nothing cencored or tip-toed around, straight facts about the genocides and concentration camps and all. They really don't want to repeat history.
The same approach is badly needed in the US, there must be accountability and there must be enough courage to admit the crimes against humanity. The path your country is on is doomed, and I think everyone knows it deep inside, but can't admit it. It's too scary, uncomfortable and awkward, but the on-going approach is far more all of the above.

Adam Calhoun and Tom Macdonald both are artists who create lyrics to make people think. That's why I listen to them so often. This one really brings up how we let others divide us. The reality is that despite what has been shoved down our throats, we aren't that different. Our experiences and skin tones may be dissimilar, but we are all human beings. There should be nothing that divides us. Unity is strength. We shouldn't let a word or color weaken us.

    *my bad for the paragraph*
As a white guy, for the first time in my life, I regularly come across channels and videos of Black guys who share the same ideas, views, politics, sh** even sense of humor and other things that initially suprised me. I grew up in a very white town and all i knew about black people and their lives and culture was from tv, movies, media...
There may be lots of division right now. But the people driving and pushing that division have incidentally created a reason for all americans of every size shape and color to all come together and the more we come together, the more comfortable we are and all the racism and propaganda fades away as more and more of us realize...
If we ignore the differences being pushed and highlighted, and the hate they try to instill in us, its actually very simple....
    We are all Humans
    We are all Americans
We are all Brothers & Sisters
    Good People are Good People...
    Bad People are Bad People....
And race/color has nothing to do with any of that!!!!!

The *message* should produce a more powerful reaction and emotion then someone saying that word. The more people understand that the closer we'll get toward actual unity. As someone who lived 15 years in the projects down south and gave birth to biracial children, I never had an issue. It doesn't faze my people when I say it, not that I do very often, not as much as my kids do anyway. But I also think there's a huge difference between the actual N word and the word "nigga." Anyone who is ok living in a society where I can't say certain words now (without a "pass") or I can't wear certain hair styles or fashion just because of my *skin color,* isn't about real equality. IMO. They're about *supremacy* and ALL forms of supremacy SUCK. Either everyone can say it (if used in a benign way) or no one can, but that's just me. I've always been down for equality. Just my thoughts on it. Awesome reaction, guys. Much love.

The main focus of the song was to compare the stereo types of both the white community and black community. You guys are correct that the trailer park is the hood of the white community. But the parts I think you missed were the positive and negative stereo types of each community. You have the good folks and shit folks in both communities. Love the reaction and especially that it sparked actual conversation on racism. Merry Christmas fellas!!!

Great conversation guys! Appreciate the back and forth. Since the video was made to spark conversation on racism, it seems to have worked. We are all more alike than we are different. The shock value of the use of certain words may be hard to swallow, but it pulls the scab of old wounds and shows we all bleed red. And yeah AC was raised in Chicago in the hood. He's all about the person and not the race.

Where is the next meal coming from, where is the next paycheck coming from, can I afford a tank of gas? Can I pay all my bills this month. For many in rural areas a trailer park is a low cost way to live. Just like living in the projects.

I knew y'all get this one if you could follow any Tom Macdonald. ACal came up in the hood, he's been locked up and talks about what he knows about. He isn't acting or talking like someone he isn't. He uses those words because that's what he and his people talk like. Stevie Knight had the same kinda HOL UP, YOU CAN'T USE THAT ONE reaction even though he knew he should let it pass. Eventually he had a live session on RUclips with Adam Calhoun and they discussed this song, video and content. At the end everything was on the level and understood. Y'all should check that one out if you still feel some kind of way.

When I was 4 years old I used to hang at my friends house. Her family was white like me. Then one day I walked down the street with my babysitter and looked at the house and saw a 4 or 5 year old black girl on the front porch. I kept looking at her because in my mind I was wondering were my friend patty went. I said nothing. I found out that the family sold there house and moved away. That little black girl looked at me and called me white trash. I was bewildered at what she said to me. This was my first experience in my life with racism! I was 4 years old walking down the street in Dorchester, MA. So I’m telling you it comes from both black and white. It also comes from yellow, red and brown. This video was a “big picture” message. The real key here is victimhood is not becoming. WE need to get out of our victim mentality in order to move forward and grow inside and create a different life.

They were white and we are Mexican Americans. Then a younger brother started picking on my sister and made her tear up. I beat his ass and that's the first time I experienced hate and racism. I remember my mom working 2 jobs to feed me and my brother and we still went to bed hungry at times. But we knew she was doing everything she could while we had no idea where our so called dad was at. Would take all money he could find and b gone for days. Poverty and crime knows no color,it doesn't care. We have to rise up outta that ditch and do for ourselves. No matter the color, yes it's hard to be making minimum wage while you're friends are raking in cash. But yours is clean money, earned honestly. I rarely comment. But I always enjoy seeing the way you 3 see different, but your honest thoughts, comes in the end of your conversation, your team produces a type of consensus, rationally looking at all angles and roots.
I just saw Adam’s video off of Stevie Knights reaction of it. Immediately I came to see if yall had done a reaction. The young man on left always humble with thinking that he isnt as smart or whatever, yet always says something poignant that should be remember. He said “Racism is another type of Classism”. It is a way I been trying to express, without being able to, at least nothing to his statement. VERY WELL SAID, dont doubt yourself buddy.
Maybe I just wrong, with that said, the gent in the middle said it perfectly as well, saying its perspective. Where I came up was at bottom, only thing that would been worse, would be in another country that broke, lol. I grew up in 80s/90s, and we never saw color, outside of a description. Being in the middle class, neither poor, but not rich, just comfortable, my stresses, and perspective is going to be different, yet I still have the same thoughts, despite what the politicians and worse, the Media,, have been trying to do, create strife and division.
I have been saying that there really isnt racism, but more economic classes, or better said is Thomas Sowell says it best, paraphrasing “that the little racism that is left is on life support”. He will go down as one of the smartest people to live that is a subject matter expert is so many fields.
America was the first country to ever have Middle Class/. To me, it seemed Adam wanted to creat a shock value, to produce conversation. He described 4 classes. Starts out with the poorest of the whites, then the next class which Adam identifies with, showing lower middle class struggling to do right, and open minded. 3rd group poorest of the blacks with whatever that means to you, then he sings of the last class in this song the lower middle class of blacks. Struggling to do it right, work hard and be a good citizen.
For me, it felt he was showing that those two societies have very similar make up, that we need conversation like the 3 of you are doing. Conversation is the destroy of Nations collapsing on itself. History shows time and time again, when a nation is peaking, and doesnt have war it will create social disasters. From Egypt, Roman Empire, Ottamon Empire, etc.
Anyways, if you guys read this, keep it up Gods work. Ill stop rambling now.

I grew up in Rancho and my dad lived in a trailer park with my grandma so I've been in both settings n it's hard to know where you stand in the racial struggles of today. I had black friends when I was little that I didn't even realize were black until decades later pulling out old pictures of me n my cousin n our friends way back in Rancho. Half the kids were black but in my mind I don't remember them being black. Like I remember them but their skin color was never a factor. Eventually my mom got married n we move out to the burbs but I know where I was raised. My uncle grew up in the shit n he was like my dad cause I didn't give af about my step dad but my uncle was a down ass mf from the hood n me my cousins listened to him as we grew up n he didn't raise no punks. You know what I mean. Anyway. Just mad love n mad respect for y'all playing ACal's song n putting the race shit aside. We all in the same shit. And if you listen to the hook, he says "F-it though I'm redneck/white trash say it back" meaning that shit don't hold weight. If you don't let it eat at you... Even called his self a cracker..... Because as long as we hold onto hate, and let they "titles" be held over you, and control your emotions it lives on. The moment the N word doesn't put you in your emotions, it's no longer effective... It goes away when you let it go, and stop breathing life into the same hate, and repeating the cycle. BTW, that's his personal Cadillac, and this was shot in Chi-town. Quit letting silly stereotypes divide us and we can come together as one. And they can't keep keeping us down, divided and conquered pinned against each other..

"It's about classism". There are those who struggle every day of their life to make it and make things better AND there are those who never had to struggle a day in their life and they look down on those who are on the bottom looking for a way out. Look at it like this...what would happen if those on the bottom DID make it out, then those at the top would have no one to look down on, control, or sell the "idea" of racism to. Government and elite society created these "hoods" for a reason...power & ego. Look past race and you got the ghettos for one group, trailer parks for another, barrios still another and Chinatowns for yet another. With all the wealth by our Government being spent on other Countries and all the individual wealth being spent by rich people on themselves, the arts, the donations to Organizations etc, NO ONE in this Country should be living on the streets or in subpar neighborhoods with no way out. Now, don't get me wrong, people also make bad decisions that put them there. Some were born in these circumstances and some HAD to choose these areas to survive instead of being homeless.
Here's an example on a very small scale I am from a big city in Texas, born and raised. Considered lower middle class. My neighbors were Hispanic and the schools I went to white folk were minorities BUT who cares these people were my brothers and sisters, even into adulthood, we did not know any different. (Yes, you guessed it, grew up in the 70s and 80s.) I had a daughter with special needs and back then, there was not a lot of help. Her medical bills basically broke me being a single mom. Moved here to the country where things were cheaper. Yes, a mobile home park which is part of a gated community, paying monthly dues. Later, this community decided to build a golf course and big fancy houses. Now all the rich people complain about the "trailer trash people" that live in the community and why can't they get rid of us, we are an "eyesore" we make their property values go down, we are "no good lazy white trash". We pay the same monthly dues they do and yet nothing gets done in our area. All the money is put into their area. These same people will go to Church on Sunday, have clothing and food drives to "donate proving they are doing good things" but then....they meet you somewhere, you talk, have a nice conversation but the MOMENT you tell them where you live, it's over you just became a piece of gum stuck on the bottom of their shoe. They want us separated so we won't ever say enough is enough we deserve better. They need us separated to fulfill their "saviour complexes" and "I have more money therefore more power and therefore my voice, thoughts, ideas and needs are better than yours". They keep us in a cesspool environment so we can never climb to the higher rungs on the ladder. May each and every one of you guys be Blessed and remember...we may be looking through different lenses BUT we are all there together watching and living the same sh!+$how.

Dude in the middle you're very wise man. Didn't let the n**a word effect your message. I been listening to him for years I already stamped him. He wasn't lying about nothing he said in the song.

I'm from the East side of Cleveland and now I'm the last house on the left literally. Just on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Went from hustling selling hard to now restoring muscle cars out of my house all because I stopped living the life and actually started living life. I worked 2 years non stop building what I have doing it legit but still hustling. It can be done by anyone. The one thing I've learned throughout this process is that almost everyone in my past life is dead, in prison or jealous af. I miss the sounds of sirens and gunshots some random days. Butyst say I'm happy my daughter will not know that life.... God bless, get right and keep tight cause no one owes you a mothafukin thing. You must work for it!
