Qui Gon was probably the best example of what a Jedi should truly be. Less hindered by the Jedi Dogma and more about Balance. Very similar to Kriea’s views before she was exiled by the Jedi.
I always loved our Quigon was viewed as that hippie Jedi, so obsessed with going with the flow (of the force) living off his feelings that sticking to what his society (the Jedi order) demanded or rather expected of him. A lot of the council and Jedi as a whole looked down on him, yet he truly was the only Jedi in Millenia to learn how to become a force ghost, showing how right and powerful he became. After all, it was him who taught Yoda, the greatest Jedi master, how to become a force ghost and to learn to abandon the Jedi dogma and instead take the time to reflect on the will of the force
Quigon I believe was the only one that could've saved Anakin from the Darkside, Quigon understood the push and pull of Darkside that Anakin constantly felt.
Yes, because he himself went through it, same with Luke. That’s what makes qui gon and Luke the best Jedi’s of all time. Luke very much agreed with qui gone views
Common fan fic fuel but the act of saving Anakin would have been against the Balance though and if you paid attention you would see that likely Qui-Gon would have let him become Vader in the end knowing through is prophetic views that The One's sacrifice means balance for the whole of the Force. Some might argue it's why Darth Maul was able to put him down in the end so as to spare Qui-Gon from having to make the choice in the first place though I believe he would have in the end let the Prophecy unfold.
It’s been pretty openly discussed amongst directors and writers within Star Wars that Quigon was the enabling vessel of the force to bring the chosen one into the fold and allow for balance to be brought to it. Quigon himself and his survival would have been a huge factor into how Anakin would have developed. It’s why that final battle and it’s orchestration was referred to as “Duel of the Fates” the fight is for the fate of Anakin. Quigon’s battle to ensure Anakin can see the balance within the living force and Maul knowing that his master has a much bigger plan, an endgame so to say and identifies Quigon and Obi Wan as key pieces on the board that are too close to walking beyond the path of democracy and the Jedi councils dogma instead allowing the force to guide them to form an opposition against Sidious’s plan. As much as the prequels have their downfalls the core story and it’s setup and payoffs is phenomenal and the political context and how Sidious controls things is brilliant. It’s really fitting that when we reach Episode 3 that “duel of the fates” is referenced again in the final battles to form a closure to the story arc, the music is essentially creating a bridge between the two events showing this is the fate, the outcome from that initial battle all those years previously on Naboo.
Seeing as that Qui-gon was killed I felt Mace Windu should have stepped up to train him. If for no other reason he knows how to control his Dark side, something Obi-wan just wasn't equipped to help him However I do think Obi-wan's experience with Anakin would be greatly helpful with Luke.
Said almost the exact same thing my friend. He was the only true Jedi by listening to the will of the force and not being run by the Republic in the entire order. He did what he needed to and what the living Force told him to and the rest of them were being ordered around by a sith Lord and did not know it. They had a lot of balls looking down on him if he asked me. They all became part of the problem and were the very instruments they were trying to fight.
It's important to remember that Windu invited Qui-gon to serve on the Council because Windu believed that the Jedi had become stagnant and too intertwined with the Republic Senate. He believed Qui-gon could help him offer different view points to the Council and eventually separate the Order from the Senate again. One view point they shared is that the Jedi should have been free to act as the Force dictated not politics. Windu is well known for his distaste of politics and was often seen as a bit of rogue himself in younger years.
Really, I'll have to find the book and add it to my book collection. I've always thought Qui-gon was a bit of rebel and definitely a great Jedi who definitely understand the force.
I honestly have always been drawn to Qui-Gon Jin. Ever since I can consciously remember it when I was around the ages of 4-6 years old. The lightsaber color of green was always alluring. (Favorite color) I however remember being drawn to 2-4 characters out of any in the series. Mainly being Qui Gon, Luke, & Anakin. Qui Gon & Luke have always spoke to me the most. They always have an independent sort of nature & sense of duty to do what's right; even if that path lead them to be the light in the dark, or vice-versa! Now as I've grown older & more spiritual, Qui Gon's teachings & views of balance reside more within me. Hearing these things makes my love for him as a character stronger. I think a Qui-Gon series would be very great to stress these different idealoligies/philosophies. Hope all is well for anyone that read all of this & everyone in general; much love! 😁☯️👊💚🤟
dude that exact same thing happened to me, i remember watching phantom menace on vhs when i was like 7, and for some reason i always knew that qui-gon was def my favorite jedi out of all of them. anyone could ask and i would always say qui-gon jin. now that im almost 20, pretty much every single one of his ideas reside in me in such a cringy, but very real way
Qui Gon was the best example of a "Grey Jedi" ever presented. One who was completely led by the Force, and not by Jedi or Sith Dogma. I always hoped there would have been some sort of way to bring him back into the universe, maybe some form of Force Resurrection in order to begin training new Force sensitive beings into a new Grey Jedi Order. Will it happen? No. It would just be cool to have him back and seeing a series about him.
Qui Gon was early on my favorite Jedi as a child. I had a more draw to sith characters early on so Qui Gon being the only Jedi I really enjoyed at first was a big deal. That favoritism has absolutely carried on the more of his history I've learned. Such a great character.
As a child my first Star Wars movie was VI, followed by I, Luke's Green lightsaber became my favourite colour, so when Episode 1 came around my admiration for Qui-Gon was at its peak. Admiring him as a father figure, looking at him as if I were Anakin, when Qui-Gon ultimately fell, it hurt; like it did for us all. The point is that as I have grown older I appreciate more and more about Qui-Gon's character, morals and outlook that made him such an unforgettable Jedi. Learning more each time I watch Episode I and find something I had never noticed about him when I was younger. Qui-Gon is the best.
The Jedi code works if you use it as a light guideline like the line that goes “ there is no emotion there is peace” you should not deny or suppress your emotions but you should be aware of them and not let them over run you you must control them let them flow like a calm breeze but if you hold them in and surpress them you get what happened to Anikan it gets to much and it burst out like a volcano with destructive consequences
Jinn was without a doubt the most enlightened Jedi of his time. His flexibility to look at things from different perspectives & not adhere to the dogmatic teachings of the Jedi was how the Order should have operated. He would have been the perfect teacher for Anakin Skywalker had he lived; as he would've been able to have fully understand the conflicting emotions within the young Skywalker. I say this because Qui Gon Jinn had experienced what it meant to have been in love & could've been able to teach Anakin how best to handle this powerful emotion. But, the prophecy had to be fulfilled where Jinn wasn't to be Anakin's teacher as young Skywalker's path was already forged. If I were a padawon, Jinn would be the master I would wish to be apprenticed too.
Qui Gon was probably one of Jedi who should have been wielding a yellow saber honestly. Plo Koon and Qui Gon have a lot in common in terms of their views and the way they interacted with the force.
I would like to see a Quigon prequel film. Akin to the treatment han solo got. This would answer so many questions. See a young dooku. See when dooku left the order.(maybe a young palpatine.) Meeting obiwan as a padawan. Having Quigon press on as a Jedi, effectively siding with them. Despite having doubts his entire life of the Jedi order. This is a complex character who needs his story told. If nothing else we would get a Jedi order not at war. To know what galaxy actually lost.
Qui-Gon Jinn has been my favorite character in the star wars universe ever since 1999 when The Phantom Menace came out. Glad to see people finally appreciating him the way they should.
I think he was the only one who could of Saved Anakin and turned him back to the light again. Anakin needed someone who took his own path, rejected a seat at the high Jedi Council and yet still was some how Respected as a full Jedi.
would even like to maybe hear Dooku in it too ... where you see Dooku start to go in Qui Gon's "maybe the path of the Jedi is not right" path more ... setting up what happens with him
I would love an animated series of the adventures of Qui-gon and Obi-Wan, especially not geared toward saving the galaxy but dealing with local small scale imbalances.
Love qui gon. His view is close to ahsoka’s view and both are more pure than the jedi’s. Luke too but luke didnt live in the time of the jedi. Great video
Qui gon was not only my favorite Jedi, but also the true embodiment of what the jedi should be, not a dogmatic order of zealots, its surprising they were able to accomplish even a quarter of what they did
I do agree with Qui Got on the force, but I also think that a more complete version on this is Mace Windu’s views on the force which made him have a purple light saber and even allowed him to defeat Darth Sidius in one on one combat. In my view Mace Windu is the ultimate Jedi master in terms of combat power and wisdom, however Qui Gon did master a part of the force that no other Jedi before him was able to master and so he gets a lot of credit for that (force ghost).
I don't know if he actually beat Palpatine or if Palpatine deliberately lost in order to be in a position to get Anakin to make the final step in turning against the Jedi and going to the Dark Side
@@Steve_P_B, I say Mace defeated Sidious. Since Sidious knew he may lose to Mace he told Anakin anything he did in order to lure Windu and his companions into the trap. When he fought Windu Sidious had no fear of getting killed because he knew that Anakin would come to safe him. He knew he may not be able to defeat Mace but he didn't have to, because he knew his plan would work.
I would only argue on it because Mace windu had become a puppet of a sith Lord and so had all the other Jedi but quite on gin. Granted he fixed the problem when he found out and I do believe he really beat sidious I don't care what that novel says. The Jedi have become the very institution they were trying to fight by being politicians and dogs of the military or the Republic so to speak. They were no longer using the religion that they swore to uphold. Qui-Gon was not on the council because he knew this.
@@Steve_P_B disagree doesn't mean it's wrong. He still kicked the emperor's ass I don't care what that novel said. He was too arrogant to take the risk of letting a chance like that decide the fate of all their effort. Mace windu really did beat him. The reason he was a puppet bro and I don't like it either honestly but they were being completely manipulated and fighting a false war and were killing people that were just puppies and being manipulated they became the very institution they were fighting against. Mace windu embedded himself he had lost the ability to use the force because they could not see the clone army and they didn't know they were being ran by a sith Lord. Being manipulated by The sith makes him a puppet brother he was not pulling his own strings. Now it is defense the entire Jedi order had the same issue but he was in it. The sith order set that up for a thousand years and engineered the entire war with the separatists to put sheave palpatine into power. Mace windu did not stop or see this. Plus they lost their ability to see certain things. The emperor was able to pull a shroud over everyone including Yoda. They were all puppets they were all being manipulated and used to make the sith the ultimate power in the Galaxy again. Honestly I blame Yoda for that. But he was still one of the most badass Jedi to ever live and kicked the emperor's ass in a real fight. But all of them were being manipulated and did not see it coming if that happened to me I would be a puppet. Anyway I appreciate your comment and I love a good discussion thank you bro
I feel like Qui-Gon is probably my favorite Jedi, his way of thinking overall just makes sense and his willingness to open up to Dooku about his fear makes me really respect him, I just wish he hadn’t died, plus he could’ve saved Dooku from turning dark
Qui gon will always be the best example of what a jedi should be. A servant to the will of the force not to himself or even to others but to goodness itself
i dont know why but as a kid i was always more so attracted tp Qui Gon. Just his character seemed pleasing and easy going. i wish there was a standalone series on him. i would buy it in a heart beat.
I absolutely love the book series about Obi Wans youth training with Qui Gon, and wish I could still find it. It gives a bunch of insight into both Qui Gon and Obi Wan. I'm sure Darth Mouse has retconned it or disavowed it as not canon. But it's a really great series.
@@101joebro I know, and it's a real shame. But from what I understand, everything written before the sequels came out is now part of extended universe lore to allow it to still be sold to make Disney further profits and to keep fans moderately happy. So it should still be available for sale somewhere.
From a faith perspective, Qui-Gon Jin is the best example for a valid Messianic figure candidate; not lead by the established dogma, not in search of power but lead by the nature itself through the Force in striving for challenging balance, not stagnation and thirst for power. His views could be felt way into the training of Luke Skywalker. Training Obi-Wan Kenobi, it led to the fatal and crucial circumstance of the birth of Darth Vader and Luke and Leia simultaneously. He taught his former master Master Yoda things that even went passed Yoda's immense wisdom on letting the Force guide the Jedi, because Yoda was taught in the dogmatic ways of the Jedi. Not to point out that Anakin was the sole result of acting in complete accordance with the Force which the Council disliked. Hence Anakin's view on the Council was coloured by that; he was saved by someone who acted against the Council and who trained a Padawan in the same manner, whom, eventually, become his master, mentor and brother-in-arms. Qui-Gon Jin is the near equivalent to Christ in this universe due to the very fact of going against the established rules and dogmas of the Jedi, who had forgotten the wholeness of the Force and were clouded by well-maintained stagnation, that desired beyond his own will to make them remember what the Force is actually about.
Member when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan used ‘Force Speed’ that one time in TPM? And no Jedi ever used it before or since, even when it would have been super useful…🤔😂
Reminds me of how everyone eventually saw Dr. Who. It evolved from Doctor and funny guy to warrior and such. If you're around long enough it happens to everyone and every organization eventually
Come on Qui-Gon Jinn. Balance amongst all things. "Fear the darkside you should not. Power it gains from your fear. Embrace it with light and love for without it nothing would exist." I love the spiritual take of starwars. Ase!!!
I love how on the surface starwars seems like a very black and white story, good vs evil. But once you explore the entire story you see the grey areas of it and how the so called good guys weren't that good, and those bad guys weren't that bad
Qui Gon is an exceptional example of Taoism. That would be a pure example of a "Grey Jedi". He understood that life and death had their place in The Force. He knew there was balance in the universe. That's why he believed so strongly in the prophesy of The One. Truly one of the greatest masters. That's why he refused a seat on the counsel. No one who understands the way things work would ever sit behind a desk and decide how others should live
Had Qui-Gon lived, Anakin may not have turned to the dark side, or maybe he would’ve in a different way. Would love to see an alternate universe type of Star Wars stories.
I want to see a story where Qui Gon Jinn visits Darth Maul as a Force Ghost. I would do it either right after the fight with Ahsoka or a few months before the final duel with Kenobi. Not even sure what direction it would be either. Something similar to Obi Wan. That small shred of a moment right before he drew his last breath something on that level. Maul was a tormented soul. I feel like Qui Gon would be the type to pop up on him as a Force Ghost and forgive him. Causing conflict which makes him turn to the Dark side even further because the sheer thought of him even WANTING to go toward the light is disgusting to him but it’s there. Then it comes to head on Tatooine fades into the duel with Obi Wan and Qui Gon just over head looking
By the time of episode 1 the jedi council were nothing more than pawns of the republic, they let the republic control them and Palpatine knew this and that's why his plan worked so well that's why the jedi fell so easily... Dooku was right in episode II but it was because they were the republic no longer Jedi, Jedi should not be tied to any large galactic government. This is why in legends when Luke rebuilt the order, he did not use the old Jedi temple's site on Couruscant instead making his acadamy on Yavin 4, by doing so Luke separated his order from the republic, while allowing them to be an ally to the New republic. Qui-gon was the true example of a Jedi not tied down by any politics or galatic affairs but simply flowing with the force.
Even in the instances we got to see of Qui Gon and Dooku in the animated series, Qui Gon showed how flawed just following the jedi code was. Dooku made several decisions in which that would been "the code" or the right procedure to do, as prescribed by the Jedi Order, but Qui Gon would call it out. Dooku could have choked the life out of that corrupt politician - which, by the Jedi code, was okay - since Dooku did technically try to negotiate first. However, Qui Gon argued against this - as "Life is the will of the Force." The Jedi Code versus the Will of the Force was constantly at odds, because the Jedi Code completely dictated it - it was no longer the Force's will, but the Jedi Orders. The Force will always clash against those that tilt it or dictate it. For that reason, I think Qui Gon's mere existence was a will of the force - an attempt to illustrate to the Jedi in a physical way, that their ways were becoming flawed.
Qui Gon was probably the best example of what a Jedi should truly be. Less hindered by the Jedi Dogma and more about Balance. Very similar to Kriea’s views before she was exiled by the Jedi.

They were no longer using the religion that they swore to uphold. Qui-Gon was not on the council because he knew this.
@@BJETNTI disagree that Mace Windu was anyone's puppet.
Great Summary. We need to see more of Qui Gon teaching these principles to a new Jedi Caste
Sadly the removed every comic and book from canon. Only the movies are now
@@101joebro I know, and it's a real shame. But from what I understand, everything written before the sequels came out is now part of extended universe lore to allow it to still be sold to make Disney further profits and to keep fans moderately happy. So it should still be available for sale somewhere.
@@michellewilt4479 it's still for sale all over. But it follows the quote history is written by the winners.
@@101joebro very true, unfortunately. But they are still selling, and that matters.
Always appreciated Qui Gon. The teacher of Obi Wan is a special one. He brought balance!
Nice perspective
“Take a seat, Master Jinn”
“Nah I’m good”
Qui gon has always been my favorite jedi. He wasn't afraid to think for himself and not blindly follow anyone or anything.
In teh Cone Wars, Qui-Gon even taught Yoda a lesson in the force :)
The advantages of being opened minded and questioning those thing that do not seem right to being completely close minded and questioning nothing. \m/
"Qui-Gon was a rebel jedi."
_Cough_ Grey Jedi _Cough_
I knew there was a reason
NEED more Qui Gon!
I think Master Jinn is the best example of what a Jedi should be
i don't know how you can't love that intro of the Jedi in ep 1.
If only qui gon jinn was still alive to train anakin. Even Sidious knew how dangerous he was
Member when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan used ‘Force Speed’ that one time in TPM? And no Jedi ever used it before or since, even when it would have been super useful…🤔😂
I feel like a lot of deaths in Star Wars could have been avoided if they just had less balconies without guard rails.
He is the purest of grey Jedi to me
This is why Qui-Gon Jinn is one of my favorite Jedi he does not fear the dark side but he conquers it
Love your videos, often thought provoking, very much wish they got more viewership.
He is my favorite moral example out of all Jedi I know of.
He stands for truth and the will of the higher power over the will of man.
Let get a Disney Plus series with Chris Hemsworth playing a Young Jinn.
Yes
Qui-Gon jinn is my one of my 4 favorite Jedi and I would love to see something done with him in his early years
Liam Nesson killed it as Qui Gon. Damn
Qui Gon’s cameo in Obi Wan is going to blow our minds.
Him and Obi-Wan are my favorites. Not blind following but using his own way is the best way to go.
I've always loved Qui-gon Jinn. It was shocking to me that he was killed in ep. 1 & I'd love to see him return, even in an animated form.
I think it will be coll to see Qui Gon in the Ashocka series as a ghost. Imagine Qui Gon give a lesons to Ashocka.
Qui gon is the most enlightened jedi of all time... WIthout him there is no force ghosts and we couldn't even have a show with him finding anakin
My favorite Jedi and the BEST Jedi!
Yes, I want to see Qui-Gon come back. Played by Liam Neeson!
Reminds me of how everyone eventually saw Dr. Who. It evolved from Doctor and funny guy to warrior and such. If you're around long enough it happens to everyone and every organization eventually
That would be cool. A series dedicated to Qui-Gon Jinn Disney Plus
This would be most beneficial
Come on Qui-Gon Jinn. Balance amongst all things. "Fear the darkside you should not. Power it gains from your fear. Embrace it with light and love for without it nothing would exist." I love the spiritual take of starwars. Ase!!!
I would love to sit in and listen to Qui Gon Jinn and Revan talk about the Force.
after watching this i have so much more respect for him! we lost a good man
This video made me sub!!! So much love for qui gon!!!!
The only one true jedi in all of star wars content ive seen
*Qui Gon:* _'I hold the Rank of Master, yet I will not sit upon the council...'_
*Councilors:* _'Because of Obi Wan?'_
He was already one of a my favorite characters.
I always think what if Qui Gon had lived. He's my favorite, such a badass.
I love how on the surface starwars seems like a very black and white story, good vs evil. But once you explore the entire story you see the grey areas of it and how the so called good guys weren't that good, and those bad guys weren't that bad
Master Qui-Gon Jin saw the true path of a Jedi, and not the version promoted by the Jedi Council.
Ever since i first watched episode 1, I've wanted a Qui-Gon movie. I would love to see his story!
He is, by far, my favorite Jedi Master!
Liam needs to play this role again ASAP!!!!!!
Thanks for an informative and interesting update video
Had Qui-Gon lived, Anakin may not have turned to the dark side, or maybe he would’ve in a different way. Would love to see an alternate universe type of Star Wars stories.
I think Anakin would’ve turned even if he would’ve still lived he was always susceptible to the dark side no matter who would’ve trained him
@@naseemweathers8358 he did have a natural affinity to it.
Maul can’t appear as a force ghost cus he was a dark sider
Jinn had a set of skills, no doubt.
Jinn should have his own series.
Qui Gon "I'll do wtf I want" Jun
Strongly recommend the Jedi apprentice series. Definitely some of my favorite Qui Gon.
Qui Gon was far beyond most of the Jedi counsel if not all of them.
He is a taste of what kind of a jedi Luke would become
Master Plo Koon and Qui gon Jinn are my two favorite Jedi.
Qui gon was always my favorite
Man I really hope we get to see Obi-Wan communing with his Force spirit in the show! It wouldn't be right if it didn't happen.
Us mavericks have to go our on paths and follow the ways of the force . This is the way 🤣🤣
