I can not yet judge as to who is kinder between the two of you. As a 71- year- old Filipina, I can only give you an unsolicited advice. Now that you and Valentina have decided to really part ways, just be the best father you could be to your children while continuing to chart a new life for yourself. I am glad you pay attention to your kids' education and over- all development!

As a good dad to them, you know what is good for your kids. Yes..buy them new shirts, new shorts, and shoes. Student-appearance really matters. One way to avoid being bullied. After a month, they will be required to wear prescribed school uniform, ID, shoes, etc. Good luck. ❤ God bless.

You should tell the teacher or the principal about the bullying. It must stop!!! Very good idea to buy them clothes and shoes for school. Also good that other kids see dad pick up your kids. And pick them up early so they don’t have time to hang around and be bullied by some kids. ☺️💕
Usually the fathers are the ones who discipline the kids.😊

You can ask any tailoring shop for the uniform but i think in that public school i can tell that the school is not strict enough for the school curriculum. Teach your kids in english at home concentrate on them, dont rely on teachers alone. Teach them a simple english and tagalog.

The reason why Misha and Kostya are in Kindergarten it is because they need to learn the basics education learning system of Philippine Education. Maybe if you enrolled them in Private school where it is accredited for foreign students, Misha will be grade 2 because they have special education for foreign children who do not know English, but if you only prepared them in a private tutorial academy like English Language as second language it will not be hard for them to learn. The school they are attending right now is public so they really have start from Kindergarten to learn everything, but it's okay, going to school is not how old are you but the important thing is they will learn from scratch, soon they will be smart enough to adapt. I think you should find an educational book for children, with English to russian translation. .or they can watch in RUclips so it will help them on their communication skills, then little by little they will learn Tagalog and Visaya. Just talk to them in English translate it to russian then Tagalog . What about spending an hour or 30 minutes teaching your children, learning new vocabulary words . You also tell Valentina. I wish you the best for your Family, and good relationship with Valentina , Continue helping each other just for the sake of Misha and Kostya. Godbless

If they have a certificate from school that they completed grade 1, maybe they can present that to the school principal and ask to move them to their appropriate level? I’m not really sure how the public school system works but worth a try. On the other hand, I can see that the boys are enjoying attending the class and interested in learning, which is a very good sign. I’m also glad that Sergei, makes the effort to immerse his kids into the culture and asked his kids to part take in cleaning the classroom. I for one hated that chore when I was in school 😂😂😂

Sergie you mentioned that your sons use their own money/savings they got during their birthdays or something. I think it is best that you do not encouraged them to use money for stuff like that. But instead save it. Most filipino parents they provide their kids some allowance (money when it is school days. It can be daily or weekly say like for example 50pesos-100pesos for a day for 1 kid. If they have a good canteen so they go to the canteen during recess or break time and buy food and drinks from the school canteen or they can buy it ahead before going to school. You can train them that if they used all their daily allowance or learn to spend only a portion of it and save the rest they did not spend. That way they will learn to save and not to spend all their money at once. Best you provide them daily or weekly allowance. For school kids that needs to commute take a transportation then the parents provide extra money for transportation back and forth. That is how the filipino parents do with regards to giving allowances to their kids. I remember in college our allowance can either be weekly or mostly monthly. If we spend wisely so we were able to save some for other stuff we wanna buy. 😊

Public and Private schools in the Philippines have uniforms required for the students. Your kids should be wearing thier school uniforms everytime they go to school. I see some students not in uniform maybe they could not afford yet to buy uniforms. If your kids are good in Kindergarten, could speak and understand english already, they can take test of ALS if they can be promoted to higher level. First ur kids should learn english if then try to take ALS test for assessment.

It’s great that your kids are being exposed to different cultures. While the quality of public schools in the provinces of the Philippines may not always match international standards, you can trust that their emotional development will be nurtured here. Filipino culture places a strong emphasis on community, where children are encouraged to interact, support each other, and build strong bonds. Once your children reach college age, it would be beneficial to consider bringing them back to your home country to continue their education. Filipinos are raised to be resilient, adaptable, and hardworking. Like many of us who have gone abroad, they can easily adjust to new environments, and they’re well-prepared to face challenges head-on without being overwhelmed.

Philippine education system is up par to international standards. That's why Philippines is the biggest supplier of nurses all over the world. It is a proof that the education system of the Philippines is excellent. Also, the Philippines is an English speaking country so should these Russian kids wish to transfer to universities in Europe, America or Australia then their transitions should be smooth and easy.

Filipina Mothers are actually the one who pampered and nourished children.
Filipino Fathers taught their children to be strong. The one who discipline and give advise how to become a good person.
What you are doing right now is adorable and sweet. But never forget to explain things to them properly because kids have many questions so you need to tell them the right answers.

That’s really tough, even the teacher was struggling of speaking in english, i wonder what your children will learn from her in all year round. You guys should have homeschooled your kids or hire a professional tutor.

Teach them to tell the teacher right away if some students bullies them... let's not normalize bullying...it will just get worse if you just let it pass

Hi Sergie. It is crucial that both of your boys adhere to the uniform and wear appropriate footwear. Instilling a sense of hygiene, health, and safety at a young age is essential. Drawing from my own upbringing in a remote area in Mindanao, where wearing a uniform and shoes to school was mandatory, I can attest to the importance of such practices.
In order to facilitate their English language acquisition, it is advisable to minimise the use of Russian at home. Encouraging the boys to learn simple English words such as "eat," "drink," "come," and basic counting will significantly enhance their vocabulary. By doing so, they will be better prepared to excel in school and enjoy the learning process.
Best wishes for their educational journey. From London with ❤️😊

The teacher said you can have your uniform tailored by tailors outside the school because usually the school does not provide uniforms. You will be the one to look for tailors outside and ask if they tailor uniforms for this kind of school. 😘😘🥰

I think in that school it’s not mandatory to wear a uniform, if it’s not, then you can just buy new or have them wear clean clothes at school. Have them wear slippers or sandals/shoes also because that’s part of discipline. Also, other kids will not bully them. When they play at home it’s fine if they want to be barefoot.

    I. teach in the Hollywood Hills of CA and all of our non English speakers are Russian and Ukrainian. They pick up English in 1 to 2 years because Russian parents are involved and care about education. The kids are willing to work hard. They sometimes speak to me in Russian and it sounds so fast. Asians and Russians are the easiest to teach because of the cultures of wanting their children to be the best they can be. Other students, the parents whine and complain on the child's behalf about why their child didn't do his/her homework, or why the child didn't study for a test, etc.
