in order to avoid getting into such a position, the initial planning and design stages of launching a warehouse is vital. This way you can work out the size of warehouse required to accommodate your stock.
So how do I, a warehouse coordinator deal with my employer panic buying tons of extra inventory to the point where my 5000 square foot warehouse is well beyond its gross capacity. Literally can't move a fork lift in there. Yet they keep bringing in stock way faster then it is going out in fear they won't have inventory for customers. My ware house is a locked disaster. ☹
It's a very common problem sadly. Usually the best approach is to share some facts, that illustrate the impact it's having. (1) Damages (2) back orders as you can't find stock (3) safety (4) dead stock taking up space etc.
@@supplychainsecretsHi thanks for the reply. It is indeed causing huge problems. We have orders backed up by over a month because of large accessibility problems. Safety is bare minimum as crawling over stacks of inventory to reach second or higher racks of product is common unless refused. Sad to see this is a common issue. When flow exceeds even our gross capicty by 20 percent plus it negatively impacts accessbilty, tracabitly and customers . It's a sinking ship unless those making the poor decisions stop and listen to and follow F A C T. 🙄
I'm not UK based but driver shortages are a global problem. US, Australia and many other places. With the UK as I understand it, a lot of the challenges are due to Brexit (visas etc). So I think there are plans to allow more non-UK drivers into the country.

Exactly. I don't forget to account for planned growth.
Please tell me where can I find this clear board and white marker you're using in your videos?
It’s home-made. Wooden frame, low ion glass and led lights around the glass. Not sure if you can buy them ready made.

@@shadlad91 Sounds very unsafe too! Might be time to move jobs…….
@@supplychainsecrets - what causes back orders?
What are the supply chain managers doing about the current issues in the UK? in terms of shortages and lack of drivers?
