    You're amazing! What a full circle moment -- from being at the ER as a patient, to being there as a tech, to doing your rotation there. So proud of you

    Thank you for the excellent summary. Should I enter certifications that have expired that I do not use any more, such as PEPP, GEMS, ITLS, and PHTLS? I only listed my current active ones of BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

    Hi Mario, thank you for this detailed video, go Bruins! I graduated ucla around the same time as you, now circling back to PA. I was wondering if you ever mentioned academic probation on your application, since you fell below a 2.0 gpa the semester you got the F. I'm in a similar boat, got 2 D's one semester and fell below 2.0 and was on probation the next quarter. I barely remembered it until I saw the question on CASPA asking about it. It would help me out a ton to hear your insight. Thank you!

    Hello, great video bro.
    I live in Upland, Ca and im becoming more and more interested in exploring the medical field. It might just be a mid-life crisis but nonetheless the desire is there.
    What would you say about the Radiation Science Bachelors Degree at Loma Linda University with an Associates degree in Health Sciences from Cal Baptist University?
    Obviously the Associates degree will come first.

    Hello, I enjoyed seeing your tips here on the channel. I'm Latin, too, I was born in Brazil, and I've been here for just a little over five years. In January of that year, I started to study as a Pre PA student, and it has been a big challenge starting with the language. I believe your channel will be of great help to me. And if you have any advice to suggest to me now that I'm at the beginning of the course, it would be greatly appreciated

      Hi Alice! Thank you for the support and your kind comment. I would highly suggest enrolling in a medical terminology course at some point in your prePA journey. This will definitely make your understanding of pathophysiology much easier! Saludos amiga!

      I applied to 8 schools, received 4 interviews, completed 2 interviews, received 2 acceptances, and declined the other 2 after getting into UCD.
      I submitted mid June - during my cycle the UCD application deadline was earlier, around early July. Now it’s Aug 1st.

    Hi Mario, how did you go about getting your work published? I am currently trying to publicate my research article which is a systematic review. I have my ORCID set up for starters...

    • @themexicanpa
      @themexicanpa  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Shannon! my PI spearhead this by sending our publications to a few different journals. Beyond my direct contribution as an author and data analyst I unfortunately was not directly involved with the process. I would recommend reaching out to your local universities librarian (preferably one with a med school or biomed library) for help! Typically you’ll submit to journals that publish articles related your specific niche of study.

    I’m currently struggling to find PCE that is compensated as most require certain certifications . How did you get your emergency services technician/EMT experience? Do you have any advice on how to gain patient care experience while in undergraduate with no experience/certification?
    Thank you so much for sharing your application!!

    • @Gooddaysonly72
      @Gooddaysonly72 6 месяцев назад

      You can get an EMT certification in around 3 months, but theres also easier ceritfications to get such as a CNA license which has asmaller scope of practice but is often required if you want to workin a hospital! Im both EMT and CNA certified and if you want a good salary and a pretty simpleand easy certification, Id def recommend being a CNA. I dont think theres any easy roles to get without being certified in someything unfortunately, but you could always look at EMR or MA certs as well which are also relatively low levels of care.

      Thank you for your comment friend! That is awesome that you're considering the PA career this early in your educational journey. I would definitely recommend to start thinking about obtaining some certification (ie CNA or EMT) to start working a few hours a week and gain your patient care experience hours!
