    SUMMARY
-Meditation requires a certain atmosphere and a good amount of time, so make sure that you won't be interrupted or distracted by anything or anyone. Put on loose-fitting and comfortable clothes. Stretch before you start meditating to prepare your body for it.
-Any kind of meditation is done sitting or lying down. Breathe naturally and focus your attention on your breath and how your body moves each time you inhale and exhale. Don't let any other thoughts distract you. Be sure to do it at the same time each day so that it becomes habitual more easily.
-All you have to do is focus solely on one thing. Truly focusing your mind on one thing without letting it wander from one point to another takes time and practice. But it brings wonderful inner harmony and a new sense of calm with it.
-Mindfulness meditation encourages you to closely observe all the thoughts that appear in your mind. Your task isn't to judge them, you just have to acknowledge each and every one of them and be aware of their appearance.
-Mantra meditation basically involves repeating a specific sound, word, or phrase over and over again until you silence your mind and enter a deeper meditative state. “Om” is said to be the first sound heard at the creation of the universe. Om Tat Sat is yet another mantra you may want to memorize.
-Meditation reduces the symptoms of anxiety disorders, such as phobias, social anxiety, and panic attacks, to name a few. Other benefits of meditation that have been confirmed by the scientific community include lower blood pressure and blood cortisol levels as well as improved blood circulation, among others.

A big big must, growing up I always assumed that meditation was for hippies and monks but including this in my life and making it a daily routine for only 10 minutes a day has done wonders for me. Not stressed as much and I can now finally live in the moment more.

This is what I needed. I have been fighting anxiety and panic attacks for hours today. After watching the video, I went out on my porch at 1:30am and meditated as the video instructed. It wasn't easy to stay focused the first 10 min, but I decided to try it for another 10 mins. I still wasnt perfect, but I noticed once I was finished the ringing in my ears had finally stopped and that scary chest pain eased up. I cant wait to do it again tomorrow. If I can get such quick relief from the scary symptoms of generalized anxiety and panic disorder my first time. I can only imagine how i could control this disorder with practice... Thank You

+Angela weatherholt - Stay with it, make it a daily habit (or, perhaps preferably twice a day - one in the morning, and one in the evening [before bedtime, but before you start to get really sleepy - so not to just sitting and nodding off]).
It certainly helped me to get rid of my anxiety! I've suffered from GAD, probably since I was borne, or at least as long as I can remember, which in my early twenties "(d)evolved" into panic-attack-disorder. Which at that time prompted me to get professional help.
Although, I found the "common psychotherapy" not the least helpful. But then I met another psychologist, who used then a new combo of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and "Mindfulness" (a sort of meditation). And although CBT helped somewhat - what really both struck, and have stuck with me is the kind of breathing-excersice which is a great help for instant relief when you're having a panic-attack (called "four-corned-breathing", or something like that, in which basically you concentrate on making your inbreath as long as your outbreath - and make them slow down!).
And finally, after some months practice of mindfulness/meditation, I could see clear results: such as no longer suffering from panic-attacks, at all...and now, after some years (although it didn't take that long time) - I would no longer say that I suffer from any anxiety! (Although, that is not to say that I NEVER feel anxious, of course I do...like anyone else. But, another great "biproduct" of meditation is to learn how to be more accepting of your roller-coasting emotions - that is: To accept that anxiety, fear, anger and so on is just as much of the emotional repertoir of human emotions as feelings of calm, peace and love is [just to mention a few ex.] ).
So, good luck - and stay with it!

I try to meditate because my job is so stressful, sometimes it gives me headache... Though as a beginner I found myself lost in many thoughts running thru my head during my first week in meditation, but after a month of meditation. I can say that it really works, even my mother asked me why I am not in a bad mood lately. The way I think after I meditate 20 minutes 2 times a day for 6 months compare to the times I don't meditate was huge.. Right now I didn't easily irritated when my co-worker approach me with their senseless problems, but right now I laugh them because it doesn't really makes sense to me.

And if you want to get perfect life then start doing pranayam...
Remember some thing before doing meditation.
    * neyam= which refers to discipline
    * aasan=which refers to how to seat or posture
*pranayam= refers to techniques of breathing
    *concentration
And remember that you nor a thought neither a emotion but a energy...... Start from tody , be happy , have some patience , be ragular and best of luck

The more I tune into things that are closely aligned with being nature-based, the more I see how many of these things we should be exposed to at much earlier ages. This is possibly one of the things that SHOULD be done in daycares/schools. It would in some ways assist the young students as well as the teachers and staff. I saw a little while back that there is a school here in Chicago that does meditation sometime during the day. I would love to see the results of the students, being that they're exposed to meditation at a younger age

Meditation has helped me tremendously. I studied it after i suffered immense trauma from loss of many different things in my life. It lead me to become angry combative unbalanced and alcoholic. Meditation gave me insight in to the mind and how to make peace with my thoughts and open my heart which was obscured by negativity. It gave me balance in my life and the mental discipline to overcome stress or pressure or disappointment or ego are perceived to be happening. You learn to see things from a different perspective detach from any feelings or emotions that arise from it then let it go. Repeat as many times as needed to feel relief peace love and compassion. Good luck on your path.

I'm no pro, and I haven't done for a few days now, but will get back to it again. Try a mediation app. I use insight timer this way you can track your progress, listen with or without guidance or music or om or nothing just time it. And you can connect with others and thank them for meditating with you and more. 💜

Some great tips there. I am usually very stiff if I sit for too long, so stretching before starting your practice is a great tip. Thank you
