Honestly if Knuckles starts finding some of the Chaos Emeralds in the places he's going to, I could definitely see Rouge being hinted at in the miniseries, even if it's only brief.

I was hopeful we'd see Rouge in this show, to introduce her and develop her dynamic with Knuckles beforehand, so she could then slot in nicely to Sonic 3 without having to take time away from that film's runtime to establish her.
The problem is you cant expect everyone who watches the movies to also see these series.
That is the problem the MCU has.
If Rouge becomes real, the internet will implode!

@@Santoryu90 We got confirmation that Pachacamac is in this universe, and is ALIVE for that matter. That's already a pretty significant plot point. Plus, I'd have to imagine that Pachacamac, who seems to be a bit more laid back in the trailer, is probably going to be giving Knuckles some sage advice and maybe talking him down from being so obsessed with fighting battles. This is going to be a character arc for Knuckles, so I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of it, his personality is more closely resembling how he is in the games, still devoted to protecting the Emerald, but less gung-ho about wanting to fight everything that moves.
The other Echidna in the trailer is Pachacamac. He was the leader of the Knuckles Clan you saw in flashbacks during Sonic Adventure 1.
I have a feeling that Pachacamac will be some sort of hallucination or spirit guide for Knuckles, maybe trying to keep him stuck in the old ways of the Knuckles Clan with a arc of Knuckles learning to accept life on Earth.
Or flashback? There is a shot of what looks like a young Knuckles in there.
@@MegaRaylandPachacamac is wearing modern clothes (an apron) in front of a bowling alley shoe rental. Not much of a 'flashback' there. I think SeanGokuu's assumption of Hallucination/Spirit Guide will be more accurate, since that seems to be a consistant thing with the Echidna Tribe.
Me: I'm disappointed that Sonic 3 isn't taking place in Las Vegas. So many missed opportunities for Casino Level references.

Well- they did the (original) Green Hills level in the first movie, the ice, temple, and water levels in 2, and they are doing a pseudo Casino level in this show.
Still plenty of levels to go for the third movie.

The other echidna seems to be the tribal leader from Sonic Adventure almost looks exactly like the one that was in the flashbacks with flashbacks with Tikal
I’m shocked at how well shows like this Knuckles show and the new Ted show are actually making the cg characters look great is a very cool trend I hope stays consistent. Also hope Metal Sonic shows up in 3

I wasn't expecting Kid Cudi at all, but I'm not mad at it.
I honestly do think Metal Sonic could happen. This is wild speculation, but I noticed with the logo reveal for Movie 3, that there's an emphasis on metal being used for the quills of Sonic and Shadow. While that could just be a design element made for the sake of looking cool, I still think that it's possible they could be alluding to Metal Sonic making a cinematic debut.
The quality of this trailer is similar to the quality of the movies

the metal sonic theory is super cool, i rlly kinda doubted he'd ever show up but ur giving me hope 😭would love to see his and robotnik's dynamic in the movie-verse someday at least before jim fully leaves
I totally agree with you. Why add robotnik in sonic 3 just to help shadow when he can do his endgame by creating metal sonic.
Metal Sonic is honestly a very easy character to implement into the movies since he's more of a weapon than a character most of the time. You can easily have him walking around and acting like Robotnik's main enforcer.
I believe they're setting up something big in the Sonic franchise. With Knuckles spin-off show coming in April, and Sonic 3 coming in December, something good's bound to happen within Sonic Universe, we just gotta stay tuned in!

I don't think they can use that character anymore, as Sega is paranoid to use the American cartoon/comic characters, because of the Ken Penders and Scott Shaw legal battles years ago.
The new human villain does kinda remind me of Hunter from the old Knuckles comics though.

I'm happy that jim carrey is back as eggman in sonic. I know they would only make him help shadow but eventually create metal sonic. Metal sonic is my second favorite villain under shadow. If you go to 4:28, I notice that the piece of the eggbot that he is cutting looks like the white colored metal sonics body.

After the second movie came out, I theorized the plot would be essentially Sonic Adventure 3 but replace the Bio Lizard with Metal Sonic.

But I know they wouldnt do that because it will be not only to powerful but to early to make a villain as strong as master overlord. It's a highly interesting theory on how Metal Sonic could be integrated but slowly. Maybe it might not happen right away, but the idea of having the villains, outside of Robotnik, possessing a part of Mobian DNA to use it for their own gain, that's a great gateway to explore. Even so, referencing and foreshadowing (pun intended 😂) the concept of Project Shadow for the third movie.
Nonetheless, Knuckles is looking really good 👍🏻🔥, very excited for what's to come for the series. And yes, Knuckles front and center always ✊🏻✊🏻

Sonic & Shadow fight Metal Sonic. That's never been done before... except in Sonic Boom... and the comics where Knuckles was also there... and technically at the end of Sonic Heroes where everyone did that. So yeah it's possible
The Knuckles spin-off storyline looks similar to Sonic's movie storylines, but I will let that slide. The villain also reminds me of Whiplash from Iron Man 2.

I like that they're bringing actors and actresses from the movie to the show. Because echidnas are from Australia and Australia doesn't do normal animals, they look like a mutated mix of porcupines, armadillos, and anteaters.

Knuckles is one of my favorite Sonic characters (which I would also love to have his hat) so I am excited to see this come out, & also with the fact that both Sonic & Knuckles have their quills be used to power up technology maybe also a reference to how Robotnik placed animals in his Badniks
@BlackNerdComedy The old Echidna working in the bowling alley is Pachacamac. He's Tikal's dad and the last chieftain of the Knuckles Tribe from a few thousand years ago. Which means we might see Tikal in this series or in Sonic 3.
I’ve been saying it for months now and finally someone see it as well. That in Sonic 3 it’s going to be like Godzilla VS Kong, Sonic and Shadow will fight and Shadow could win. Then Metal Sonic will show up and maybe Shadow will try to fight him first and be losing, Sonic will come in and seeing how Metal Sonic could be really powerful and they have to transform into their Super forms to beat him.
Would probably be way better than trying to explain Biolizard?

The villians remind me of the "bad guy group" from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Also, I wonder if this is the beginning of the Mobius animals powering robots. Honestly thought they would go down that road in Sonic 2 before getting to the Chaos Emeralds.

The irony is that Knuckles *does* chuckle and is in fact famous for it. His introduction in Sonic 3 specifically shows him toying with Sonic and springing all kinds of traps and misfortunes on him, then chuckling in his face afterwards. This continued on in Sonic & Knuckles too.

Honestly, I was kind of hoping to see the Chaotix. We don’t get enough of Vector, Espio, Mighty and Charmy.
I'm just going to point out that the bearded villain (Rory McCann) looks an awful lot like Bob Hoskins, and he is wearing an off-red set of cover-alls. I think someone was thinking about Mario Bros when they made this character.
