Yeah. Its actually a free fly event. You can play the game for free for the week, test all the ships, and see if your pc can run the game, you should try it out.
Star Citizen just dropped their 3.23 patch and on the 17th will be running their annual military themed in game convention Fleet Week. 3.23 has put in most of the changes they showed off at their IRL Citizen Con last year. It's like a brand new game with all the updates and changes. Can't wait to see what all the content creators make in the new patch!

@@ralaxgaming Star citizen needs to get easier to play. It's come a long way but there's a lack of structured content. These large dynamic missions should be more numerous and recruit players in smaller groups to do jobs, maybe against players working for another faction.

What they really need to do is get server meshing in and working because it’ll never be a game without it and no amount of events or new content will make the game better if performance is bad.
an adventure of mine... i was going to a station so i could clear my uh...'parking ticket'. came across a space yacht with a door open! so i went inside! looked around, nobody in sight. i head up to the bridge, and i spy someone running down the hall at me. so...i lit him up! then his buddy found me hiding under a pool table...and lit me up. o7 also there is a Free Fly going on on May 17th :D even if it's just for a lfew minutes, i'd recommend ya give it a shot! new update is crazy. and the sights...
FYI. Almost all the ships you see on the convention floor. You can tend and fly for about 2 days. And every day their is a different manufacturer showcasing different ships
There will be a Free Fly during this Invictus (17th of May) which is two weeks this year. Just make an account and try the game for free. Hopefully your computer can handle it cause the game is very much in an alpha state.
They did optimize it more than before, for many on "vulkan/vulcan" it runs smoother. Issue is more so the fresh bugs due to new patch. Guessing the most pressing ones will be fixed till Friday.
The Invictus Launch Week show starts this Friday May 17 and has a free fly week so anyone can try for free. In the show halls you can rent anything on display for free to do whatever you want with. This year is big because the NPC version of the Polaris is making its debut and will be player usable later this year. The Idris capital frigate from Squadron 42 and the eventual playable version will dock at space stations for tours the interior. Always worth a try when its free to see if your machine can handle it.
Story of mine is old but it sticks with me for just how amazing this community can be. This was waaaay back (years like 2019, maybe further back) when there was only crusader (gas giant) as a planet that you couldn't land on and Yela/Grim Hex (moon and pirate station). Many of the convinces weren't in the game (players couldn't send out requests for pick ups, couldn't invite to parties or at least not easily, and like only 5 or 6 missions (if that). I was just playing in a alien ship (Xian Kathual, or a fast scout ship) when a player in chat said his ship bugged and kicked him out and he was floating around yela. I forget the reason why but he didn't want to respawn unless they absolutely had to (forced respawn might not have been implemented yet and the time to get into the sever was bad back then). So every person on the server, citizen and pirate alike, put aside everything and decided to 'race' to try to find the guy. No attacking allowed. I was on the citizen side and started flying at high speed shooting my lasers hoping that either the guy would see or hear them and somehow against all odds he managed to spot me and guided me to him. I was able to radio in to a larger ship where we were at and they used my ship as a beacon to pick the guy up. Honestly, like I said, I've never been apart of a large community that could put off fighting each other and come together just to waste 30 minutes just to find a rando just for fun. Made me love this game more and I'll keep playing it over most other MMO's that I feel just became too overly toxic for no reason.
Rubix raptor has some fun videos on star citizen that I recommend, namely his latest 3 “full fleet battle for the empire of earth” “capitol ships and glassing pirates” and its second part “journey to the cursed moons”

Ships can be expensive but you don’t have to buy them IRL. You can buy a $45 starter package and earn almost every ship in the game with in-game credits. You can also play for free during free fly events. It is alpha so there are wipes and one reason some players buy ships is for convenience if ships get wiped but that doesn’t happen every patch. You can also melt ships for credit and upgrade ships on your account to new or different ships so that’s one way to get better ships over time. Honesty, there is just nothing on the same level as the BedBananas trilogy. That said, as far as reacts, the server meshing demo from CitizenCon last year would be good but nowhere near Bed’s videos. You started at the top lol
I had a lot of serious health problems for the past years, so much I wasn't sure I was gonna make it trhough, even just mentally, sometimes thinking about... you get it. Yeah man this game is beautiful and it only gets better and better. Back in the early days there was only arena commander which is a game within the game that is for practice but at the time that was everything. I just joined an organization and every weekend we would sit in a voice channel for team speak 3 and play and let's just say we were taking shots whenever the game had an issue and for many of us the night ended early. That org at the time had about 20 or so members but now has over 6000 and now use discord instead. For the amount of time I've spent playing Star citizen I've definitely gotten well beyond the worth compared to other games. Now with the current patch 3.23.1 the server can crash or the game can crash which is rare now mind you and you just resume where you left off.
Fun fact fleet week starts the 17th of this month and it lets new players try the game FOR FREE if you have a lick of time i suggest you try it out and look at the convention center and rent out some ships !!!!
With 3.23 just being released, performance wise it’s been amazing, have some citizens I play with running on some old hardware and difference is night and day for them. So you say it may not be able to run it, but I think with the update it may be possible. Also next update confirmed Pyro system coming out. Will be another big leap forward. O7
@@Jcornman24 It’s definitely playable! I have a i7 8700, 3060, 32GB DDR4, SSD and I get 30FPS in landing zones and 40-50FPS on planets. Not great but still playable and yours should be a little better. Bugs and stability are bigger issues TBH but you can check out the next free fly, play for free and see how it runs and how you like it.
Hope things get less rough dude. You should try star citizen out as its free after the 17th of this month for two weeks for people to try it. Invictus week starts then too. Its full of bugs at the moment but will be eventually more stable as they get the tech up to speed with the insane scale of the game. Love the videos! Watch the Bedbannanas vid of jump town too as that's a great one to show some combat gameplay
you can see there are many ways to make money in Star Citizen. many ships are available with game money now, and all will be eventually so there is no need to spend real money. people do it to fund the game, they know they don't need to. they do it because they want to.

Man I can play this on old gaming laptop it has a 1050 TI in it. Is very CPU intensive as it has not been optimized yet. So crank up your graphic settings all the way and then just back them down gradually as you play for the best performance. If anything having 32 gigs of memory is a major help but other than that there's not much you need
The Free Fly event is going on now. Your computer may be able to handle it if you tweak your graphics. Why not just give it a try and see if it works? Since its free no loss if it doesn't work right?

WTF is wrong with your computer??? In 2024, I run SC with a Core I5 6400, a GTX 970 and 16 GB od DDR4! It doesn't run WELL, but it runs. Very high graphics , medium cloud quality : 20-25 FPS planetside, 30-60 in space, 30-35 on moon surface.

No, not a simulation. During fleet week, you get to rent any ship in that hall for a limited amount of time.
