  • A short film to help you spot some of the 'red flags' associated with domestic abuse. The second half of the film shows you how we can all help support those experiencing abuse. This film is particularly aimed at those in front facing professions in health or other areas such as hairdressing who may be in position to reach out to patients or clients or those working in management roles in organisations where staff members may be affected. This forms part of Ask Support Care training on domestic abuse from Medics against Violence and the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit. The way the male is portrayed in this video is EXACTLY the way my ex acted.. It takes a lot of strength and support to end relationships like this. I really hope that if anyone in a current situation sees this video and it resonates with them I do hope they have the strength to leave. It’s not worth losing each and every day to a person that just wants to destroy you so you are a shell of your former self ❤️❤️

they are manipulative monsters who will stop at nothing to destroy you,U have been experiencing mental abuse for years but ever since I stood up for myself and reported the abuse things have changed slowly in my direction ,The worse thing is that due to difficulties I still have to live under the same roof ,Even if things are not easy I no longer listen to his menacing words and ignore his presence ,

I have managed to get help for domestic violence before I became another statistic. But now I find I am in a mental abuse relationship and it is even worse. They have everybody fooled and think I am crazy, I needed to see this. Bless you

These films make me realize that defending myself is very important in that situation. And these men's opinions are worthless, they need to look in the mirror the men do, they are not so greaat themselves for hitting a woman.

Trying to obtain help and support is extremely difficult. Instead of telling the victim to leave hold the perpetrator accountable for their violent abd abusive choices. These guys can be charming and treat people with respect and suddenly become quiet when police are mentioned. The impact of their violence affects the victim long after the abusive event. PTSD and flashbacks keep the victim trapped in the violence and repeatedly feeling and remembering the tension, fear and pain triggered by violence. Those witnessing or hearing the violence are also adversely affected. Children, neighbours, visitors, friends and family suffer along with whole communities where violence has become normalised and repeats itself into the next generation/s. .

My first husband, when asked by his attorney in our divorce court, had he ever hit me, replied "I only hit her where the bruises wouldn't show". I still flinch when a man raises his voice or hands around me. I tense up and know the blows are coming.
I have a good husband now, he never hits me or abuses me. He knows my past. He doesn't understand how any man could hit his wife, especially me. He loves me. ❤

It's easy to judge. Woman think because they would leave, you can. Everyone is different, some have spent a lifetime, knowing nothing but abuse, it's hard for them to believe, they are worth anything else.

Yes! My ex dragged me out of bed by one arm because he couldn’t handle that I was sad because my horse had died. I was so stupid, I didn’t think of it as abuse. Even though I cried. It took him belittling me in front of our daughter who was 4 at the time, for me to leave. I couldn’t raise her in a house where it was okay for her dad to speak to me that way.

In my DV relationship, he would put down and criticize every inch of me and make fun of me. I was eating too much, even when just getting home after a whole day, while he sat on his ass. This was decades ago and I still hear the comments about my body and face and personality being laughably horrible, yet he was jealous. Strange huh?

Everyone should watch Australian Bettina Arndt, who is an Australian sex therapist, journalist and clinical psychologist. She is so amazed at the feminist propaganda on DV, she made this video. It is very easy to listen to.

Why do you have to negate the abuse males commit in order to promote male victims ?
Men can be victims too, but that doesn't mean it's feminist propaganda to raise awareness about male violence Which 8s the majority of violence on the planet .Most men who are physically attacked, are attacked by other men.

It gets worse when you leave. There is no way out. Help does not come and you look over your shoulder every moment.
Do not be fooled. Help is scarce and oftentimes makes everything worse.
The only person you can truly rely on is yourself.

please don't spread the word like this. Yes it can get worse when a person tried to leave an abusive relationship but there is so much help out their for women, children and men who are in this type of situation. By scaremongering women into not leaving is not making their situation any easier.

    • @NarnianLady

@@genevawelch9865 Because that's when the abuser feels like losing control. That causes rage and often escalates the situation. That's why many women end up being killed by their exes AFTER they left and tried to make a fresh start. SO, leaving needs to be done after careful planning, with professionals if necessary..

It's not alleged abuse. It's just putting women in the place they belong. There's nothing wrong in how a man wants to do that. If u women didn't complicate things then u wouldn't allegedly get abused. Get over it.

These stories very disturbing, and very upsetting, this man was extremely cruel and Very violent
This was absolutely terrible and Very difficult to watch
I hope this Woman Survived this terrible situation and left this very violent situation
Beating up a Woman doesn't make a man tough...
Beating up a Woman doesn't make a man strong...
Beating up a Woman doesn't make a man cool...
Beating up a Woman doesn't make a man a man....
Beating a woman is Not masculine
    Beating Women is NOT sexy
    Beating Women is NOT manly
Using abuse, and force for sexual intimidation, by harmful behavior for sexual intimacy with someone doesn’t make a man, strong, cool, or, manly.
I believe in the Safety and Well-being Women, Children, and Men
WOMEN Have the RIGHT to FEEL SAFE and BE SAFE
This is a reply post regarding a article on Assault Against Woman:
For what is statistically true, or accurate, and even what is not included statistically, and all other crime such as this is what is ( violence against women) Always unacceptable...
Women have the Right to Feel SAFE and be Safe...
No woman..., or person....child...should ever have to experience this kind heinous personal intrusion in their lifetime, this seems to be occurring at least according to news reports more, and all to often.
Actually this activity should be in a stage, or state of Reversal, and NOT Increasing, I am continually upset as well as greatly disturbed in hearing such stories, as I have always have been...
My Heart Always... goes out to any person which have experienced any such similar experience of intrusion, attacks, and, or invasion of their personal well-being... due violence, and or violent behavior,
I will continue Praying for the Safety and Well-Being of Others...
    Keep everyone SAFE
    PLEASE BE SAFE

This was a movie not real but in real life it's much worse, both for women and men- men are very reluctant to report abuse
