I loved watching you blush when Avi had his sultry moments. For a true basso profundo experience (that was his operatic training), check out this audience video that was taken at his recent May 18, 2024 concert in Atlanta, Georgia, where he uses the first verse of "Change on the Rise" as an intro to his original "Get Down", but he sings it in that super-low basso that rattled drinks and audience members' insides, and then transitions to "Get Down". But when he does low bass for a loop for the chorus, the person's phone cannot handle it and it distorts (and we know he's been known to blow speakers in PTX concerts). This one is so fun! So many “treat” moments: Scott’s highs, Avi’s lows, Mitch’s sassy rap, Kevin’s whisper x beatboxing, Kirstie’s essential background vocals. There is a live version of this that they did on a radio show (I think) that shows Kevin’s simultaneous beatboxing and whispering a bit more clearly. I also vote for their original Coffee in Bed.

Yes, Kevin is doing the whispered "one less problem" AND beatboxing, but in this studio recording they were recorded separately. as I listened to you speak about how #PTX doesn't just sing a song as it is, but they make it their own, it became clear to me that the reason is that they have to write the arrangement so that it sounds full without added instruments, and in that process, they really do add their own special "flavor" to all the songs they cover. Love your reaction!
I remember Scott talking about their collaboration with Dolly Parton on "Jolene", saying that they had to essentially rewrite the song in order to make it something they could perform a cappella, and they were worried about her reaction (she was fine with it, of course, being Dolly!). But that shows that they really do have to take a song apart and rebuild it almost from scratch in order to be able to perform it a cappella - they really do perform "upgrades"!

Hi Carmen. For recent stuff I recommend their concert live streams from the last few years. Hollywood Bowl 2022, and their Christmas tours from the last few years. Yes I know some don’t like Christmas outside of the holiday season, but I promise you that Pentaholics like PtX Christmas music all year. ❤❤
It’s Avi that’s making that sound! It’s not Kevin doing both whispering and that at the same time. Watch Avi closely. You can see him working his throat. I can make that sound, but not as well… 😉 Avi frequently supported Kevin with his own sounds.
