      I was thinking the same thing. I love singing and listening to harmonies. And it blows my mind the one he figured out for this song. Even though he wrote this I can't find any version of his using this harmonic approach . Not only was this beautiful and original it also tells me he was very inspired to play with these young ladies.❤️👍

      @@terrystorey5331 About the time when you libtards who didn't give a shit about this band decided you were going to jump on their coattails for PC. I've seen her, up close, middle of the day, just before she got her shot (thanks to daddy) at being part of the DC's. Nothing but a barfly drunk at noon giving a poor waitress a hard time. A total bitch and pig ugly. Her daddy had a contract with the DC's, and when their lead singer said she was going to leave, Lloyd Maines had the leverage to push her into that group. IF he had held them to their recording contract rather than let the development deal go forward with Sony, Sony would have found another band to be the flagship group for their new label, and the DC's would have lost their own shot. It was "take my daughter or miss this shot". It took megalithic Sony with all its resources an entire year to make her ready for the stage. The sisters were already there, touring and opening for some of the biggest names in C&W. Nat needed guitar lessons so she could play a few chords. Their best sound man to put the multiple effects together to get her sounding better (her daddy had a recording studio since Maines was at least three years old. He never recorded her until she needed a tape for Berkley School of Music. He never recorded a single solo by her prior to that, nor used her as a backup singer, and he had handled and recorded a lot of people who went on to the major labels. Sony bought into her being the "rebel" to add spice to the group, but they had their hands full keeping her from getting shit faced before performances and recordings. Even big dog Sony couldn't stop Nat's mouth from burying them with the very fan base that made them A list entertainers in the first place. Yeah, she's ugly and not just on the outside. She's a spoiled fat ass bar fly who's daddy gave her a golden ticket.

      No one in the public has really heard Natalie Maines real voice. Sony assigned their best Sound Engineer to the group during their run specifically to deal with the inadequacies of her voice. The mixing to improve her voice was described by that Engineer publicly, so Sound Engineers since can deal with the squawking chicken.

    • @galenwarren3579
      @galenwarren3579 5 лет назад

      @@sune8641 country twang? Yes. That's NOT what Natalie Maines has. She has a bad voice for singing. Even her father, a famous studio owner in Lubbock , never recorded her as a backup singer or as a soloist until he set her up to attend Berkeley School of Music. A recording was required. She registered, but never attended a class because her father called her home and set her up with the original DC's. Sony, who had signed a development contract long before Natalie showed up, was stuck with her. So, they put their best engineer on the job and it took a YEAR to prepare her for the stage. They only really created two original songs. The rest were covers, because it simply wasn't feasible to teach her how to do anything but mimik previous songs and singers.

    I love James Taylor and have given him more positive comments than I can remember. With that said, James was an excellent backup singer for the Dixie Chicks! Remember the Band's song "The night they drove old Dixie down?" In France on March 5th, 2003 as Natalie was introducing the Dixie Chicks' latest single, "Travelin' Soldier," she said, "Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas." Country music and mainstream groups around the country turned against the Dixie Chicks and it ultimately ruined their career. It was ugly. "That surely was the night they drove old Dixie down." The "Mob", now hating the French for hosting the Dixie Chicks also put out an edict that French Fries were forever to be called freedom Fries. Many uncomfortable truths are now known about the 2nd invasion of Iraq. Was Natalie wrong in what she said? Great job Natalie, great job Dixie Chicks. You were and I'm sure currently remain a massive inspiration and role models to junior High, high school girls and female college students around the country. Well Done.

    • @Joannakathryn

      I'm not sure their careers were ruined, but since between them they've got 9 kids, they had to slow down a little. When they were here in concert a few years ago, I couldn't get two seats together because the tickets were just about sold out. (I agreed with Natalie."
