I completely understand why most of the fanbase isn't fond of Halo 5, but its multiplayer is super underrated and plays beautifully on the Series X/S. To me it feels much closer to a proper Halo game than 4 did, but I think it may have been much more warmly received if it were a brand new IP instead of being attached to Halo.
Modern Halo's SBMM is ridiculously cutthroat, though, so that pretty much kills a lot of desire for me to keep playing either 5 or Infinite for long. Thankfully MCC has custom games with people actually in them, but... man. Modern shooters need to cool it with their matchmaking algorithms. Even MCC's matchmaking makes me want to question why I like Halo so much.
i woulda liked halo 5 and infinite but the mstchmaking hates me and thinks i deserve to struggle literally every game against S tier sweats. id rather play the best kids on halo 3. than lose to groups of new fair weather fans that are partied up dumpin on me during the release of halo 5 and infishit

If they’d just balanced the number of campaign missions between Blue Team and Osiris, I would have been able to fully love this game. And I imagine it’s the same with a lot of people.
I really hope H5 gets a full and proper PC port! I didn't grow up with the series, I got into HALO when MCC came to Steam PC. I play on gaming laptop with mouse and keyboard. I like Infinite, CE, Reach and H4, especially BTB. H5 Warzone looked sooo fun! it's a shame it didn't get to Infinite.
I don't have much experience with H2 bc of the matchmaking rarity and H3 doesn't feel good on M&K.
I do really like the fluidity of H5, but I hope for the next HALO entry they go with Infinite's art style but graphically closer to the concept art, as in "Out of Action" and more cell-shaded with more computer resources allocated toward physics and complex map interactions. Just my 2 cents tho!
I miss Action Sack and 5v5 Super Fiesta. They made Hardcore Super fiesta a Ranked playlist in Spring 2019. I made it to Champion 1, good times indeed.

On 2021 i found a topic on wother waypoint or reddit where Halo 5 players started a campiagn to basically lie about "how good Halo 5 is" since after launch in 2015 the numbers were lower than Halo 4 on MCC, which Halo 4 had previously been thought to be a wash but more people moved to it when MCC was patched around Halo 5's launch that same year.
Basically fans of 5, the few couple hundred there are, are doing everything they can to convince people the multiplayer that was hated by both causal and hardcore fans alike was actually good.
As someone who knows how the community is, after seeing that, and after hating Halo 5, i cant inngood faith take this video as antthing but propaganda.
