In case anyone is curious about this method, an early segment of this level involves you driving a scorpion tank across a bridge. Banshees will attack you. If you board the banshee in this segment, I believe you will be boxed into the area with invisible walls. So, you have to have the banshee follow you underground intact. Clear out all other enemies underground. The banshee's AI gets very confused during this segment, so getting it to do what you want feels like herding cats. The underground segment exit will be a round tunnel, and there will be a loading zone in this tunnel. The trick is to have the banshee go out the tunnel and board it during the loading zone. Too early, and I seem to recall that the vehicle explodes and you die. Too late, and the banshee despawns. Being that the hardest part is getting the banshee to go where you want while underground, the timing at the loading zone is trivial by comparison. Once you have the banshee in your possession, you can fly straight up to the double bridge and grab the scarab gun. Once you fly back down and get a checkpoint, you now have a profile that possesses the scarab gun permanently, though only for the remainder of the level, so I would recommend saving accordingly.
I did the Outskirts Scarab Gun in a totally different way back in the day on the OG XBOX. Ahh, the good old days of struggling for a gun you get to use for 60 seconds.
I'm guessing you did it the way I figured out, probably drove up to the hole in the ceiling from within the highway and then Sputnik boosted up to grab the gun mid-firing. It was about 17-18 years back and teen me had waayyyy too much free time...
No, the best way to do this is hijacking a banshee on the bridge have it intact until underground destroy it’s wings, and get it throughout the main garden to the city and then fly over up top.
The tags for the scarab gun are also on the map Turf in multiplayer, we used to mod that into being a playable weapon in multiplayer all the time back in the day hahaha.

Took me and my buddy like a whole day to grab the other two on og xbox. Duel wielding scarab guns was the highlight. Pain in the ass to get them both, we needed to use skulls and scum save the checkpoint system so much.
I just discovered your content yesterday. I absolutely love seeing these games taken to their limit like this. As a previous fan that hasn’t picked up Halo in 10 or-so Years, I couldn’t be happier haha.
I remember the long ridiculous hours of trying to get the damn scarab gun back in the day with a warthog and grenades and I forget the name of the skull that makes explosions 2x.
RIGHT? Could you imagine if that was found back in the day? After seeing that, folks would believe even more wacky, unhinged theories about hidden stuff in the game.
For the second one, the OG method was having a banshee follow you all the way through the tunnel and then highjacking it at a very specific moment so that it didn't blow up/despawn. I remember spending HOURS trying to get it when I was younger 😂
Would anything have happened if you loaded the next areas with the other player while still driving the scarab? Would it have let you out into the open area it normally walks in?
Most of the older generation knew all about the Outskirts and the Metropolis guns. In fact I got the outskirts gun from inside the tunnel 14 years ago in single player: Halo 2 Outskirts Tunnel Scarab Gun Sword Fly Done. However, wow, I was stunned and taken aback while watching your cell room BAW. Back in the day we called your grenade box blast through a wall a BAW (Break Any Wall). What you showed was fantastic, there's an Elite inside that gun chamber which Mr Monopoli showed in his vid about it. So we knew we could grab that Plasma Rifle from that Elite but it doesn't shoot. The problem is we can't seem to get to that gun before the Scarab cutscene. You just turned that whole approach upside down. I loved how you figured out the activation with the Brutes but I have several other questions too. Do you have to have Acro or can you BAW through the wall and get to the Scarab in the Original Game with that Dead and Alive trick without Acro? Hellofafind pal.
Hey, Grumpy! Nice to see you. You can do this without the use of Acro in the OG game. You just have to play through Uprising and High Charity. You can use the uprising or high charity skip or not, it shouldn’t affect it either way. You just have to make sure you’re paused as your head is hitting the load zone of the hallway before the prison room. Just boost up with two players.
@@TheShiltShow Thank you, I can't wrap my head around everything you did but I'll try to recreate what you did tomorrow. How did you figure out the D&A merge trick, it took us about 15 years to figure out that dead and alive awesomeness.

Oh, this was just the thing I needed to get to see today! Halo 2 is one of my favs for how much out of the map you can explore. I find it so relaxing to fly around with the Acrophobia skull and see all of these places you're not supposed to. And I *still* have never noticed that window you can jump through by where the Scarab passes to let you into the area before the door opens! I'm totally going to do that, ASAP, just because. Dude, you've unlocked memories of the time I had with friends getting this gun. I remember I did a project on the tech of Halo 2, including what the Xbox had as it's hardware. Think I got an A- on it. Man, those were the days.
12:56 am I the only one who sees the scarab design clearly marked on the cement in anniversary? Like the devs drew it to say "stand right here dude." You can see scarab teeth super clearly and then an outline of it's butt. Edit: 13:41 after failing and saying I suck several times, stands on the picture of the scarab I'm talking about and get's it. How does he not see the scarab on the ground to the left of the lines?!?!?! It's greyscale, look for the teeth man!
Not only do I know about these scarab guns, but there are a few more. These were shown off over a decade ago. There is also a way to control the ball turret of the scarab apparently and also if you do some special tricks you can get the scarab on on great journey where the energy door is missing and when you go down into it there is a scarab gun waiting for you in the center. There are also supposedly phantom guns you can get through tricks without mods as well, but I never saw how, too. Basically, plasma rifles that shoot phantom turret gun projectiles

Porle 117 has the only video besides this one actually driving the Scarab gun, and it was not "shown off over a decade ago". You sound like a redditor.
@TheShiltShow There was literally no arrogance, you took it out of context. Like something out of a Key and Peele Text Message Skit. I even said in the reply "some" because I wasn't going to spam link you a dozen or so to show you some of the other cool tricks to give you ideas later. And I was referring to the scarab guns and phantom guns were from a decade old. Damn, there was no reason to be rude and insulting. I never once name called you.
Thank you for explaining the most secret things in Halo 2. Everyone never believed me that there was more than one you can get. Plus, this is actually the first in depth attempt to get all of the documented
I remember seeing videos of people getting the first one on the original xbox. They never really showed how to do this, but I remember seeing the gun in the air, so I knew it was legit.
One of my favorite things to do with my cousin back in the day, find the giant Beach ball, and mess around the Scarab guns. This game was truly a game of its time. A game of a golden age of Gaming, without microtransactions and sub packages. Games with developers that really had a heart, and budget to back it.
@@JJ-ef5qd I would argue with the amount of exploits it takes to get the scarab guns, the sword should definitely count as a super weapon, it’s invisible and has infinite charge, that’s fire
if you play with time or score you can bring weapons between certain missions. most of the missions other than mombasa streets, delta halo, sacred icon, high charity and uprising. you'll carry over your weapons depending on chief carrying to chief and arby carrying to arby.
who the hell figured this stuff out, and nice job pulling it off regardless! This was cool to see, I loved halo 2 and knew about the 1 scarab gun but not 3!!
Waaaay back in the day of OG Halo 2, my friend and I heard a rumor about possible getting a Banshee through the first area of Metropolis. When we managed to get it through the tunnel, we flew around a bit and found the scarab gun on top of one of the buildings, it is between caution cones and doesn't despawn.
Halo 2 was probably the last game I played before you could easily find out every hidden detail on the internet. Managed to discover all of the skulls and break most of the maps on my own. Back in the days when we had a console with a few games we cared about and relatively little content, this is what we did lol 2 was the first one I ever beat on legendary and eventually did it with blind skull which felt amazing. Never even beat 1 on legendary normally lol
I still remember when the Outskirts Scarab Gun was found back on HiH. It was uploaded to Mythica. It was done under split screen with some crazy stuff involved. I wonder if your video mentions this and the discovery of it.
The floating gun firing was actually a thing they did in Halo CE too on the recording you find in 343 Guilty Spark and the other pelican when landing on the cartographer's beach.
I remember spending to much time trying to get the gun at the end of metropolis. When I finally did it i was so happy and shocked that it was actually real and not just a fake RUclips thing. Old school gaming was so crazy because stuff was hidden everywhere.
Good memories. I remember getting the scarab gun with one of my friends with some banshees. I had no idea you could straight up steal the gun from the mech though
Wasnt there a second super weapon on top of one of the skyscrapers in metropolis? I remember getting it on the og xbox via a banshee that had to be glitched through the "This town aint big enough for the both of us" checkpoint tunnel.
back when halo 2 was new, we would get the scarab gun floating above the traffic cone by luring a banshee into the tunnels, breaking its wings just enough to it can fit in the little tube, and then hijack it right as we enter the loading zone for the next area, allowing us to fly straight to it :)
I got it back in the day with me and my friends taking a banshee through the mission I still remember it’s able to be hijacked in the ventilation tunnel just before the snipers but it took so many hours to get it to follow you while taking everyone on
This reminds me of the halo infinite op turret gun that’s literally just a holdable infinite ammo scorpion gun, sadly I died once and didn’t reload after they removed the spawn:(
In the OG game, there’s multiple super weapons. Scarab gun and phantom gun on outskirts, 2 scarab guns on metropolis, and iirc there’s one on Great Journey.
I remember I must've spent at least 24 hours on my original xbox trying to get the scarab gun. Pulling off that banshee stunt to get it is a pain in the rear
I grew up getting all of these and exploring literally every single thing in the game. The amount of hours ive spent out of the maps is probably about equal to the time ive spent in them lol. Halo 2 is the absolute goat for, always will be.
The Scarab gun took a long time to get, but I knew you could get the one in Metropolis almost as soon as Halo 2 released in 2004 but I didn't know about the 2nd one.
aight im like almost finished with the vid and now im totally lost. what's happening that allows the trick of "body merging" at around 19:00 ? Memory manipulation? If so, how does it compare between XBOX and PC?

I've watched so many Halo videos, and think I've seen everything there is to see about the older games, but every single week you blow my mind with something I'm completely unaware of. Keep up the great work Shilt!
"So what would you like on your burger?"
Me: 14:27
😂😂😂😂
Nice 😂😂
I hate this so much thanks.
this is one of the coolest halo glitches ive ever seen
Took me and my buddy like a whole day to grab the other two on og xbox. Duel wielding scarab guns was the highlight. Pain in the ass to get them both, we needed to use skulls and scum save the checkpoint system so much.
The area you drive the scarab in looks like a really cool cut mission. The dar atmosphere with natural foliage and waterfalls is awesome.
I just discovered your content yesterday. I absolutely love seeing these games taken to their limit like this. As a previous fan that hasn’t picked up Halo in 10 or-so Years, I couldn’t be happier haha.
Welcome, Slimbob! Thanks for commenting!
I remember the long ridiculous hours of trying to get the damn scarab gun back in the day with a warthog and grenades and I forget the name of the skull that makes explosions 2x.
Sputnik
That unit possession is insane, can't believe people found something like that
RIGHT? Could you imagine if that was found back in the day? After seeing that, folks would believe even more wacky, unhinged theories about hidden stuff in the game.
Super weapon? More like pooper weapon
Yesnt
Got eemm
the uap thing is insane man, thoroughly enjoyed that part
For the second one, the OG method was having a banshee follow you all the way through the tunnel and then highjacking it at a very specific moment so that it didn't blow up/despawn. I remember spending HOURS trying to get it when I was younger 😂
I gave up trying to get it after having it despawn from around me too many times🤣
I stumbled on one of your videos and im addicted. I love what you do, and the time you put into making these videos *chefs kiss*. Keep it up man!
Thanks, Shmoob!
Hey can you find my dad? He went to get milk a couple decades ago he might be stuck outside the map
Let’s give it a shot? Actually no, sorry buddy can’t help with that one
I Would Have Been Your Daddy...
I love how this started as a super weapon video but then became a video about bump possession. Also I never knew the Beam Rifle could be used for the double grenade glitch.
Thanks so much, as always, for all of the work that goes into finding and doing these tricks, glitches, etc. for us! 😎👍
Honestly since I found you about 3 months ago you’ve been my favorite RUclipsr and it’s amazing to see all the growth you’ve had just in those months you were at like 15k subs don’t stop brother and LETS GIVE IT A FUCKING SHOTTTTTTT!!!
It's greyscale, look for the teeth man!
sweet perfect time lemme save this episode and go make some eggs
The UAP part was insane. As someone who played this game as a child I still cant even comprehend what I was seeing. Great stuff here man
Been watching for a couple of months now. I absolutely love your channel my guy, thank you for the content.
"And no one knows about them" is wild.
Adding to your incredible Halo legacy! You are some kind of wizard. Thank you for yet more awesome entertainment. Cheers!
dude this is amazing, never knew about all these guns growing up on halo, this is so impressive thank you!
Thanks for watching, Caleb!
love your content man, so many things about the old halo game I and most people never knew about.
Dawg, you did not watch the video at all

@TheShiltShow I did watch your video. I skimmed to see the three sections you were gonna show that you said no one knows about, the outskirt scarab gun, the metropolis scarab gun (non-bridge), and the great journey scarab vehicle.
I simply established in my comment that I did know about them, but also, there are not only other super weapons like the scarab gun but also other ways to get them and even some other weapons not shown.

Not sure why you got so defensive. It wasn't even a personal attack. I just thought you'd find it of interest.
@@XFerginatorX
Because you ooze arrogance while also pretending to know everything.
none of the things you linked were of anyone driving the Scarab, so saying you have "seen all of these" is just a straight up lie. You skimmed my video (i.e. didn't even watch it), then linked two entirely different videos and concepts on The Great Journey. The AUP Scarab Turret is not driving the scarab.
Porle 117 has the only video besides this one actually driving the Scarab gun, and it was not "shown off over a decade ago". You sound like a redditor.
@TheShiltShow There was literally no arrogance, you took it out of context. Like something out of a Key and Peele Text Message Skit.
I linked the wrong videos that's why I fixed the links yet you're still referencing the old links for some reasons. I did watch it, as I clearly said the 3 tricks you did. I just didn't watch all full 30+ minutes of the video of showing the entire process. I get you were showing off how you did it for others, I just came to see which ones you accomplished.
Glad you shouted out mono!
Love the content & the dedication that goes into these video.
Mom! Grab more cheddar bites. The shilt show is on!

Love this content! Truly never knew about any of this! Great video!!
Keep killin it buddy love the content and love seeing you getting views you deserve
Games with developers that really had a heart, and budget to back it.
one of my best achivements in gaming was getting the scarb gun!
2:18 you missed the secret energy sword that has infinite charge
It doesn't have infinite charge, any sword (can) have infinite charge but only if you do it right
@@JJ-ef5qd oh is it just a bug
@deez5946 kinda, you just need to empty it before the end of the level then bring it across into the next level
@@JJ-ef5qd I would argue with the amount of exploits it takes to get the scarab guns, the sword should definitely count as a super weapon, it’s invisible and has infinite charge, that’s fire
its nice to see you appreciate Halo 2 so much. Probably my favorite of the series.
Glad someone finally got these ❤
I appreciate the nostalgia your vids bring friend 💯 keep up the good work!!
"And nobody knows about them".
Buddy... really now?
It’s a blanket statement. Next time take a few more hours to see what he meant.
I did the Scarab gun way back in the day. Was a ton of fun
Dang bro you're dedicated, this is some really cool stuff fr. Gonna sub and check out more
deserves way more likes and views cause ik this took time and patience
Been a while since I saw quality Halo glitching.
Cheers for the new content
I'm loving these vids. I miss how games used to be made
if you play with time or score you can bring weapons between certain missions.
most of the missions other than mombasa streets, delta halo, sacred icon, high charity and uprising. you'll carry over your weapons depending on chief carrying to chief and arby carrying to arby.
This was cool to watch i remember being a kid seeing videos of the scarab guns when people first found the 3 guns.
Bro your dedication to doing these glitches is amazing
Last one was literally a metaphysical journey just to perform a video game glitch lmao
Idk how people figure out how to do this stuff, but it's very entertaining.
who the hell figured this stuff out, and nice job pulling it off regardless!
This man is dedicated and I love it
Halo 2 was probably the last game I played before you could easily find out every hidden detail on the internet. Managed to discover all of the skulls and break most of the maps on my own. Back in the days when we had a console with a few games we cared about and relatively little content, this is what we did lol
2 was the first one I ever beat on legendary and eventually did it with blind skull which felt amazing. Never even beat 1 on legendary normally lol
I still remember when the Outskirts Scarab Gun was found back on HiH. It was uploaded to Mythica. It was done under split screen with some crazy stuff involved.
I wonder if your video mentions this and the discovery of it.
I’ve tried finding origins for some really old tricks that were on HiH, but it’s hard to find anything anymore.
I'm dying at the "We'll never select this option" portion of the installation 😂😂 True WinRar veteran
Golden Elite: "Damn it! The humans know a covenant secret. Pay no attention to the plasma rifle behind the curtain."
Yeah I think that's the one he mentions where it gives the achievement, he didn't go for that one because it was *relatively easy* for him
@@Maksimszz ohh gotcha
back when halo 2 was new, we would get the scarab gun floating above the traffic cone by luring a banshee into the tunnels, breaking its wings just enough to it can fit in the little tube, and then hijack it right as we enter the loading zone for the next area, allowing us to fly straight to it :)
I got it back in the day with me and my friends taking a banshee through the mission I still remember it’s able to be hijacked in the ventilation tunnel just before the snipers but it took so many hours to get it to follow you while taking everyone on
AUP gotta be the most sick glitch ever to be found in Halo history.
Outskirts was such a fun level to explore. Also the crash site delta where master chief lands near that temple thing
14:00 it does not shoot if the tank is dead, it is the same even if you don’t take the gun and kill the tank
I saw a comment about this and only one other vid coving it. Thanks for a good one
More like The Himothy Show.. cause my man is HIM.
Bro really thinks he's Him... because HE IS!!!!
this one was super fekn cool, good job!

"winrar is going to ask you to buy it. we will never click this option"
GOATED
I remember I must've spent at least 24 hours on my original xbox trying to get the scarab gun. Pulling off that banshee stunt to get it is a pain in the rear
Bro just body jacked the shipmaster like it's nothing... Craziest halo thing I've ever seen.
The tricking scene for halo 2 on Alt-gaming was so much fun.
I grew up getting all of these and exploring literally every single thing in the game. The amount of hours ive spent out of the maps is probably about equal to the time ive spent in them lol. Halo 2 is the absolute goat for, always will be.
Games with such easter eggs in them are made with true love.
The Scarab gun took a long time to get, but I knew you could get the one in Metropolis almost as soon as Halo 2 released in 2004 but I didn't know about the 2nd one.
Im so glad i had an older gamer brother growing up. I legit used all these weapons at some point after learning from him
aight im like almost finished with the vid and now im totally lost. what's happening that allows the trick of "body merging" at around 19:00 ? Memory manipulation? If so, how does it compare between XBOX and PC?
I remember getting the Scarab Gun back in the day using the Banshee method.
Pain in the ass.
