One classic Ray Ban model- two very different sizes! The 50mm and the 54mm. Any person with any size face can wear either one, just depends what you're going for! :)

I've been looking at this model of glasses for a few days now, mostly to determine what size to take for myself. But seeing such videos, and watching them live, I realized that there is something very strange in one of the sizes. I am a big man 192 cm and 105 kg. with a medium-sized face and I usually buy the largest size glasses, in this case I wanted to take the 54mm version. BUT I noticed something that shouldn't be the case. The version with a size of 54 mm. they do not scale properly, are not proportional and in practice look like a radically different model, compared to the other two sizes 47mm. and 50mm. The 54mm version looks emphatically feminine, style - Lady Gaga, are not so aggressive and definitely do not fit well on a man. Therefore, I bought 50 mm. although they are a little narrower on my head than I wanted, but I would not wear 54mm., even if they give them to me, without money.
I agree, they should have increased the bridge size and made the shape more uniform, but they didn't for whatever reason. I would highly suggest looking at the 2140-F Low bridge fit because it has a 52mm lens and appears a fair bit bitter IMO. I have a review for the 2140f and it's one of my favorites because the shape is true to the past.
Galin_G your reply gives me hope that sunglasses i ordered will be good fit. I am not tall as you, but very close with weight. Maybe couple of kilos less. They are cool green Original Wayfarer Colorblock 50-22. Thats the only size they had online. I hope they wont be too small

I just won an auction on ebay for a pair of the 2140 54mm x 22 black with g-15 lens like yours, but I've noticed most are 901 and mine are 622. I assume it's the frame color because the tortoise are 902 I think. Do you know what the difference is between the 901 vs 622? They look the same to me. Thanks

Hello dear Kristen. I ordered these new Original Wayfarer Colorblock green with chromance lense. They are so beautiful. However, its 50-22 size(didnt pay attention while ordering). I am about 5.11” guy, big neck/shoulders, and my face is between medium/large. I think there is a chance for them to be too small/tight. But i also hope there is a chance that they will somehow fit perfectly. Go check them out and tell me what you think of them, there are so awesome(if you find time). Cheers!

hi my wayfarer 2140 50mm standard glossy black comes with the brown case. is it considered as fake when it comes with the brown case.. but everything is perfect the sunglasses and the box.. but im a liittle bit confuse on the brown case. thnx!
The case color is not an indicator of if its real or fake. Most of their sunglasses come in either brown or black and it does not mean they're not real. That's just what ray ban does ;)

Can you feel the 54mm version sitting on your cheeks like the 50mm or do they sit straight on the face like the New Wayfarers do? I actually had a pair of the 2140's in the 50mm, and I loved 'em, but the way they sat on my cheeks caused really bad irritation and redness.
Hey there! they don't sit "straight" or flush with the face like the new wayfarers but they have less of a tilt than the 50mm. It depends on your face size, but for me ( face on smaller side) they still move quite a bit when I move my cheeks because that much more frame is on my face, they're quite a bit bigger. IF you're having issues with irritation, I'd stick with new wayfarers or another model, because these will definitely still be felt on the face.

Next time you do a video try to show us your ears. I think the 54 mm does not sit on top of the ear properly because the tilt is much bigger than the 50mm.

I wear the 54s but I have a huge head (I wear the largest possible hat size). On 90% of men and women, the 50mm are the better choice.
The 54's are too wide for your face.....

I think the biggest difference I see is that the larger ones completely cover your eyebrows which looks odd. Thanks for sharing this I’m trying to blindly order a pair online not sure which to get.

Yeah I can see a difference with the width that sits on your top of your nose. How ever that’s mostly because you just swapped with the other pair. Because if I saw you wearing the second pair ,I doubt I’d realise. I’ve been personalising my frames with colours and cut to fit stickers on the arms , either inside or outside and they look great .The comments I’ve got have been really good. Oh and I’ve changed the lenses to my prescription. But still great shape, classic frame and they look great with your shape of face...ps thanks for your comparison

Which you prefer ? I think 52 mm is suitable for woman .. 54mm quit large
This particular wayfarer doesn't come in a 52 unless you buy the asian/ alternative fit, the 2140F. For women, I'd suggest the 50mm for most but some love the oversized look.
Currently i have 3449 59mm and it fits my face. Now i want to buy 2140 but i can't decide which size should i pick. Does size matter between different models?
I'm not all too familiar with the 3449, from what I can see it's a newer model. Some models are meant to be oversized and look oversized, is it that they fit and look a little ' fashionably big'? Or do they seem to be the same size as your face if that makes sense? Do you have any stores where you could try on both sizes of. 2140? Everyone usually always gets the 50mm no matter what size face you have but some prefer the 54 if they can find them. If you can afford to order both and return the one you don't want that could work.

Hey! It's totally up to you whether you want polarized or not. If you're in a lot of full-sun situations, or in places where you get reflection ( driving a lot, out on the water a lot) then polarized would be much better, but for every day and just fashion purposes, non-polarized is totally fine. If you can find them both in a store close to you and see the difference between the two, you might be able to tell which you want. :)
