Actually if we are talking about plastic bag, a manager in sunglasses hut said that they receive the glasses in the same plastic bags but take them out...
I work at a SGH right now, and Ray Bans do NOT come in bags. At least they don't come in ones like that. The bags we receive don't say Ray Ban or Luxxotica on them.
If the fake is 10 times cheaper and can still look like that, not far off from the original one, you won't worry so much if you leave it in a shop or on a park bench
Believe me once you own an authentic pair, you learn how to take care of your sunglasses, I used to forget, toss and broke the cheap ones no brand for years all the time. But not my Raybans, I put a lanyard for the summer, so I don't leave them at another place that is not my bag or eyes. Highly recommended and the protection and quality always is ten thousand times better, if you know you know
It sounds like you were trying to convince yourself that the real Ray-Bans were better. In reality, they both seemed almost identical. In fact, the fake ones weighed more. Most people don’t care about packaging as much. If you have to look that hard to spot the fake, it probably doesn’t matter.
@@ShadeReview you keep saying this but where is the proof? If that's the case, any sunglasses that isn't designer can "make you go blind". Why isn't everyone who wears cheap sunglasses blind right now? lol. Do you really believe this?
honestly for a pair of shades made for less than $30 you're not really at a loss buying so called "fakes" considering they're damn near identicle for being $100 less, unless someone rips them off my face to point all this out I'm not buying into the overhead of being "real" ..all of that aside very good comparison & much respect for your level of detail thanks for all the cool videos👍
Its not the plastic that makes original sunglasses expensive because fakes use the same plastic, its the glass part that makes the difference, one protects the eye from ultraviolet light and the dangerous sun,the others look cool and are cheap but destroys our eyes
Exactly.. alot of these comparison videos are really just exposing the markup for brand names.. RayBans are not made with any precious metals,.they're plastic, they're only worth about $20.. I'll buy fakes anyday.. I'm actually looking for some now..
Almost bought a pair of fake Ray Bans from someone on my local FB marketplace for the killer price of $50 but my BS meter was going off so i googled fake ray ban wayfarer, found your video and found out these things were as fake as they got. I own two pairs of actual ray bans and I’ve never received them in a plastic bag before so I knew something was up. Thanks for the review, definitely saved my $50 bucks that I can put towards an actual pair.
the slant has nothing to do with it. i have a pair i bought at sunglass hut myself which is a newer model of original wayfarer that does not have the slant. this was something alot of people have requested since the slant is not appealing to all face shapes and only the foldable wayfarers were the ones with nearly the same dimensions with no slant. Even the sunglass hut employees didnt know this when i was explaining this to them. thankfully i did research before hand.

Loved most of the video up to the slant comparison. The replicas are replicas of the Ray Bans usually sold in Asia, the 2140f, designed to be the same to the Originals in most ways save for a less slanted frame to accommodate Asian faces. I got a pair in Japan labeled 2140f, and advertised as Asian Fit. These are NOT the New Wayfarers, but the Originals with no slant. So whether or not the fakes have the slant isn’t really applicable. Going off the video, aside from some of the minor finishing details, the replicas really do look identical to the Asian version of the Wayfarers.
@@mmmishkaaa I never said it didn't have the tilt, only that it's much less pronounced. The tilt displayed in the video on the fake pairs are pretty much identical to the tilt of the 2140F. I just received my wayfarers from a certified retailer and the main differences in the packaging were: the sticker on the rayban box only had the yellow back sticker and the glasses were wrapped in bubble wrap inside the case, but I can confirm they are real
I think you're wrong... The original that u said is Europe design Europe fit while from ebay is Asian fit got 2 different type of Wayfarer Rayban which is RB2140 A (classic model) & RB2140 F (Asian fit)

@@aaronr5841 I think they're both authentic. Rayban uses many manufacturing facilities, it's owned by the largest optical company in the world, there's bound to be slight discrepancies between facilities. Also, stamp and molds are only used so many times before they wear out so if they were made in different production runs there will likely be some differences to account for there, as well. In terms of the cost difference, there are a lot of online retail models that allow the seller to sell for under the set retail mark up which is usually about x2.5 for ophthalmic and x2.8 for sunglasses, so it's not that uncommon to be able to find authentic designer glasses online for less.

So comparing the two I noticed the difference you didn't show in this video but I'm 100% sure your pair of fake sunglasses have it. Bought a NOS pair of RB2140 for $80, tilt is correct, logos are good, almost everything checks out, but the hinges look more like the ones from the fakes in the video and they did come in a Luxottica bag, sooo real or fake?
The fake ones look better in this video. The actual ones look like they have been unboxed already because the Icons book looks like it is ripped at the top.
A UV light blocking test would have been good. Tbf the fakes are not terrible but the main issue is the slant- that is the signature design element of the original wayfarer for me and is very noticeable on the face

Luxottica sunglasses are overpriced anyway. Excellent video, loved the telephoto lens, provided amazing detail quality. Would have really loved to see the screw detail. Theses are the most difficult to copy, both the thread and the head are very unique, At least here in Mexico, Luxxotica has never sent me any pair with the transparent Luxxotica RB protective bag nor the protective slip. Always see that in fakes.
I have bought pairs from sunglass hut in sorry and online and Ray-Ban.com and seriously there are a lot of variations. The best way to know if they are fake. If they are brand new and super cheap. They are fake. Buy a few brand new from sunglass hut or Ray-Ban.com and familiarize yourself with the differences before buying used.
They're not fake ray bans. Luxottica bought the right to make ray bans sunglasses but their quality control kinda sucked. They weren't making the quality sunglasses that the brand deserves and was known for.
Question, just bought a pair from Macy's and paid the normal price of Ray-Bans new wayfarer. Looking online to spot fakes and it says that rb is etched on the left lens. The ones I bought do not have this, but it feels high quality. My question is if the rb isn't there, is this a fake?
The way i can tell if it's fake is the same way u can tell by a fake watch....the weight....u can always tell jst by holding them...the weight will tell u everything.
I bought wayfarer II from Amazon last month and it was crooked. And I see a little bit glue in the lens. Not sure but when I touch it feels like glue. Was it fake?
Guys, let's be honest. It's almost impossible to see the difference. I just hope the original has better lens for sake of my eyes. If the fake one also has similar lens to the originals, then I don't see the point of paying 100 more for the originals. The fake one are almost identical in every way to the real one. Probably secretly made in the same factory that makes the originals (just like Walmart brands do).
Not a great deal of difference, if anything the fake pair looks better. I would rather save a £100 or so and buy the fakes, why pay an absorbenent amount of money for just a brand, which is dictates market price through essentially a monopoly to have all these sunglasses massively overpriced! Man fuck Ray Ban and Luxottica!
I bought a pair of supposed Rayband Wayfarer classic sunglasses on offerup. So comparing the two I noticed the difference you didn't show in this video but I'm 100% sure your pair of fake sunglasses have it. The difference is that the acetate on the black Wayfarers is not actually black, it is dark-red and slightly transparent, you can see it if you use the flashlight on your phone and look through the temple on the light. The acetate on the fake pair is solid black and not transparent whatsoever
You are definitely right. I filmed that but ended up cutting it because the video just didn’t turn out right
Hey vlad what u think about uva protection for that fake ones are they good?
@@markusfus1672 they had glass lenses and as far as I know, glass itself provides good UV protection. Don't expect the lens quality to be the same as on the originals though
Useful and helpful tips. Appreciate it
👍❤️🙏
the tilt means nothing except that the style is the original pantoscopic tilt but they do make them now without that, surprised you didnt know
Ray ban dose not make a RB2140 wayfarer with out the tilt.
They do however make the wayfarer ease which is the RB4340
So basically you will never find an original wayfarer with out the tilt!
Shade Review dude I basically said the same thing don't try to be right after the fact
@@walterlee4796 Dude he was comparing specifically RB2140 vs. RB2140, so your comment about panto was irrelevant. Don't try to be a smart ass.

Oh just fiy the logo sticker isn't on ALL of the glasses. When i do inventory for the day some come with that sticker but mimost come without,so..
Also these actually ARE 2 different models you bought there😂
I think the real ones are more pointy at the bottom, and the fake ones are more flat. Have you noticed that?
I bought mine on ray bans website. And my box didn't have the sticker on the bottom and my Polarize original wayfares didn't have a sticker on the lens saying it was Polarize, the onE you peel off....and on the left inner arm your supposed to get numbers and letters. All i got was RB2140??? THOUGHTS??????
Hello,
I own a pair of Ray Ban ORB4262D 601/30. How come I can. Or find any information on them? We purchased from Asia. Could this be only an Asian market glasses?
Ordered a TV online but got these instead and can't reach the sellers, so I guess I have to make use of them. This is the same model I got, are these men's version?
Thanks buddy, it's awesome we can look up anything free and somebody has compared or talked about it. When I was little a Nintendo was awesome.
150.00 US. no doubt. In Canada they are 355.00 CDN for authentic Ray's. I have a pair. I'm Canadian
I ordered my very own custom remixed Ray Bans , from the official website.
Awesome man! What did you get
I just got a pair for christmas and i didnt know if they were real or not but they have the lb and the package is the same as the real 1
bit of topic asking you because you know your stuff I recently bought a pair of rayban wayfarer ease and I've noticed when I take them off and put the arms down one side sits flush to the side of the frame and the other side doesn't any ideas why
Frames need to be adjusted
Bought a NOS pair of RB2140 for $80, tilt is correct, logos are good, almost everything checks out, but the hinges look more like the ones from the fakes in the video and they did come in a Luxottica bag, sooo real or fake?
The fake ones look better in this video. The actual ones look like they have been unboxed already because the Icons book looks like it is ripped at the top.
A UV light blocking test would have been good. Tbf the fakes are not terrible but the main issue is the slant- that is the signature design element of the original wayfarer for me and is very noticeable on the face
Yo please make a video about what Ray bands are better or worth more some sunglasses made in Italy or in China I would like to know thanks and nice video
Thank you so much for this review! I've taken notes and screenshots :)! Please I have an unrelated question. Is there an RB 2148?
To be honest, the fake looks very good, other than the plastic near the hinges.
"Wife's cooking scale"
😳😳
@@ShadeReview SHHHHHHHH don't ask about the scale we all know he makes all his money dealling crack! lol
Joe Enger are you implying his wife is using the scale for something other than cooking? Lol
@@harleyfillmore5101 I'm admittedly no expert on the subject of crack cocaine sales but I do believe crack is bought and sold by rock?? Not by weight.. like each rock sales for a standard price. $10/rock or if you're on the other side of town $100 for the same rock.
Lol, FML. Why am I even???
Those things aren't sensitive enough for weed lol.
One model is old one and the other one is new model of wayfarers
..
No these are both original wayfarers they look nothing like the new wayfarer
Luxottica sunglasses are overpriced anyway. They owned all brand names sunglasses like Ray ban, Oakley, Prada, Dolce Gabbana, Burberry, Chanel, RL etc. They bought Pearl vision, LensCrafters, Sunglass hut, Sears optical, Target optical etc. Sunglasses that cost only $30 to make will be sold for $200+.No competition except for the fake ones which is really looks close to the original $150+ sunglasses made by Luxottica. They were more overpriced on the prescription frames that cost $300.
I'll take the fake ones that circumvent Luxotica's monopoly and predatory practices.
😂
I don't mind buying "fake" if it's made out of the same material lol. The only thing I care about is the material the lens and frames are made out of and if it's uv protected/polarized. If it's made out of the same material, i'll buy it to save money. Most designer items have an extremely high markup price, which is why they don't hold resell value. Better to buy a good fake tbh
Nope fakes can make you go blind
@@ShadeReview Yet you cannot say how. I'm a glasses guy so you can't fool me lol. I know my stuff and own over 50 pairs.
I have a entire video on it where I explain how 😂😂
@@ShadeReview Can't find it anywhere on your channel. Unless I missed it. It would be better if you linked it.
What about the colour of the case? I bought 4 pcs of ray bans wayfarer 2140, 2 pcs 54mm (polarized and non-polarized) and 2pcs 50mm (polarized and non-polarized). 3 of them have brown colour case and only one 54mm non-polarized arrived with black colour case. Colour of the case might be random ? Do you know something about it ?
The case color is random
I aint rich to buy fake products
Jon Duan True man. $60 for fakes?? Shiiiite...
Yea big differences thanks .. amazing videos very high quality ✅🎬
When it comes to stuff that is expensive, I just rather pay the full retail price and go to their actual website when im guaranteed not to get screwed than to save a little bit to have a chance of getting screwed in any way. Its just not worth the time and effort
That's why you should buy on our website! ShadeReviewStore.com 100% authentic and trusted but cheaper prices!
Hello, the case in the original Wayfarer can be brown too?
Yes. Brown or black are most common
I have Rayburns and I like to know which ones would be the better ones, made in Italy or made in China, I have two club rounds that look beautiful but I think were made in China because it doesn’t say where it was made, the rest of my Ray-Ban‘s All say made in Italy
I bought a pair of og wayfarer as a gift to my father about 10 years ago and he hasn't worn them much so I borrowed from him for a little while. I never noticed mine was actually the model 2140-A. After searching online they are actually the asian fit model. The size is 50 [] 22. do they make these anymore because they aren't listed on official ray ban website.
Luxottica makes ray bans and owns sunglass hut
Yes! So they are 100% authentic
Good job explaining the two
Great! Can you do one for Maui Jim Kawika if it's possible?
I have bought pairs from sunglass hut in sorry and online and Ray-Ban.com and seriously there are a lot of variations. The best way to know if they are fake. If they are brand new and super cheap. They are fake. Buy a few brand new from sunglass hut or Ray-Ban.com and familiarize yourself with the differences before buying used.
One is polarized!! How can we compare?
When I seen the close up of the Ray Ban logo on the side I bust out laughing so hard
They're not fake ray bans. Luxottica bought the right to make ray bans sunglasses but their quality control kinda sucked. They weren't making the quality sunglasses that the brand deserves and was known for.
Wow! Amazing video!
Thank you buddy 👍
Kept getting distracted: “Theeee”.
Question, just bought a pair from Macy's and paid the normal price of Ray-Bans new wayfarer. Looking online to spot fakes and it says that rb is etched on the left lens. The ones I bought do not have this, but it feels high quality. My question is if the rb isn't there, is this a fake?
Yeah mate there fake, they have to have rb etched in the peft lense, use your flashlight from your phone to have a better check
flinched about the headphone warning 😭
Lol
The way i can tell if it's fake is the same way u can tell by a fake watch....the weight....u can always tell jst by holding them...the weight will tell u everything.
I bought a round Raiban JaJo blue and the cover very well but they are light and the plastic lens and they say made in china
I bought wayfarer II from Amazon last month and it was crooked. And I see a little bit glue in the lens. Not sure but when I touch it feels like glue. Was it fake?
100% fake
Guys, let's be honest. It's almost impossible to see the difference. I just hope the original has better lens for sake of my eyes. If the fake one also has similar lens to the originals, then I don't see the point of paying 100 more for the originals. The fake one are almost identical in every way to the real one. Probably secretly made in the same factory that makes the originals (just like Walmart brands do).
The hinges , and the angle towards the face are the only way you can tell if you don’t have both with you at the time.
Any tips on the wayfarer foldable fake vs real?
Id say that the box and booklet are beat, also the sticker is missing, that the legit may have been a return.
Thank bro very detail but i think don't have enough time to check all that point when going to buy one..
Where's the link for the fake ones?
Uh eBay 😂
@@ShadeReview jk. Bought some "enemy" sunglasses of alpha m. RUclipsr. You should do a review on them!
I bought those sunglasses in duty free, but i check it, and it doesn't have the "rb " on the lens.
100% fake then
I saw in another video that ray ban also makes original wayfarers without the slant
They make the wayfarer ease.
these are the original wayfarer RB 2140
2140-f
Not a great deal of difference, if anything the fake pair looks better. I would rather save a £100 or so and buy the fakes, why pay an absorbenent amount of money for just a brand, which is dictates market price through essentially a monopoly to have all these sunglasses massively overpriced!
Man fuck Ray Ban and Luxottica!
How was the comparison of lens quality looking through?
actually pretty terrible!
Ha!
@@ShadeReview how?
I bought a pair of supposed Rayband Wayfarer classic sunglasses on offerup. What was supposed to be my first experience in owning Rayband sunglasses, turned out to be my first experience owning counterfiet sunglasses 😅😅.When I received them on the mail, it dawned on me of the possibility that they were fakes, so I decided to make some research, and lo and behold they were.
If something sounds too good to be true, it generally is
Yes you are 100% correct on that one !
@@ShadeReview I bought a pair of real new wayfarer size 58 yesterday, based on your reviews of them 😎👍
Can you pls make a review on a RayBan Wayfarer 2140F 901 52 Asian fit, original and fake.
now that one (Asian) has way less angle (pantoscopic tilt) viewed from the side.
I have prescription sunglasses whitout logo why doesn't have logo🤔 but ..aim 1000% sure are genuine original rb ...i want to know where i can get prescription sunglasses whit logo
