EDIT: Just received the RB4115 wrap style Ray Bans directly from Ray Ban. Larger case than normal, looks fake, but the info packet is legit, box is perfect. But the case is smooth grain, with the larger stitching. I think I might take them in to Sunglasses Hut to see if they think they're real The stitching on the case is also different. The length of each stitch is longer on the fakes and it looks looser. Shorter stitches uses more thread and makes a tighter/stronger seam.
I work at a Sunglasshut and it's always funny having customers mumble to themselves that they are fake when Sunglasshut is owned by Luxottica...and Luxottica owns Ray-Ban haha
@@ShadeReview Sir, I dont know if you can help me, I know the rb3025 did not come with Chromance glasses but can they be replaced with Chromance glasses?
In 2001 I bought my Rayban's at Sunglasshut. My RB 2045 Cutters w3289 serve me still today. The magic of Rayban's is that they mostly use " real glass " lenses. Real glass vs plastic and other materials = real glass is heavier, but don't scratch that easy. My Rayban's are now 21 years, and still look good and are amazing to use. So guys get your Rayban's at Sunglasshut ! Great service, good prices, and excellent quality. Ps some beauties in their shops too.
I bought a pair of Ray Ban Olympia,s I’ve always wanted and wondered if they were authentic, from all my research looks like they are. Anyway they look great. The lady that waited on me was very friendly and nice. Got a discount too.
But it doesn't say Ray Ban on them. While I do agree with you, such is the market for style. I can get a pair of sunglasses from a dollar store, but again... brand.
@@I_dont_read_responses Right. They put the Ray Ban lettering on for their Ray Ban store and leave it off for their cheaper sales. Both are the same glasses.
@@JimS870 Slight fit and finish might be better on the name brand and the seconds and thirds go to Walgreens and the Dollar Store to unknown names. Does not justify a 500% to 1200% mark up. I actually found an undamaged pair sitting on a dresser in the furniture dumpster at a recycling drop off. Thanks to this video I'm 100% certain mine are genuine, pretty cool to find a free pair of Ray Ban 3025 aviators!
If all you're interested in is fake name brand and not decent lenses that are good for your eyes, yes. Truth is they are probably made in the same factory 🤷♂️
forget the frame, its the lenses. You get crap lenses with fakes. If you dont care about lenses, then i see no reason to buy Ray Bans or any high end sunglasses. Just buy cheap 20 pound ones in the style you like
I have bought 2 pairs of Ray Ban's classic aviator, both original and check this out: the first pair: silver frame and mirrored lenses with a black case and the second pair: gold frame and green lenses ( the more classic) and a brown case and guess what: I've noticed that difference too: the black case is thicker than the brown one and they're both original. Maybe that's how they do them. Let me know what you think about this

@@hautax4989 it's hard to say. The writings have not appeared always so you may have an older batch. For the case, it should properly accommodate the lenses but Ray-Ban has also different sizes. A photp would be needed to conform6
When you see them next to each other, you can notice that the fake ones have a much brighter lense than the real ones. You can actually see through the fake ones the color of the table. With the real ones it’s just dark polarized.
I bought my Aviators 30 years ago and still wear them today. Dark lenses and gold frame and they look like new. Do think Oakley lenses still take some beating.
Cheap sunglasses are generally between $10-30 depending on the brand and the quality. They can’t be ripped off because there’s no point to pretending plastic frames are acetate. Rayban will always be expensive but you get them for less on legit gray market sites and you can get used authentic Raybans for a substantial discount.
My quickest and easiest way to tell the difference between real and fake is where the temple piece connects to the frame. The fakes have little or no taper from where the temple rod is round to where it is flat and connects to the frame. Real glasses have approx 4.5 mm where the taper begins then becomes flat and ends at the screw hole. The fakes are approx 3.55 mm or less.
You are missing the most important test : a UV protection test done by a machine at reputable sun glass stores. This machine will provide a number from 0 to 600 for full UV ray protection. Some expensive sun glasses have 0 UV protection and actually help the sun fry your retina and other eye components acceleraing the onset of cataracts and blindness .
@@sillycripple435 But he said some expensive ones also have 0 UV protection. I'd like to know which ones if they really had that UV protection sticker on them. I thought it was illegal to sell them without the protection.

Thanks for this video. I bought online a rayban (not cheap) and they're very close to the original ones: they even weight the same and almost all the spots are like the original, only can small differences by comparing one to one with an original 3025. The case of the fakes do looks very diferente to the authentic ones. But the spots that anyone can spot without having an original ones to compare are 1) a macro photo of the "rayban" in the left glass. They look the same at simple view but a high quality macro photo shows that the fake ones have black spots inside the white letters menwhile authentic ones have a completely fill letters with the white impression. 2) the "RB" in the nosepads of the fake ones look exactly like the ones you show here, a completely different typography and very roughly engraved meanwhile the authentic ones have a very fine engraved RB.
Hey so actually the fakes did have glass lenses (I checked afterwords) however the metal frames were complete Trash felt like the cheeper metal ever. Where the real ones felt very strange and substantial. Also it’s really cool that you work for Luxottica! But my question is are you guys even trying to stop fakes? Because about 80% of everything being sold on eBay is fake these days..
Shade Review unfortunately there isn’t really anything being done to stop it. It’s really up to eBay to stop all the counterfeit products. I recently bought some fake beats headphones on eBay. It pretty much turned me off from getting anything else on eBay.

@@henrypido3152 No it's not, they inflate prizes on a monopoly. Free market rules are against such behaviour. I bought a pair of RayBan 2nd hand, They looked authentic, but i don't know. They're great for the sunny days, very clear and sharp. My problem is it's impossible to adjust the nose pieces so they're comfortable. No matter what I do, they find a way to "dig in" somewhere & leave red pressure spots. Any suggestions for this problem? Don't tell me to not buy 2nd hand, because I like the glasses very much except for the nose pieces.
Would've liked to see them weighed on digital scale. In my experience, not sunglasses but life, there's usually a difference in material which would show up in weight.
@@PsychoBenches True - but Rolex indeed is using good / expensive materials. Of course a big part from the price is ... 'branding'. The situation with glasses - same acetate frame cost 10 times more just because of the ... 'branding'. Ray Ban (same materials) long time ago was around 35 to 50 bucks - after Luxottica bought the brand suddenly they cost around 150$ or more. Branding != quality as it was on the past - on 80's a product price was related to it's quality, today is related to the brand - the connection quality / price is not important anymore. Humanking wannabe 'someone' therefore the need for validation trough 'high end brands'. Hmm ....
Not all the points are correct Rayban now produced in china. Quality might vary more than what you have use to. Specially for metal frames. Also rayban produce different size cases and frame arms.
@@mikegrant8031 I just buy them directly from a official ray-ban outlet if they don't say the are made by Luxottica they're not real funny fact Luxottica make at least 75% of sunglasses frames in the world but don't usually indicate this unless you buy designer glasses
It’s true that some Ray-Bans are made in China. Go to Sunglass Hut and start looking at pairs on the shelf. You’ll find some of the metal frames labeled “Made in China”.
The white Ray Ban logo in the upper glass is corner-centered on the original. On the copy it's slightly more towards the top VS being right in the corner.
if the glasses have the same uv protection, who gives a ..... about the details that are not important. the uv test and the polarization test for both of them will be better.
Hi, I have an important question. I will be very handful for answer. I've buyed Ray-Ban aviator 3025 from a second-hand. On the top of sunglasses are not writings and the case it's "tiny". Are they fake?
"Real Ray Ban" cost $15 to make but retails at $150 "Fake Ray Ban" cost $20 to make but retails $54. Which is the real fake? Are we also comparing the quality of the manual and stickers?
Couldn't agree more. I'm so glad I bought my fake Ray-Bans when they were $30. He was more concerned about stickers and manuals you never use or wear on your face ,than a millimeter hidden behind the ear and letters you need a microscope to read.
You can feel the difference in build quality and quality of materials. Fake Ray Bans feel like shitty gas station sunglasses and until you've owned a pair of authentic Ray Bans you can't possibly comprehend the difference. Not to mention fake sunglasses don't have any regulation on the lenses they use so you can be damaging your eyes and not even realizing it with a junk fake pair just because you're a cheap skate. It's much more than a box or sticker. Quit being an idiot.
As anyone with half a brain cell knows the main difference is in the quality of the lenses, materials and construction, and their ability to give you a ‘crystal clear’ image whilst protecting your eyes at the same time. Chinese rip-offs won’t give you quality glass or construction. As the old adage goes, you only get what you pay for.
Exactly. You can buy Ray Bans Knock-offs for 5-10 euros from a market and they can do exactly the same job as the real ones. Maybe the frame do not have fancy writing on it,and maybe the hinges feels a little worse, but the lenses feels and look the same. They scratch just as easy, and you can buy 10 pairs of fake sunglasses for the price of a real one. I own a pair of real RB Aviators as in this video. They look so bad that everyone thinks they are fake (Because everyone thinks REAL ones cant scratch or look bad) I really try to search youtube for a REAL argument why real RB are better than fakes, but i have yet to find a legit reason. Who cares if the clean clothe is nicer,or the case is slightly better quality? Are you wearing those? Hmm ONLY reason to why buy legit sunglasses is because no one should support the illegal fake market. People working as slaves for no money and all that kinds of thing.
@@Kenneth86666 Great point! But honestly speaking, I don’t think you’d want to support Luxotica neither since they’re monopolizing the whole glasses industry. And their CEO said in an interview: “Things are worth what people are ready to pay for”. In other words: “I love charging 200$ for something that cost 10$ to make since people buy it’’. But yeah indeed, slavery is no good.
Be careful with fakes. Get them UV tested before wearing them. Your eyes dilate when you wear sunglasses and if they don’t have a UV light filter you can be harming your eyes by exposing them to harmful UV rays. It can cause eye cataracts or even eye cancer.
@@340395Andres You can check if they are polarized with an LCD screen. In my case I didn’t need the original lenses since I pretty much just needed the frames to get it relensed. Good advice though
They were produced in the U.S. until the mid 1980ies, then in Italy until almost 2000; then mainly relocated their whole production to china where now nearly all Ray ban sunglasses are made; with only few exceptions to italy, where only prototypes and new coatings / models / designs are built in low quantities.
Thiner cases are more common in ray-ban too it depends on size of glasses and the model itself, for example clubmasters become in larger cases than the aviators and small aviators become in smaller cases than the large one etc..
As someone in the eyewear industry - and a Ray Ban aviator fan for decades (although Luxotica - Essilor - is our main rival), I'm old enough to remember when REAL RB were 40 bucks! Luxotica ruined the price points (and quality) from the original Bausch + Lomb offering. Some of this is not a warning of counterfeit: the fold in the microfiber, for example. The frames are where it matters. And you found a lot of the fake flaws - a very thorough review!!
Hey thanks for the insightful comment! Don’t forget inflation is the biggest factor in ray bans increased pricing, I have found old receipts ranging from the 1970s to 1990s and then I pop those numbers into an inflation calculator and the new ones were about $10-$20 more adjusting for inflation!
@@ShadeReview Costs rise, no question. All around. But Luxotica put a premium on RB after their acquisition. This is the designer dilemma. Many frames, regardless of price, are made by the same manufacturers. Branding is a major component in consumer pricing, irrespective of build costs. They increased prices to elevate the appeal. But it is my opinion the product has nothing to ahow for that.
I’m also in the industry, and when I started out in the mid ‘00s, basic RB aviators were $99. But I’ve also seen the warranty pamphlet tucked into the cellophane along with the cleaning cloth. Ray Ban lost their hold on the market when Oakley became top dog. Lux buys Ray Ban, re-markets them, buys Sunglass Hut, then tries to force Oakley out. Associates were also *nudged* to sell RB over Oakley. At the end of the day, Lux’s motto is always “if you can’t beat them, buy them”.
@@nathansnyder8378 They were cheaper before that! Of course, the counterfeit industry wasn't as prevalent then. This also adds to cost now. And I do believe the product was better before Luxottica.
Thats the same as 99% of all things in life. We the consumer get screwed by markups. Havnt you ever watched shark tank where people are selling products for 120% over cost??
I spoke to a very experienced sunglasses hut salesman here here in Turkey. He says that if it doesn't say made in Italy on the top bridge, it doesn't mean that the sunglasses are fake. He says that it means that the sunglasses without it are made in Luxxotica's China factory and they are also genuine. I checked the sunglasses in the top dealers in Turkey and non of them sell glasses with made in Italy print on the top bridge. Only the aviators in Sunglasses Hut has the made in Italy print. Can someone please clarify this? I am really confused about this.
Hi, I have an important question. I will be very handful for answer. I've buyed Ray-Ban aviator 3025 from a second-hand. On the top of sunglasses are not writings and the case it's "tiny". Are they fake?
I'm confused. I've bought polarized aviators from a legit local store and paid around 200$ for them but they don't have any writing at all on the nose bridge and the logo on the nose rest looks like the one on the fake ones but the ray ban logo on the lens looks absolutely perfect. Did they really sell me fake glasses? I'm from Europe, idk if that makes any difference
Thank you for your video it was very helpful. I just received aviator rainbow, it has all the proper markings from box to glasses. But it didn’t come with a sticker on the lens. Does this company sometimes sell them without stickers on the lens?? Or did I get second hand🙀
I found a pair the other day, cuban aviators with green lens, golden frame, they feel REALLY real like they are heavy, and they have RayBan logo white top left on left lens, and RB ingraved on right lens, dunno if they are fake
Yes you are right the remixes are different they don’t have the sticker because they are completely custom. One of my remixes even came in a completely different box it was more similar to persol then ray ban. But yes you are definitely right about that!
I would be more concerned with condition of the box, proper labeling, now holographic sticker featured on many original non counterfeits (even though those have been copied as well), fit and finish of the product, tells like plastic hinges, raised or flat logos, etc. Luxotica on the Manual would be as I think they only did that for a short time and don't anymore (many brands of glasses/sunglasses are made by Luxotica). Missing "Made in Italy" or "Made in (Anywhere)" is a tell if it is missing. Cleaning cloth folded over just a little would not be a tell as that could have been jostled in shipping or poorly stored.
Brand-loyalty, general concerns with fake products and all that aside: One factor that definitely makes genuine sunglasses the only option for me is UV-protection. You can never be sure whether or not fake shades have UV filtering lenses in them. Some (or most?) probably do, but you just don't know, do you? And wearing tinted, non-UV-filtering glasses in the sunlight is pretty bad for your eyes. Your iris' will open up due to the dark tint and thus - if there's no UV-filter - even more UV-rays will get into your eyes and potentially damage your retinas. Plus: Who wants to run around with a fake on their face when there are so many options to get genuine Ray Bans at a decent price these days? I remember back in the 80s when I was looking to get my very first pair of Wayfarers and how incredibly expensive they were back then over here in Europe. No internet to quickly check prices or order products from overseas.
Actually a consumer magazine tested the Chinese one and the real one, and guess what? The Chinese protected better than the original that cost many times the price of the cheap ones. So a brand doesn't mean much. I have Gargoyles original ones 2nd edition from 1990 and I find them much better.
so i just got a new pair of raybans yesterday and i bought from the rayban website and mine the cloth and little pamphlet were together in the little package and there was no sticker on my lens. just a different way mine were shipped from this for others whos came my way.
I'd go for the cheap pair because you get ripped off whichever you buy! So why not get ripped off for a little less? And who knows whether the reviewing guy is really who he claims to be?
This set probably cost less than 10 usd from china , i sell glasses too lol , i sell this glasses frame with prescription lens for 7 usd and i kinda feel bad for ripping people off.
Hi Shade, very nice video, I just purchased a pair of Ray-Ban of this same model so I was glad to learn about how the fake looks like. I can now confirm mine are original!I have a critic though, that in sunglasses lenses are the most important elements, and they were not mentioned at all. Me and some people might be interested in knowing about a difference in lenses quality, vision, resistance, eyes tiredness after some time you wear both of them. This part might be useful as well to help those people that buy a fake being aware that they are fake (seems strange but u fortunately there are such people), just interested in showing up they have Ray-Ban, that it's a status symbol. I would be personally courious to know as I would be very surprised and disappointed if at the end there is no difference in lenses between a fake and a real. There are lot of people that don't care about brands at all, then if lenses are good enough, why not to buy some that look like original from far?
Yeah, the lenses are the most important part. If the lens is the same, I don't care if they are fake. But they most probably are not. Just having used regular cheap sunglasses, you can't see through them like you can from quality sunglasses. People who have never owned expensive glasses don't know this. That's why I buy the expensive ones, and to be sure the UV protective is real and active.
Hi, can you please tell me if the nose pads are both stamped in the same way so there is no difference between right and left sides or they are different. I’m referring to the RB stamp location on the nose pads
I just ordered American Optical military sunglasses off ebay new for $14. I assume that these will be fake knock offs. About 10 years ago I bought the same glasses discounted for $75 a pair. I'm curious to see what I receive for $14 ?

I will be definitely be doing more if this video dose well. Because I already owned this exact pair. But to make this video I had to buy a whole new pair so it gets expensive haha!
I recently bought a clubmaster for $55 from ebay. Now I will safely return it after seeing your video. Thanks a lot. I had one question, since you already have original one you are able to compare, how people will identify if they don't have original one to compare in first place?

The lens sticker on the fake pair is uncentered, that's obvious. I also think the lens itself is a slightly different shape, the fake ones look a little rounder.
Yes but in person you’d 110% know the packaging is fake if you’ve ever owned real ray bans. Just got real ones today and any quality downgrades would definitely be noticeable because everything is just so flawless on the real ones.

what about itching of RB inside the right side glass? also the lower bridge in genuine RayBan has just one U shape curve but on the fake one the U has two small handles that welded it to the frame.
I bought a rayban aviator 58, 32025, the detail on sunglasses are same with the real but the packaging was without the luxotica yellow stick. Do you think is fake ?
Man RayBan logo can be engraved anywhere on fake glasses , doesn't matter weather under the bridge or above it . All you need is to tell the copy manufacturer and pay them accordingly so it's useless . The only way you can recognize them if you are an expert who knows the quality of material and scale on hand for tough measurements .
Just buy them from the website. I just got my first pair and that's what I did. Just get cheapies if you can't afford the real deal FROM THE WEBSITE. That's what I did when I couldn't afford them..I bought the gas station glasses. Either go all in..or don't go in at all. Don't just get your toes wet!
Especially considering now their official website allows you to afterpay your purchase, so you can alot more easily afford to buy such expensive eyewear and be rest assured that your getting the real deal. I'll be buying mine from their website just for the peace of mind that I'm not getting ripped off. It's so hard to be safe anymore.
I bought the exact same glasses..all good..except inside you don't say "Rayban made in Italy CE" and I bought it from an optical shop so are they fake? Because I was told that after 2015 they stopped posting internally.
Thank you very much for the information. One more thing you could probably do is see the weights of the fake as well as the real one on a small weighing scale.
I bought one Ray ban from a renowned shop in my city. However, after few years some green layer developed over the frame. Could it be because of sea water and sweat????
I noticed mine also had that green layer. I got it in 2013 and 5 years ago I moved to a city that's next to the sea so now that you've mentioned this, it clicks.
Hi shade, I have just acquired a pair of vintage Ray ban driving series chromax T-5R , I have researched them and understand they are very rare being given out in the early 90s by Volvo I have had them verified as genuine , my question is can you give me a rough valuation as I’d like to put them up on eBay , can I add they are in mint condition and look unworn complete with case and label many thanks
I have been had on ebay twice. The sellers say it is authentic but they are not. I have now bought a pair elsewhere for only 25 euros more than the fakes. AVOID EBAY AT ALL COSTS.
Hold up, you’re telling me I can get a knockoff pair of Ray Bans for less than half the price, and I’d need a macro lens to tell the difference? I really don’t see why they’re THAT awful to the average wearer if there’s no difference in fit and it actually has UV protection. On a side note, great comparison, super detailed. 👍🏼 I thoroughly enjoyed the video
My wife bought me a pair of Ray-Ban aviators for Xmas and they came in a brown leather snap case inside a silver cardboard Ray-Ban box inside of a black box with rayban in red on the top with ppwk , inside a brown cardboard box from Barbara at luxotica group in Italy,.....are they real?
I got mine today, everything looks genuine the shiny gold sticker, the ray ban made in italy on the top, but the RB logo on the lense is printed inside the lense and is only visible through the light, is visible without any light from the inside but from outside it requires to have light on the other side. Another issue is with the temples, when I put the glasses on a table, just a temple touch the table, the other temple is like 5 millimeters up and doesn’t touch the table. Anyone knows if this is normal?
Well I appreciate the thoroughness, your review of every single thing such as the matteness of the sticker was kind of annoying. I felt like you were gonna talk about how the dot between Ray Ban logo isn't the right MM size..
Whether you get the full official package really depends where and how you buy it even with real pairs and official outlets. I got mine from a Luxottica owned brick and mortar shop on holiday (GrandOptical in Belgium) and I just got the leather case and cloth. They brought a pair of glasses out the back "naked", asked me what colour case I wanted and then packed them in with the bits and bobs right there, didn't get a paper box.
In the entire video you noticed only logos, but forgot to tell us the most important thing, are these fakes healthy secured. Is their protection mark legitimate, even they are fakes? Will I have problems with my eyes if I wear fakes? All these little logo differences that you mentioned are tiny, and not visible even when you hold the product in hands
I did a UV test off camera and the REAL ones passed it with 100% coverage from UVA and UVB rays but the fakes were only 90% coverage. This confirms that the fakes can BURN YOUR EYES and make you go blind. Because they are illegal they don't have to meet any standards set by the US or EURO government.
I have recently purchased Ray-Ban Aviators sunglasses that are XL, on the left arm it says "Ray Ban RB3026 AVIATOR FLAT Metal 001/51 62□14 2N" from what I see on the internet it needs to say "LARGE" not "Flat". Which got me skeptical. The store claims to be a Ray-Ban resellers and has a whole Ray-Ban display, but I never found the model with the same colors online. Any experts that can tell me if they are Counterfeit?
I just got my recent vision glasses, spent about $500 ($300 are the lenses alone) then prescription, frame, work etc. not even happy with the final product, but I'll have to deal with it... and I'm going to have to replace them in about a year and a half probably... Even the original option seems affordable to me, so if you can - get the real deal, and thank God that you can see, and need the glasses just for fashion and sun shading purposes
The real crime here is still charging over $50 for sunglasses. Charging as much as they do for cheap plastic pieces. I’ve always worn polarized sunglasses but $150+ is outrageous. The whole eye wear industry is owned by Luxotica. They own Sunglass Hut, Pearl Vision, Vision Works, Chanel, Ray Ban, Ralph Lauren, ect. They alone control the market almost entirely. I've bought two pairs, one is polarized and the othet is not. The polarized one has the small RB on the outside but the non-polarized one has it on the inside. Both come from the original Ray Ban site. Is this normal?
I bought my Aviators in the mid 90s before eBay was a thing. Pretty sure it was at Sunglasses Hut. No etchings anywhere. Model, etc. seems to be stamped on the plastic ear piece. I can't read it.
I bough a pair of ray ban chris in a certified by ray ban store but it did not have the white label on the box. The other details tell it is original but i am not sure because of the label. Could you tell me what you think?

EDIT: Just received the RB4115 wrap style Ray Bans directly from Ray Ban. Larger case than normal, looks fake, but the info packet is legit, box is perfect. But the case is smooth grain, with the larger stitching. I think I might take them in to Sunglasses Hut to see if they think they're real
The stitching on the case is also different. The length of each stitch is longer on the fakes and it looks looser. Shorter stitches uses more thread and makes a tighter/stronger seam.

Luxottica owns Ray Ban and makes Ray Bay without the lettering for 1/3 the price. They also make 95% of all glasses and sunglasses.

You should know exactly what’s you looking for as Rayban Vintage USA, because now Rayban has been produced from Italia.

I checked the sunglasses in the top dealers in Turkey and non of them sell glasses with made in Italy print on the top bridge. Only the aviators in Sunglasses Hut has the made in Italy print. Can someone please clarify this? I am really confused about this.

I've bought polarized aviators from a legit local store and paid around 200$ for them but they don't have any writing at all on the nose bridge and the logo on the nose rest looks like the one on the fake ones but the ray ban logo on the lens looks absolutely perfect. Did they really sell me fake glasses?

Kirkland's definitely. Same factory. $20-40
I found a pair the other day, cuban aviators with green lens, golden frame, they feel REALLY real like they are heavy, and they have RayBan logo white top left on left lens, and RB ingraved on right lens, dunno if they are fake
*This Channel help me a lot when i bought my Wayferer 2140 (G-15) and my Aviator 002-58 (Crystal green)*
@Sees Fisher mine is legit sir. i ordered it directly from Rayban online store.
I bought my remixes right off the Ray Ban website. My box didn't have a sticker on it
Yes you are right the remixes are different they don’t have the sticker because they are completely custom. One of my remixes even came in a completely different box it was more similar to persol then ray ban. But yes you are definitely right about that!
No stickers on the boxes for aviators or wayfarers when brought direct.

You are grasping for straws if you're wanting him to talk about how his eyes feel after wearing sunglasses lol.

I recently bought a clubmaster for $55 from ebay. Now I will safely return it after seeing your video. Thanks a lot. I had one question, since you already have original one you are able to compare, how people will identify if they don't have original one to compare in first place?
Shade Review may I know why in sunglasshut or the certified resellers are more expensive than amazon almost double price?
@@pinakbhusanmohapatra8207 I also bought a clubmaster from Ebay. There were no signs of a knockoff as in this video. So I took them to sunglass hut and asked their opinion. They said it is the original. So, it seems that not all of raybans on Ebay are fake.
@@oksanakleo1176 I just got my sunglasses delivered. As shown in the video it turned out fake. Yes, if you bought from ebay at high price of around $100 then they may be original. But those $50-$80 are mostly fake. There is a video by youtube blogger Casey Neistat where he took the sunglasses bought from Amazon to Rayban store in newyork and store guys told it was original but he later found out those were fake. Now a days many people trying to fake Rayban. Best is to go to a store and compare your model with original thoroughly.
bought a pair of caravan 3136s i understand they are an older model and they were pre owned for 70. The Ray Ban logo on the bridge is on the bottom, is that legit? since its pair from back in the day
You really do look like Everything Apple Pro's sibling. I am subscribing because your videos are helping me with purchasing sunglasses
Thanks man!
@@ShadeReview he is actualy relayed to him
The lens sticker on the fake pair is uncentered, that's obvious. I also think the lens itself is a slightly different shape, the fake ones look a little rounder.
Anyone else actually impressed with the knock off packaging??
Yes but in person you’d 110% know the packaging is fake if you’ve ever owned real ray bans. Just got real ones today and any quality downgrades would definitely be noticeable because everything is just so flawless on the real ones.
@@Hghhhs I've had 2 pairs, but they're prescription glasses, not sunglasses. I'm impressed with the quality and comfort though. The packaging for mine is different tho, obviously.
I didn’t notice anything but the fact he needs a good manicure, holy smokes
It's not the packaging nor the logo that u wear, it's all about the product after all. The real deal for $158.00, or 2 pr for $126.00 and $32 in change, unless ur vanity levels are insecurely high and ur ego is super inflated who among the millions of people are really that concerned
If it looks nearly as perfect as the real deal for 70% less in cost then I'm in. All the packaging is retrospective, it's the content that only matters..
@@Hghhhs You've owned your Ray Bans for three years now, so I'm guessing your case has already fallen to bits.
Genuine Ray Bans = crappy cases.
what about itching of RB inside the right side glass? also the lower bridge in genuine RayBan has just one U shape curve but on the fake one the U has two small handles that welded it to the frame.
Sunglass hut is selling many for under $100 at the moment
It means the production cost is way lower and the price mark up is ridiculous
@@faizalf119 exactly!!!
@@faizalf119 Is it surprising?
@@noahh914 no, but many people is oblivious about it
I bought a rayban aviator 58, 32025, the detail on sunglasses are same with the real but the packaging was without the luxotica yellow stick.
So are you saying ebay is fake
And sunglasshut is authentic ?
Luxottica have factories in china. And that is where they make their ray bans
Mine are made in Italy. Do your research mate.
I bought the exact same glasses..all good..except inside you don't say "Rayban made in Italy CE" and I bought it from an optical shop so are they fake? Because I was told that after 2015 they stopped posting internally.
Another excellent film. It’s good to see a side by side comparison. I’m glad I found your channel.
By the way, was that a Spyderco knife?
Thanks so much man!
And yes sir it was a Spyderco Para militarily 2 in S30V
Shade Review I do like a Spyderco, I have a little Dragonfly II and it’s my favourite pocket knife. Cheers.
@@deltanovember1672 Sweet! I don't have a Dragonfly but I want one!
Shade Review Nice little knife with an unusual leaf shape blade. The Chinese have been faking Spyderco too. They have no shame.
Delta November on another channel of mine I actually made a video comparing a really good PM2 to a fake one haha
Thank you very much for the information. One more thing you could probably do is see the weights of the fake as well as the real one on a small weighing scale.
If only they had Deuteranomaly color correction lenses that were also polarized.
I bought one Ray ban from a renowned shop in my city. However, after few years some green layer developed over the frame. Could it be because of sea water and sweat????
I noticed mine also had that green layer. I got it in 2013 and 5 years ago I moved to a city that's next to the sea so now that you've mentioned this, it clicks.
your video really helps to spot the fake. good work
Suggest you spend the money on some nail clippers.
12:50 a millimeter... lol 😂 it’s more like a centimetre at least
It’s millimeter he is correct on that. Fucken dumb ass.
@@nesco7615 no. No it's not.
Hi shade, I have just acquired a pair of vintage Ray ban driving series chromax T-5R , I have researched them and understand they are very rare being given out in the early 90s by Volvo I have had them verified as genuine , my question is can you give me a rough valuation as I’d like to put them up on eBay , can I add they are in mint condition and look unworn complete with case and label many thanks
i got mine from my eye doctor place, are they real?
trey matthews jr yes because the place is probs licensed
Nope. Optometrists always sell fake RayBans.
@@brownbuffalo3411 What kind of bootleg optometrist do you go to man?
@@TheWinstonDouble I was being sarcastic.
@@brownbuffalo3411 Oh, lol. Hard to tell through text.
They don't have UV protection thats the problem a made a video on that.
Shade Review Yeah, I later saw that video. I’m no longer getting knockoffs lol
Plus they won’t hold up over time. If you do want a fake, pay $5. But never sell them.
Key is to compare UV blockage. Some $15 sunglasses offer better protection than Raybans.
he made a video on another fake and it had zero uv protecton shit was like a oven for your eyes!
@@ShadeReview thank you, thats better. This information should be in the video
Never compromise in your eyewear...
It’s a complete racket.
They don’t own Maui Jim, Randolph, Garrett Leight, SunGod, Native, Costa. And many many more so no they don’t have a monopoly there are other plenty of options
I've bought two pairs, one is polarized and the othet is not. The polarized one has the small RB on the outside but the non-polarized one has it on the inside. Both come from the original Ray Ban site. Is this normal?
Thanks for helping me choose the fake
I bought my Aviators in the mid 90s before eBay was a thing. Pretty sure it was at Sunglasses Hut. No etchings anywhere. Model, etc. seems to be stamped on the plastic ear piece. I can't read it.
That knife is awesome!
I bough a pair of ray ban chris in a certified by ray ban store but it did not have the white label on the box. The other details tell it is original but i am not sure because of the label. Could you tell me what you think?
Well those sunglasses are made by one company
What you mean?
@@cuben7196 just wacth adam ruins sunglasses
