Thank you for taking the time to educate people on how to spot fake Raybans sunglasses. I recently bought a pair of Rayban Classic Wayfarer on Offerup, which turned out to be faked. Thanks to a video like yours, I could spot the fake, and hopefully, I can get my money back using Offerup purchaser protection.
Wow! I'm glad this was helpful! People are always trying to make a quick dollar!
To be honest, I’ll go for the replica one, these differences ain’t a major issue.
They do sit a bit different and have less of the tear drop look which I wasn't a fan of
I got a replica and it's very satisfying to wear.
@@Tech-Endeavour nice 👍
If you know that it is a replika, that s ok. They sell replikas to authentic prices. And if you buy a replika thinking that it is authentic, it will be really frustrating.
Yes, I take a look at my vintage original B&L Ambermatic I bought in the mid 80s and the RB etching is also below the temple hinge.
Good to know that this is a consistent way to check for authenticity!
My new ones are just below aswell
very good video, you show in great detail what many videos don't show, (12:37) another detail at is the nose pads, the RB etching on the right is aligned, and on the pad on the left, it is turned upside down, when I saw this detail on my glasses I was scared, but it gives me peace to know that they are original, thanks to your video. Greetings!
Thanks for watching!
Yeah I'm not an expert by any means but I had a feeling the ebay ones were too good to be true
Nice detailed video! Any time I buy something like this which is often faked, I prefer to just buy directly from the company.
@@BertieW0oster Exactlyyyy worth the peace of mind
Thank you for the fine video. My Ray Ban Aviator is 30 years old and still wearable.
Nice! Sounds like you have the vintage Bosch & lomb lens
Yes., the G-15 Green lens. I replaced the nose pads twice. The key to metal frames is to keep them clean. Warm tap water, dish soap, and a small paintbrush at least once every one to two weeks. They are and icon similar to a Schott Pea Coat. @@Striker50_
Thank you for taking the time to go in detail !
Glad you found this video useful!
The fakes are a good replica, but nothing beats authentic!
Any difference in the actual eye protection against the sun?
I'm not a lens expert, but they both are polarized based off of the screen and reflection tests
I'm sure the lens on the replica are good, but they're just not official
Well from my experience with replica that had brown glass lenses I can say that opticians detected approx. 50% of UV protection. So it was basically useless.
Well. It’s official.
Jesus wears Ray • Ban.
Great review, my friend. Very informative.
LMAO hallelujah!
amen to that.
I bought the exact same glasses..all good..except inside you don't say "Rayban made in Italy CE" and I bought it from an optical shop so are they fake?
I am sure they're going to be authentic if it is from an optical shop. The font is veryyyyyy small so my camera cannot pick up the little writing. I would focus more on the build quality, and all of the other things I pointed out to pay attention to.
Thanks for watching!
Great video I can't wait until my new sunglasses arrive so I can inspect them.
Which color style are you getting 🕶️
Great video man, buying some on eBay and def gonna inspect them lol
Awesome glad to hear it has you aware
I brought one from eBay and the temple band has white print on it and it can very easily come off with just light scratch, I scratched it and the entire ray ban model number and made in Italy text is completely gone, I suspect it's fake.
Yes good eye! Ray ban etches most of their lettering
Hey guys, just bought a pair of aviators in one of the prominent eyewear stores in Vietnam, after comparing them to my old aviators, I have concerns about their authenticity, the etching on the nose bridge is missing on the top and and the etching on the lens is pretty low quality. Is there any way I could authenticate them?
Perhaps try contacting Ray Ban and ask is the seller is an authorized seller
.. another thing is the ear piece (temple) is longer on the authentic one than the fake one..
I'll measure them to see if it's true
I bought 2 pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses from Amazon titanium taken them to eye doctor to get prescription lenses and they said they were fake because said made in Japan 🇯🇵
Interesting. Have you tried googling if they make them there? Sometimes special edition ones get made in different places
@@Striker50_ Ok because they say special edition on the frames will get more information. Thank you.
@@Striker50_ Yes titanium special edition Ray-Ban sunglasses are made in Japan.
Anytime. Also consider looking on the seller's Amazon page (not the product) to see if other people are complaining about them being fake@@blover8548
@@Striker50_ I looked at reviews and all was good no one complained they were fake. Thank you.
Lmao the plastic comparison had me
Lol the answer is in the details 🤌
what if in-store?❓
eBay has a physical store?
😂😂😂
@@kneishaneefrancois I'm not understanding
its okayyy
maybe next time
Will the logo on the genuine pair fade over time?
It may be possible with wear over the years
Example, if you clean your lenses daily, over the years it may fade due to the numerous rubbing
Even if I do it with the "right tools"?
@@stokkand1 I don't understand what you mean by tools
Naturally, anything that's painted will fade over many years. Think about car paint. 15 years later it usually starts to fade if exposed to the elements. Oxidation, sunlight, and friction from using a microfiber cloth many times over will all contribute to gradual fading over the years, but it's not going to happen overnight
Great review 👍 Vert thorough
Glad you liked it 👍
@@Striker50_ keep up the good work mate. Look forward to more reviews & the subscriber count increasing 👍😀
@@thepalace2446 Thanks a lot!!
Getting to 1,000 is no joke!
Does the 55 version of clubmaster, really do not have any markings on the metal nose bridge?
I wouldn't be familiar with the club maters marking on the nose bridge. The club masters has less metal on the nose bridge, so it could be that. Or it could be that the original design from that era did not use the markings in that area
@@Striker50_ the lesser size, 51 and 49 both has markings of their sizes. That made me ponder, but the 55 said to be the asian size has none. Still It was bought in a mall and ray-ban stall so I think its legit, hopefully for 161$
lol
@@cookief1992 Sounds like they maybe just change the design depending on where it's made 🤔
Again, I don't know anything about clubmasters unfortunately but they're great looking glasses 🕶️
@@Striker50_ Thanks! yeah it looks great, I am also eyeing the wayfarer polarized or the folding one, great vid comparison of the aviators!
@@cookief1992 Thanks! For the wayfarers, polarized are great if you drive a lot or do fishing or water sports. Otherwise they're not really necessary. Also, for me, the wayfarers are a little heavier on the ears so they might make them sore after a while so just a heads up.
I have some foldable persols and personally, they're cool, but not as sturdy obviously. So if you put them up on your hair they won't stay up
Sera que Macy's esta vendiendo fake sunglasses 😢😮
Lo dudo
Very informative bro
I'm glad it helped 🤘
You saved me 🙏
You saved yourself by choosing to look this video up 🙏
You are not going to show the barcodes not to offend the sellers????? Seriously? The luxottica sticker with the barcode is very important. There are fake stickers with qr codes.
The seller got pulled from eBay after the making of this video
Posting the seller's information could turn into a lawsuit for defamation, etc. which I don't need.
That's why this video serves useful to know how to spot the differences and return if they're not authentic 👍
@@Striker50_ It is a luxoticca sticker- which is the manufacturer. Not a seller sticker. Luxoticca puts the stickers on the boxes with some numbers and barcodes. The sticker does not contain information about the shop or the seller that sells the glasses.
@@maasey145 Thank you, good to know; I'm not knowledgeable on that so I would rather be safe than sorry 👍
