    Impressive feature and goes to show how the dlc and update have fundamentally changed the game. I was able to watch some of the live stream, but missed this bit out.

    Research institute is cool but anything that requires Enbesa production makes me die a little inside

    I already researched a coffee roaster for the old world, but it really isn’t worth it at all, with a huge workforce of engineers, a 3000$ upkeep and a need of electricity( so you don’t get an electricity boost) it’s just waaaay too much for only 2 coffees per minute. Without counting the inputs, which isn’t pure wheat :/ I thought it wold be a roaster capable to produce like 10 coffees per minute with (less) imported coffee beans and some other stuff like potatoes or wood. Cuz main problem in the coffee production in the new world is the space. I was really disappointed with this coffee roaster :/

      Note that the items it can be equipped with reduce the upkeep to ~2000$. I think it can work great if you are in endgame and need some coffee somewhere, but...that situation doesn't exist anymore. Mabye you can use it for island that are build for item farming with the world fair, but I don't know if they are still worth the manuel effort.
      And obviously you will need much, much less coffee with the scholars anyway, so space in the new world shouldn't be limiting factor anyway.

    The research institute wont unlock at my session. I have 1600 elders that afro scholar had me look for three different blueprints all done ! Yet no archibald visit to notify me about the new building. Oh i am also using spice up mod

    Tip: the cotton one is useless because you can replace cotton input with wool on the fur dealers.

      Some people don't like using specialists. There are alternatives to everything really depending on how you play the game.

      Yes, it doesn't have to be on the same island as the scholars. Research points are a global resource.

    Hey Taka. I just got my Research Institute built. Got some questions if you don't mind. The research points once earned do they go down even without using them like your earnings? Also, the engineers count for research is that for the entire game or just the island when the RI is built. Thanks!

      Also the great eastern, do you need influence points to build it once researched? I need it to bring goods from Enbesa for my scholars but i got very few influence points 😭

      No, research point generate up to the cap and then stay there until used. Then you spend them and then they regenerate back up to the cap. You can see the cap and the points/min generation rate by hovering over the research points in the info bar on the top.
      Engineers need to be on the same island as the RI... use commuter piers if you need to.
      Yes you need influence to build them. They are 10 influence each.

    I'm finding myself a little thinly spread with all the regions. Is it possible to do Enbesa to get the Research Institute then get rid of your settlements there and fund your research just by donating legendary and epic items to science to get research points? (Or by other means without having to supply scholars with Enbesan goods?)

      The amount of research points you get from donating items is a tiny drop in the bucket compared to what scholars will give you. you can't create infinite research points by crafting items and then cycling them back in to get research points... They cost far more than what they give back. If you want research points, you're going to need scholars. If you really want to, once you unlock all of the needs for scholars then you could deny them the goods that come from Enbesa or require input from that region, like boots, and only give them goods that are supplied from the old world and new world.
      The problem with this is that you lose research points for not supplying those goods to them. so now your research is going to take longer to get to because you won't be getting as many points per minute.

      @@TakaRUclips I guess I'll just have to suck it and provide them with their needs. Maybe some trade union items to reduce workforce in Enbesa will help. I'm glad the new DLC doesn't introduce a new session!

      Did you craft the item or discover it? If you crafted it, then it should be in your warehouse.

      You can! Scholars just add to the research points game-wide. So you can have them anywhere you want!

    If you identify an item via field of research, is there a possibility that it will appear again when try to identify items in future, or does it get removed from the slot machine?

      No, once you identify the item then it is done and won't appear in the slot machine anymore.

    Is there a cap on how many scholars you can get?
    Do the engineers need to be on the same island research institute is on?

      There is no cap in the number of scholars you can have.. you just have to research five residences at a time. The institute does not have to be on the same island either

      You won't get 120 scholars per house until you reach 7,000 scholars. The final basic need, the radio tower requires 7,000 and that will complete the 120 per house
