  • A new report released Tuesday reveals that one in ten people in Toronto are relying on food banks amid the rising cost of living - more than twice as many people than in 2022.
The annual “Who’s Hungry” report was released published by the Daily Food Bank and Harvest Food Bank.
As Eric Sorensen explains, food bank operators say they’re at their breaking point.

"Public donations" The middle-class, who used to have a little extra to spare, can't afford to give to charity any longer. They are the new "working poor" who now have to seek charity themselves.

All of my friends gone for studies in Canada from 🇮🇳 told me that they are saving a lot of money due to this food banks.
They are not spending any money for food. All of them get free food and related articles from Food Banks in Canada.
It is a very good thing. Now i am also planning to come to Canada.🇨🇦

I stop donating, because I realized people who don't need them, are using them. People who actually take trips to Disneyland, are using food banks, make it make sense....

Various companies donate extra stock as a partnership. I've worked for companies that do this. A lot of smaller businesses will run food drives as well and people donate whatever they have.

It's year 2023 why can't guveent feed people 100% for free as money transfare but somehow community services and all around maintance in rotation leaving none out 100% of doing something fo community everywhere and well lots of possibilities in even branching out as a vacation type moment in farming or any food connection towards shelf in the store to place food but overall a newer type of rotation of being part of food chain cause all need and we all should know how it comes to us and we could come together on a whole new level of awareness. Gist of it all and what do you think, anyone?

A solution could be to grow a lot more fresh food near where we live using modern farming techniques and permaculture principles (aquaponics), with by donation places to eat open 24/7, and cardio exercise centres where people can generate electricity and health data which could be used as a commodity to lower cost of living and raise quality of life. Ensuring a basic standard of living doesn't need to cost more in taxes and will give us a great advantage.

Is taking the carbon tax off really going to make food prices that much lower? Well it might help some but.... the real problem is the greed of the big 3 food companies that control food prices. These companies have a monopoly. There is no competition because even small independents have buy wholesale which are operated and owned by the big 3. This problem just didn't happen over night , it has taken years. It just wasn't this liberal government that allowed this to happen. With no competition they can raise prices as much as they can get away with. Past governments are as much to blame for the way food prices have gone. Every part of business has monopolies these days and without competition prices will go up .. simple economics. Supply and demand and competition set ptices.

Voting for climate crazies has a price tag! The food on your table is taxed at least 10 times by governments through the carbon tax. Why is diesel so much higher than gas, even though is much cheaper to produce?
