I'm surprised American isn't going down the gutter before Southwest.
Southwest at least has good customer service and a decent baggage allowance to justify its fares.
American basically charges Delta/United fares with a Spirit level experience.

They used to have good customer service , since they hired anybody now they are going downhill fast and will probably not be operating in 10 years

I agree! I actually prefer to fly SW! I do wish they offered more direct flights but even with plane transfers or delays, they always have great customer service and the price is typically the lowest available.

“Asking workers to take unpaid time off.” In 2023 Southworst CEO pay doubled to 5.3 million despite the airline’s holiday travel debacle. It’s always the workers who are asked to sacrifice.

Since when is Southwest a discount carrier? Frontier, Spirit, and Sun Country airlines are budget.

Frankly the only one that surprises me is Syracuse. The other 3 I don't know why they even flew there.

“discount carrier”? Yeah they aren’t a discount airline 😂

They used to be an Ultra low cost but now are a full service airline

I'm not a Southwest hater (always hear good things about them) but having an all 737 fleet, couldn't they delay some aircraft retirements and/or bring compatible planes out of mothballs from the desert? Methinks there are some deeper issues than late delivery of new jets ...

DING DING DING!!!!!! Finally someone paying attention. It's easy to blame Boeing for everything these days, but Southwest isn't the only carrier doing things like this, some carriers who are an all Airbus fleet... Heck even FedEx Air Freight is having issues and it has NOTHING to do with Boeing.

So it’s either United, or Air Canada..

Why is this news? Airlines cut routes and cities all the time.

News because I didn’t know Southwest the more affordable was cutting routes. Expected the larger airlines to cut.

We always fly Southwest from Charlotte, NC to Denver, CO and have never had a problem - at least with the airlines!! The Charlotte Airport is another story😁😁😁😁

Southwest SUCKS. I will never fly them again. The "open seating" and advertised "sit wherever you want" is the dumbest thing ever to leave a board meeting. You won't sit with your spouse or loved one on a flight, unless you pay extra to get in the A group for boarding. Because it takes 20+ minutes to get everyone a seat and 1/4 of the bags then need to be bag checked, all flights run 20 minutes behind. Pilots then try to make up time. Every one of the four SW flights I took this March SLAMMED into the runways on landing. I've flown for 35 years and never had such uncomfortable flights with pressurization or perceived wreckless movements of the aircraft on landing and taxi.
