I love that the main theme is exactly what a teenager would listen to, since Heather is a teen.
It greatly matches her personality too (angsty, angry, bit of a loner) where she moved around a lot with her father, before they settled in a new town
I played this as a teen, and speaking for my teenager self, you are actually correct, it was exactly what i loved hearing back then (and today)

Never played a silent hill game, but this aesthetic is just sublime. Everything is perfect, it is such a pure concept imo
I recommend you do play it, its so beautiful when you experience it. I wasnt scared a bit but i was completely enthralled with the atmosphere, it put me in a really interesting mood, couldnt get enough of it

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is severely underrated as a vocalist. She's got some powerful pipes. I should upload my entire Silent Hill Playlist that's nothing but her songs. It's a great compilation
I went to the japan expo the year akira yamaoka was there (just for him) and on the concert they threw we had Elizabeth on vocals and she wasn't announced. One of the best performance I've seen.
Later I realized I saw Troy Baker on bass too.

I remember the PC version looking considerably sharper, ran at higher fps, and also had shadows up to 4096x4096 resolution which at the time was insane and most graphics cards couldn't handle that shadow setting until considerably later, unbelievable game.

Gotta say im totally blown away by the graphic and the atmosphere of a game from 2003
Too bad the pc version is a buggy mess, even with mods. Had my game become completely unplayable because any ammo or health items Heather picked up wouldn't save in the inventory

Its the only game I ever completed. I was 19. Im 4O in weeks and it's never lost my thoughts. I took me almost a year to complete 😂. I adore fear...fp..but not when I'm doing it 😅😂😂😂😂😂

Fourth game was never meant to be a silent hill game not only was there ghost but a serial school shooter in the game. Which the original game was called the room till publisher force them to make it silent hill game to boost sells.

Silent Hill 3 is just perfect. Just a perfect video game. I love it with such a passion, I might replay it again soon. This intro and song are mesmerizing
I played this game on my 1.4 ghz pentium 3 computer with Windows 2000 and amd radeon 7500 64 mb vram and 512 mb ram. It was laggy (even on low settings) but the gaming experience was worth it.
The silent hill series is such a gem, sad it won't have the same heights as the resident evil franchise.

yeah, totally agreed, we need another movie more faithfull to the first game, the frist one was awfull especially the s3x chang3 of Harry, they had the opportunity to make a super original horror movie with a protagnoist dad and they ruined it by using the cliché most used in that type of cinema: the single mum.
First one was OK and please don’t ask for a remake because I’m sure they will come up with some woke crap.

@@etrorainI think silent hill f is supposed to be *the* new game of the series and I think it looks very promising (even tho u didn't ask me :D) but the one thing that bothers me isn't even that it's somehow not directly in silent hill but that it is in a japanese/asian setting which gets milked so much by todays developers. Hopefully they put heart and soul into it and don't see it as a "oh look at this cool asian setting guys" cashgrab.
Not gonna lie. I would be happier if this was the SH receiving a remake instead of SH 2. An amazing ost for an amazing game. I hope we can get a SH 3 remake someday... I like SH 2 a lot, but 3 is my favorite of the franchise and i played almost all of them when they got released (specially the first 1 and since 3 is the continuation i like it even more). And this is one of the best intros ever made imo.

I remember buying this game at Game X-Change a year or two after it released. Played the first 15 minutes & was amazed. I completed this game & Silent Hill 2. I went back to that same store a year later & bought Silent Hill 4 but never followed up on it. I want to go back & complete 4 & the original. I also completed Downpour. All classics.
I hope they remake this and keep this tune in

Konami is so incompetent that they lost the final build and the og VAs lines. no wonder the had collection was shit, they threw away the code belonging to these games and entrusted a studio that had nothing to do with the originals to fix those issues. I feel bad for the people who had to work on it cause they were set up for a disaster that weren't even their fault

Sure try not to admit the combat in the game suck ss yet there weapons. Even resident evil scary but more replay value like re 3 intense. Interesting. Big difference. I think silent hill origin probably only game that has combat that actually hit your OPPONENT right.

Honestly I'd rather Silent Hill not even be an IP like Resident Evil anyway. Those three beautiful games (as well as the fourth) are imo, incredible works of human expression, and they're better off drifting away from the world of corporate mainstream success, just existing as memories the way great art should. lasting forever.
...but I'm sure they'll try to revive it and milk it again at some point either way lol

I tried playing this game on pcsx2 but for some reason the FMV wouldn’t show up and it’s just a blank screen with the music playing. I have tried 2 iso from different sources and it still the same.
there's a fix in the emulation settings that should force software rendering on FMVs. I hope this helps!
